Hello, to put the overlays with iRacing in full screen you have to do the following: - In the graphic section of iRacing, uncheck the full screen and border boxes - Put see maximum 63 cars - Alt + Enter for full screen - High + Tab, here you choose all the overlays you have selected. If you're using crew chief then you don't need to map buttons for black boxes, just ask the crew chief for the one you want: eg "black box standings", "black box relative"
I just started using RaceLabs today, then YT recommends this vid to me. So far so good, but even with just a few hours of use I've had problems with one of the windows simply disappearing. Other than that it's been great, much better than stock. Another tip for the stock UI elements, if you run triple monitors you can edit the .ini file so you can move them to the side screens (they're locked to the center monitor be default). Documents/iRacing, open the app.ini file with notepad. Control+F and search for DriveUIFullScreen. Change the 0 to 1, save and close. Now you can drag the stock UI to another screen.
Oh thanks for that note on the file! Now that you mention it I think I did that long ago but never moved the elements onto the side, felt awkward to see the notifications. Not sure why the windows would be doing weird stuff, I found that I had to close each racelabs windows individually when shutting down or else it tries to open exactly as I had it previously. Nice touch but not always flawless
@@danielsztymon4612 nah no need for all that, I found the problem was switching between race series, it's the swapping cars that makes the advanced window not load. All you have to do is close that specific window, then reload it. I ended up switching to Simhub for that part instead as it's better for that specific window. Everything else I still use through RaceLabs.
You should set your brake force faktor to 0 when using pedals with a loadcell. And you can also let CrewChief refuel you when entering the pit. RaceLapApp should add this option in a later update.
Lots of alternatives to RaceLab out there, comes down to preference. I use Kapps and get along well. Also, when using voice commands, CrewChief is not the best for non-native speakers. There DRE (The Digital Race Engineer) in combination with VoiceAttack works a lot better, as you use the Windows Speech Recognition that can be trained to your way of speaking. Also, once you get a little more serious in simracing, telemetry analysis comes into play. Can be done over VRS if you are a subscriber, but a bit basic there, or, for example, MoTec. But that’s advanced stuff that needs some good understanding of car and track physics on the user side. I‘d be glad if more people looked at their relative overlay more in races, or comprehended that turning left towards the apex is only the second best idea when CrewChief told you „on your left“... 🙈😜
Great input Major Wolf! I never saw this comment come up under my user section but it is now. I actually haven't tried the voice commands on crew chief so I should defnitely get around to that! If the sim racing world did in fact watch their relative (or even know it is there) the race circuits would be a lovely place of less carnage, maybe one day 🤣🤣
Hi imo if you don't have plateform mouvment put the three cam movement setting to 0 default is 1 but your brain must to work hard to understand shaking cockpit view and your static position. If you dont try that before give it a try just to see diffrence Google video Take care

Additionally, if you have some bucks left: - VRS subscription -> weekly updated setups including instruction videos every week for almost any race category ( 10$/month) - Craig's Setup Shop -> setups only, 5$ per month (very good setups, but not as many series as VRS, no instruction videos)
Appreciate the info Marcel! I use VRS myself to get up to speed on new tracks or find where I may be too slow, I wasn't aware of the cost difference between these services though. I'm sure people will find this great to know
Great video. I just have one question and anyone can answer. So I have been racing real world cars for the past 20 years. Most sanctioning bodies require the use of fire resistant gloves but it hasn't always been this way. When. I first started I preferred going without cause the feel was better but for safety I soon started wearing them. So my question is why do so many iracers wear gloves. I honestly dont see the advantage. Just wondering. Thanks.
Yeah alcantara is something they all like to use for feel and aesthetics, which is great until you actually plan to hold onto it haha. Plus who doesn't want to feel even more like they are a real race driver
here's a tip for you swolabear, if you click the middle mouse button (scroll wheel) on a link it'll open in a new tab, without having to do the right click menu etc...
These look awesome. Is there a way to get the overlays without having to run iracing in a window? I can't get them to show up unless I alt-tab when I'm on track, put iracing in a window, and that just doesn't look as good or as immersive.
This is been something a few people have been mentioning lately, I have always run it in a window mode and never given it much thought. Hopefully with some updates it will be something they add in, but for now I think it is the only way. Kapps or SDK gaming also have overlays that may go fullscreen, I've never used them but have heard good things. Something I found out recently is crew chief Has a fuel calculator built in. When you run a race it automatically calculates how much fuel you need to finish the race. I hav wit set to add a few gallons more than the calculation to be in the safe side, because I have almost went empty before.
I did have a quick look but didn't spot it, I like the visual one on screen for the time being anyway. Crewchief is actually reall powerful though, one day I will have to start trying the voice commands. Would make it so much more immersive having the race engineer on hand haha
I was just thinking the same thing… Crew Chief makes the fuel calculator unnecessary. Just say “how’s my fuel” and he’ll tell you everything you want to know - fuel remaining, fuel use per lap, fuel needed to finish the race, refill amount required to finish the race (if any). Then say “pit stop X gallons/litres” to set up your refill. Done. There is also a way to tell him to just fill you to the end of the race, but I forget exactly what to say for that. Like Chj 006 says, you can go into CC settings and specify a standard extra safety margin for your chief’s fuel calculations, so that he’ll always add a few extra laps worth of fuel to be on the safe side. I was resisting third-party overlays until now, but this video changed my mind. It looks like it’s worth the small additional hassle just to have all that timing information. I wonder if I could set it up to appear on my second monitor.
Sure does make it super easy, plus I seem to remember visual info over sound. Racelabs and other overlays are great since you can usually just drag boxes wherever you want including other monitors

all those overlays are available only in window mode.. i experiencing huge change of handling (behaviour.. hard to describe) of car then.. is somehow possible to run it on full screen as overlay? or do you know,what it causes? thanx
Interesting that you feel the difference, sounds like it might even be creating a small loss of frame rate or something. I would not know how to get IRacing to stay in fullscreen with it but I'm sure it could be done somehow. Like instructing Racelabs app to open always in front, but I am only guessing and not sure how to do it!
Black box is always calculating would be my guess. It's going off if you are idling etc so you need to have done a few laps at pace to get an actual number, where an overlay is only worried about; will you make the distance? since it's reading how many laps left etc

It's my best shirt! Teamwear like the ones I have (got a couple) are always at the merchandise booths at race events, or they are listed on the websites that they represent. If you are strategic then the first couple events of a racing series for the year they always sell off the last year designs for cheap!
Heard a few people mention this lately, if turning down graphics settings isn't helping maybe look into Kapps as it would be my second recommendation. Only a few dollars a month in cost.

It will also make sure you know how much pressure the brake can handle before you skid and how much throttle before you spin out haha. It will all become muscle memory if you just keep doing laps, like 30 of a new track to be really confident with it
Need to run it in windowed mode which is a real pain. I've found x2 ways to do it, you can modify a note pad file in Iracing folder or when you re-install these days it asks if you would like it to run windowed or not 24/7
That's a good question, I am thinking yes but only guessing. I know if it is not open on my computer then I won't have a livery on my car but Iracing might still load the others if they have it
Check the keybind options first, maybe it unbound somehow. Otherwise it will be linked to the Iracing notepad file with the commands it has to do with fullscreen etc. Just have to change one of the numbers from a 0 to a 1, google will lead you to some easy instructions normally
The black box is the info square in the corner that tells you important stuff about the race and your car. Pit limiter is a button you can hit that holds your car at the max speed allowed in the pits. This way you have no worries about getting a penalty!

I wish I had a VR headset to try it on, but I have no idea at the moment sorry. If I remember correctly it was one of the selling points of the software but it might not be usable at all. I would check settings and see if there is a hotkey or something you have to press. Forums might have the answer!
Normally you just follow the install instructions and it will place a logo on the desktop/front page of your computer. When you want to play iracing just double click on each add-on to boot it up and then you will be at the screen that I show on video
Yes and very annoying! Have you sorted it out? I have a video in the works of how to get it to work on a full screen windowed mode. Wish it would just work on a standard full screen though
@@blairwalton4456 That's not true, I'm using it and I don't stream or record. There are specific elements of Racelabs _for_ streaming, but you don't have to use them.
If I remember correctly I think one of the best things about Racelabs compared to some was the VR support, or maybe the future idea of it. I'm not sure though since I have never owned a vr. Must be a great experience!

Not at all! If I am just on for a bit I won't always use my boots and gloves, but if I am not being lazy I will try make sure I do use them. Just so I get used to the Sim feeling a certain way and the muscle memory
it looks like he has an Alcantara wheel. you really should wear gloves every time when using a wheel that is Alcantara, because sweat and other oils from your hands will quickly wear down that material and you'll end up needing to replace far before your done with the wheel.
ya DONT need any of these addon shit....none of it will make you any faster... focus on you own driving and racecraft is the ONLY way to "Better Your Game"
