Are King of Fighters XIII trials the hardest trials in fighting game history? Well, no, but GOSH are they fun to try and clear em. Nothing quite like getting a screen full of command inputs and seeing them light up as I master the combo! Nothing can stop me... except maybe Harper, but she's allowed.

Man I know you have being doing this for decades now, but still I am amazed how fast you can read and pull off these combos.

Just like what Slick here said. I personally grew up playing KoF so it usually only takes me about 5-30 seconds to read and figure out a combo. Not flexing or anything FYI, just sharing and stuff. And from experience: KoF is one of those games that unless you grow up with, you'll be struggling with it no matter how pro you are. It's not that the skill ceiling's unrealistically high either; imagine that the many parts of that ceiling are behind locked doors. While some are accessible by spending your time and effort to hone your skills, others involve hardwired skills in the veins and brain. For instance, Iori's moveset hasn't changed much throughout the series, so when you see the inputs for the Rekkas, you *know* that it's the Rekkas. This *is* from *my* experience tho, so take everything with a pinch of salt.

Your skills are obviously world class, but holy hell, I'm not sure if you realize how difficult these combos are for a regular chump player like myself. Some of those Kyo combos took me months and almost brought me to tears!

Newer KOFs are alot more lenient. Also trial combos are just style combos purposely made hard. Optimally you're never doing shit like that. You so less for more

0:54 Yeah, if you hit a proximity C and then press forward before it lands, it’ll cancel into a throw. I have no idea why SNK made it work like this as it doesn’t usually net you any extra range and only serves to make buffering specials off of what is almost every character’s fastest button unnecessarily difficult, but that’s the way it is. Little easily forgettable quirks like this are why people have always said SF is easier(and why KOF players who are already used to these things have often wrongly complained that it’s a myth in forums).

I agree when you talk about the soundtrack of this game, but you really should try to listen the OST of KOF 96, the arranged ones, in case, the console versions(Neo-Geo CD, Playstation and Saturn versions) are godly to our ears.

Bro can you explain the shortcut you use when you cancel from Iori's DP to rekkas, its somehow cancelling to super... Also a suggestion for the channel: You should react to more fighting game trailers and announcements... Would love to hear your opinion on stuff.. A short 4-5min reaction is also fine...

Yo, at least the the trial mode in KOF XIII had a demo clip that you could watch to get the timing down. Street Fighter's trials just left you on your own and you had to search RU-vid. Guy, Dudley, T Hawk and Hugo are the only trials I completed in Street Fighter. But with the COVID-19 lockdown in effect, I might fire up the X-Box and torture myself just for old time's sake.
