Strange. I found solo 1 to be the perfect intro before the singer arrives. Then solo 4 as the perfect outro mainly due to the end run down to the resolve. Just magic. Solos 2 and 3 are kinda constructed as a lead middle part of a song - to these ears - but perhaps might need to be a tad more assertive if you catch my drift. But it all hangs together perfectly well. As a resource priceless!
I'm blown away. This has to be the most tasteful and classy playing in the UK (and many parts of the US!). The tone, notes, SPACE, are all beautiful. I'm going to devour all your other vids!

As with everything in life, the more prepared you are, the less nervous you’ll be so just keep repeating and practicing so that when you hit the stage, it requires no real conscious thought.. just muscle memory and reacting to the music 👌🏻
Alex, your theoretical vision, its application to your playing and your ability and willingness to teach it continue to amaze and inspire me. The hour or two a day that I eek out at 4:00 AM, and religiously devote to my development, are quickly consumed by all you offer. Your material and other guitar paths stop time. Playing this tasteful progression with a sense of direction and purpose is so satisfying. there's a lot of your technique that I'm starting to incorporate in my own playing. Also thanks to your chrystalclear explanation, I now know what I'm playing and why instead of just copying the licks so I can use them in other progressions when the right opportunity comes along, this combination of great tastful music pieces together with your to the point theory explanation and other sidestepping options in the progession are the perfect lessons. I have to say that I have spent quite a bit of time trying to copy your trem work on the solos. I have a JM but hardly use the trem as I haven’t practiced it enough ❤

Another stunner! Its particularly refreshing to hear a complex melody over more than a three chord progression. And how you compose such a sweet melody while interlacing the chords is beyond me. At least until I learn this one! My fingers are booked out a few weeks on learning Motown and Jimmy's blues, but his is definately next in queue. Hopefully by then I can find the whammy bar to my strat...

Thanks buddy! Glad you like the lessons 🙏🏻 I don’t use any delay plugins, but I use the UA 1176 as my main electric guitar compressor, the Neve 1073 and Pultec plugins for EQ, and the Capitol Chambers and Hitsville Rooms for reverb 👌🏻

First of all thank you so much for these videos. I've been practising these for a good while now and making a lot of progress. I've been working on other lesson videos as well and as a noob dreaming of mediocrity, the playthrough of each section at the end of the breakdown is super helpful as I can go through each lick or passage and then get bite size chunks of the actual music and go back and forth between them. ANYWAY the question i most would like to ask is: Where I can i find music with great melodic solos like this one? Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks buddy! 🙏🏻 Just need a good clean tone and your fingers do the rest! The picking hand plays a huge part in it too of course. Dedicate a life to music and improving technique and you learn to get a beautiful tone out of any piece of gear. Just takes a lot of practice of course! 😂
