Simple solution to using a money belt in hot climates is to keep a zipper baggie in each money belt pocket to protect passport, paper money, tickets etc. I prefer silk money belts. During flights or long train trips, I slide it higher up on my torso for greater comfort. They can be more comfortable when turned to your back if not too full. Keep a few extra baggies in your suitcase for assorted uses or when these wear out.

That’s fantastic advice about the baggies! Thanks so much for sharing I never thought about them. And yes I also use the belts in that way and agree having them on your back can be comfortable and also if they get a little bulky then wearing a jacket can help with that if it’s the right weather

Very helpful video, thank you! I'm an Android user so I used Tile trackers in my luggage last year on my trip to Germany and they were great.

Glad to see the Android community representing here 😆 thanks for adding in your tidbit about tile, I personally haven’t tried them but I know a lot of people like them.

@@RafaelDiFuria The Android is a more affordable option for me. Apple products, especially the iPhone, are too pricey for my budget.

Passport wallets that you can hang around your neck, holds your tickets documents money etc (sorry if I missed it). Particularly useful if you have multiple travel documents (visas passports residence cards etc)

You didn’t miss it! Actually I’m not a huge fan of them personally, but I can see why people like them, I personally would prefer a passport case that is just big enough for the passport itself and maybe a ticket. I prefer not yo keep all my documents together. For example the passport is something you’ll likely need to remove and put back at least a few times during your trip, if something else is in there you always have a risk of pulling that out with it. But this is why I like the cross body bags that have a small pocket in the back, some are just big enough for a passport. Leaving that as a dedicated pocket can be a little more secure, if you don’t take your bag off all the time.

I thought about getting a luggage tracker but decided against it because I usually travel with a carry-on and a backpack so both are usually within proximity of my seat. However, I do carry my cables/chargers/adapters, medication, personal hygiene stuff like a toothbrush and one set of clothing in my backpack in case I change my mind and check in my carry-on. I keep the more valuable items in my backpack. I won't feel so bad if my carry-on gets lost.

Hey Rafael, a nicely sorted vid for those of short travel or long travel if with set up destinations. Do watch the white charger at 18:18.. It has a bent prong with a small crack which can lead to a shock especially with the high voltage from there, even sweaty hands can create contact. (Not saying you have sweaty hands :) But for those humid days and nights it might lead to a hot spot. Time to through it away my man.I met you at Dona Beer briefly the night before I left back to the US. Hope to meet again when we return every year. Ken

Very helpful video. I am unclear on whether you bring a laptop or not. You said you don't, but then you have all these computer accessories that you bring with you. I feel more complete traveling with a small Macair laptop, but always am concerned about it getting damaged. Your take on this? Other issues include virtual SIM cards, and hard sided versus soft sided luggage.

I normally only travel with a phone and tablet with a keyboard case. I mostly use the pouch for charging accessories. It just depends on the trip. Sometimes I only travel with a phone. And yes esims are definitely worthwhile. But that’s a whole topic on its own. But when it comes to protecting a laptop I personally would prefer a rigid case/sleeve that I’d be able to put into a backpack. I’ve had harshell backpacks before and while they work, they end up feeling more bulky than necessary.

I second your support for Anker and AirTags. 👍🏻 Thanks also for your watch and luggage tips. 🧳✈️
