So glad you enjoyed my home. I am so appreciative of the nice comments and for providing your viewers the house tour. Those sunsets are pretty sweet, eh? All the best to you Anna and Trevor, from David
No one had to tell you two twice that you could go out😀. Back in your element. Lake looks like you stepped into a postcard. Going to miss the tiny homes when you bolt 🇨🇦.
We were in Cheticamp just last Sunday (the cold day)and did the trail. Years ago a person could go into the church at just about anytime. We did the Skyline trail and we could see Iles de la Madeleine. Gorgeous little cottage.
Heading to Fort Louisburg this summer and can't wait, CB is a beautiful part of NS . Enjoy your stay in Cheticamp, looking forward to your big/small news 🤔😉 big fan from the Darkside..
@@DelightfulTravellersI’ve visited Cheticamp a few times, 20+ years ago, driven through it more recently but didn’t stop. St Pierre’s church is amazing. My parents will drive from Glace Bay to rent a camper on Cheticamp Island campground. They’ve been to Whale Cove cottages, Chimney Corner, etc. I’m anxiously awaiting the reopening of the Atlantic Bubble so I can get home to the Bay for a visit and perhaps another visit around the Trail again. Enjoy your videos Anna & Trevor, all the best from Woodstock NB
Cape Breton is one of the most beautiful places on earth and such a gem that it seems only Canadians know about. ❤🇨🇦 That was so nice to see it again through the vid.
Definitely added Chetticamp and Gypsum mine to our list, we thanks guys, we are going to CB next week. Also I love the musical scoring of this video different.
Sooooooo happy you made it to our lovely Cape Breton!!!! Enjoyed your video of beautiful Cheticamp!!! The announcement 📢 is driving me crazy with anticipation!!!! Can’t wait! Safe travels!!! Greetings from Mira, Cape Breton!!
Much love from Montreal, my aunt Josephine lived in L' Adroise, "Lord-ways", ha ha! And remember darlings, you both look marvellous! I HATE Donairs! Xox, mom lived 5 houses from Tony's, blah! Congratulations 🎊!
If you guys have time, hope you also take the time to check out the Fortress Louisberg. Great unique scenery and history. There are reenactors recreating what it was like to live there. Worth the drive!
I make a original Donair sauce recipe that's 40+ yrs old (from the 70's) sauce all the time. 1 can of evaporated milk, throw in freezer too cold, empty into bowl, fill 3/4 of milk can with sugar, Empty into bowl, add 2Tbsp white vinegar, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder. Mix well. Cover and place in fridge for at least an hour or overnight. OPTION:you can add a little more sugar or garlic to suit your taste 😋enjoy!
So happy you guys were able to leave the city behind for a bit and go to beautiful Cape Breton, love the accommodation, I could quite happily live on that island for sure. Am so intrigued about the big announcement. Take good care.
You two have been incredibly awesome ambassadors for NS this whole time! Tourism NS should cut you a big cheque. Once we can, NS is our first place to visit, mainly because of you guys. I'm sure there are so many people that feel the same way. So looking forward to next week's big announcement...🎉🎈👍. This vid was fantastic!
Great video guys what a beautiful place!! Looking forward to landing back in CB fingers crossed this summer!!....hummmm....maybe a wee one next week???....viv
Love Chéticamp!! One of my favs on the island, and only a 2 hour drive from Sydney once all of you watching can fly-in, you can drive there in a fairly short time, actually from Sydney, most points of major interest are only a 2 hour drive away. Love Gypsum Mine!! Great swimming place and a beautiful short hike/walk. Chéticamp Island is also a fav...and the cows! did you both notice the cows? The roam freely on the north side of Chéticamp Island by the lighthouse and are totally cool...on hot days when the tide is out, you can watch them sunbathing on the point that sits directly across from the village (the point with the Acadian Flag on the island - hope that makes some sense....LOL).
Great video...love the drone footage. I love to travel the world too but this video (and others you've done) reminds me why I love living in Nova Scotia! I feel grateful.
Cape Breton my home. Love that you guys are/were here. I also live in a small fishing village(Port Morien) but on the east coast of Cape Breton. Love garlic fingers but don’t like donair sauce, I usually use spaghetti sauce.
It seems like a nice place to visit and I wonder what the big reveal is going to be. Plane tickets to travel somewhere or is it a picture of a sonogram perhaps so you have to change your name to the delightful family Travelers
Dont forget the beautiful Margaree Salmon fishing pools and Lak-O-Law on your way to Cheticamp...I'm a Caper wannabe. Nic est people you ever want to meet! Thanks for the episode!🥰
Just happened to come across this video! My parents took me here back in 2019 because I wanted to learn more about where my family came from my great grandmother is from cheticamp. Fun fact that I learned my great great great grandfather helped build that church. Hopefully one day I can go back
I love Cheticamp! I hope you checked out some of the local Acadian fare! (L'Abri & Evangeline's) What breathtaking scenery! Ha! ha! I should have waited to comment about food. Nice little cottage in a beautiful location. WOW! Looking forward to the big announcement. Are we permitted to speculate??? (I have a theory). Excellent video, so nice that you are travelling again!
Aw guys it’s just so great to see you on vacation again.. it feels so happy, summery and alive! Back to doing what you do best…great info as always and such good filming…..with beer and pizza thrown in……you’re the best! Excited for next week!! 🥰
What a beautiful spot. Looking forward to your huge announcement and I have a pretty good idea what it is based on the hints you've dropped along the way in the last few months.
Hi, from Petawawa Ontario 🇨🇦😁🤗 love watching your channel..😁🤗 I sooo wanted to have a bite of those garlic fingers with the sauce..😁🤗 looked sooo good..😁
Gypsum Mines is on my list for my next visit, have been fortunate to visit Cape Breton many times and the Cabot Trail, but have yet to visit here, awesome video !
Awwwe... my hometown! Glad to see you had such a lovely time! I rarely make it back there, even though it's only about 4.5 hours drive, as I usually head down the other direction now from the city to visit my mom 💛 I'll hopefully make it there next year though!
@@DelightfulTravellers I've been living in ClaytonPark/Fairview here in Halifax for going on 9 years now. I grew up in and spent most of my life in the Cheticamp area. I rarely get to visit there nowadays though, as I tend to go down towards Digby/Weymouth instead to visit my mom when I get to leave the city 😀
Love Cheticamp and Cape Breton. I am actually editing videos now from the national park. We spent a couple weeks there filming all the trails in the park! There are so many amazing trails there. Cheticamp is a great place to stock up on supplies if you are staying in the national park for any amount of time. Once you get further along the Cabot trail you won't hit much until the other side of the trail. Nice looking place you were staying at!
So Mom was born in Glace bay Grandmother from Cheticamp in the 1800's My Philipina girlfriend (Now Canadian) Took a trip to see all of Canada And a must stop in Cheticamp And if you ask a local as we done at The famous Aucoin Bakery is located in Petit Étang, alongside the world famous Cabot Trail, neighbouring the Cape-Breton Highland National Park and the region of Chéticamp You will find the best of French Acadian goodies Amazing packed lunches to take with you on your travels Even the coffee is really good Also in Cheticamp was a Island with in a island How cool right? Now just think You can Camp there ! As we done Quiet place with a fair amount of people that are friendly and from all over North America Go for a walk And you end up on a sandy beach We did see small jelly fish along the shore line So we did not dip our feet in We got the need to explore more And ended up on a dirt road that lead to the top of a very large hill Or Mini mountain We started into Angles our car never seen before And a drop off the side we never seen before after getting to the top The road was too bumpy However There is a very old Gypsum mine And quarry with lake not far away ......Back in the early to mid 1900 Cheticamp was a busy work town for mining And fishing Today the Mine is closed And the Fishery hires people outside of Canada to come in and work for 6 months at low wages The locals i spoke with want nothing to do with it due to the hire and fire ups and downs of the jobs
@@DelightfulTravellers we hope to travel with young ones so will try to cover if not all then Sydney, Chetticamp and Cabot Trail. Thanks to you guys can learn something to explore in these destinations. Not a lot of information out there otherwise on CBI.Still building our itinerary.
You should come back here agian in the fall. Gorgeous view of color changing leaves. I was there many years ago as an international grad student at Dal. I'd like to visit Canada again soon.
We spent an amazing week in CB a few years ago. We stayed in Margaree with friends but did the entire trail and most of the beaches/waterfalls! Our fav memory was eating 2 dozen oysters at 9 in the morning at Hideaway Campground & Oysters! Nova Scotians are fantastic, the scenery spectacular...and it's about time to visit again!
Awesome video! Having been born and raised in Cheticamp, I’m obviously biased towards my hometown, but you guys really did a great job highlighting some of its nicest features. Rather than blowing past the town on your way to the Cape Breton Highlands like so many other travel vlogs, you actually took your time doing a little local sightseeing and soaking up the atmosphere. If you ever make it back, make sure to check out the free-roaming cows on Cheticamp Island and Les Trois Pignons cultural centre (and a visit inside our church if possible - it’s gorgeous). Though I now live in Halifax, I’m back home this week on vacation, and your video makes me want to revisit certain places I haven’t seen in a while. Also, I was planning to skip l’Abri on this visit, but that pizza looks soooo good! :-). Thanks from a (former) Cheticamper!
We live in Halifax as well and it's always a treat going up to CB. Cheticamp is so much fun and next time we'll have to go see those cows. I grew up on the island (North Sydney) and I always can't wait to go back - Trevor
Heyy guys! I’m from cape Breton, me and my family take a mini vacation around the Cabot trail every summer, but I wanted to mention a beach called Pointe Michaud ihope I’m spelling that right, but it’s between St. Peter’s and chapel island reserve. I’m sorry I’m bad with directions lol I only know places from being there, but pointe Michaud beach is absolutely stunning on a hot summer day! Very happy you guys love cape breton! It is an beautiful beautiful island! So much to do and see!
Such a wonderful area. Looks so peaceful. Not the worst place to be stuck at during the pandemics, hehe. I love exploring Nova Scotia with you! Greetings from Switzerland!
So beautiful there! Wow to your accommodations! I am in suspense as to the big news next week! My guess is you are offering a group trip? Wait..don't answer. I don't want to spoil the surprise! My main wish is that you guys go to Thailand!
It’s such a calming feeling to reconnect with nature, especially so during this pandemic. The footage taken in and around the village including that of the AirBNB were definitely Instagram worthy! I’m eagerly anticipating your Big Announcement next week and can only imagine what it may be! 🤭
Love following you guys. Glad you were able to get out and about. Can't wait for the huge announcement! Thanks for sharing your adventures. You guys are an inspiration to us all. :)
Absolutely wonderful place♥️. Im from Newfoundland but originally from the Philippines. I just noticed that you mentioned the lagoon in the Philippines 🇵🇭. Thats cool as well Kudos to you guys.
Great video guys that lake was absolutely beautiful on how clear it was we have a couple of lakes here in Alberta that looks just like that one. The house you stayed in was very nice as well. Great filming and Narration as well. 🤗❤️ (Note) I am using my fem name now as I am TG and hoping to start treatment one day. Just wanted to tell you so you wouldn't get confused.
So excited for you two that you've been able to get out and about. Cape Breton is a must see for Lizzy and I. We'll use your videos for pointers when we go. We're doing a few camping themed videos upcoming here in Alberta. - Kevin
I grew up not far from Cheticamp, graduated from the school next to that church 😊❤️ Great video! Have you been to Pleasant Bay!!? 😍❤️ that’s where I grew up!! Rusty Anchor has awesome food and patio! 😍 Happy Traveling!! 😊
That was awesome , Cape Brenton Island is a beautiful place with beautiful people . Will there be live music on this trip ? I heard there are a few musicians down that way .
I love watching you guys great insight to Canada I am thinking of moving to the Halifax area I have looked there and at Sydney in Cape breton which would you recommend I know halifax is a a lot bigger.
Thanks! Wow that so depends. Halifax is a vibrant city and one of Canada's best. It's honestly becoming a world class city that everyone knows around the globe 😀 It's pricey but amazing! Sydney is a very small city / large town... I grew up very close to there. I wouldn't say it has a lot of charm and appeal but it has everything you need in terms of shopping and supplies. It's also closer to the Cabot Trail so that's a big plus - Trevor
