I love your videos bro..I thank you for your knowledge. I love the way you explain things so simple and step by step..but for much that I try to get that fade right it never works for me. I try following the steps but I guess I'm afraid to go to high and mess up the cut..

I recently changed shops and my new boss said she’s “really impressed with my fades for someone who’s only been cutting for a year”. Seriously Sean, you’re the reason that I am the barber that I am. You’re teachings are why I cut as well as I do. And things I used to struggle doing (cutting the top), I do with so much more ease now. You’re the best teacher on RU-vid that I’ve found yet. You’re actually the first one I found lol, BUT stills the best nonetheless because I’ve tried to watch others and it’s seriously not the same. So I feel like I need to tell you THANK YOU!! (and please keep making videos lol)

I have always had these questions and looked at dozens of videos along time and have never found an explanation like this one in this video. This has covered so many doubts that I had and it will seriously make an impact on cutting hair better. I don’t know why other barbers that post content gate keep details like using a non zero gapped trimmer to cut the hair on the bottom. And to not bring the saver too up cause it’s going to make it impossible to blend. I have been making the same mistake before this video dozens of times and couldn’t find how to perfect my blend until now. This video deserves a donation because it’s saved time from making the same mistakes over and over without knowing how to pinpoint the cause.
@davidgodoy4685
@davidgodoy4685 6 месяцев назад
The lever function was very confusing when having a half guard, because the cutting range is different and Sean has explained what’s the best way to move up the blend in length with each guard and lever.

Quick question, I notice that when setting in the guide lines that you utilize the whole clipper blade, and my question is, when you go to blend out the lines, do you use more of the corners or what looks like half of the blade versus using the whole blade? Oh sorry one more thing? How much pressure do you apply when using clippers?
@Seancutshair
@Seancutshair 9 месяцев назад
Yeah I usually set them in with most of the blade. The more curved the guideline is the less blade I use. You should be push enough to have it flush to the head but the clients head shouldn’t be bobbing back and forth
@mistermattiejones
@mistermattiejones 9 месяцев назад
What's up Sean, finally graduated barber school, been in the shop now about 1 month. I had a question about stretching the skin when takin out the lower 1 or 2 guidelines, mainly that last line. Is this something you do or have done when cutting? I understand how it could be helpful but I also feel like it could throw you off from being able to accurately follow that guideline around the shape of the head. I would love to hear your opinion on this man.

Similar to how I used to fade, I’ve switched it up and just use the 1 and a half guard and half guard to fade now and it’s been working out really well! You tried that at all?
@Seancutshair
@Seancutshair 9 месяцев назад
I’ve seen it done but I have a complete breakdown that I teach down to the mm and using only them doesn’t allow you to hit every length in there

I don't know how you use the Andis Slime Line Pro to bald out. Everything time I used this trimmer, the blades would clog up and I would have to take apart the blade to clean it, even with short hair

When I get to my .5 half open it does nothing, I have to close it all the way and even then I sometimes have to use the clipper no guard clipper open, any idea what I’m doing wrong, cause I don’t know.
@Seancutshair
@Seancutshair 3 месяца назад
That’s a tricky area depending on what blade/clipper you’re using. Just have to find what system works with what you have

Nice video, but could you explain please how a 0,5 guard closed is gonna be shorter than a 0 open?? How is that possible? Same with the 1,5 and 2 guards.

Im scratching my head at the same thing here i wish for someone to explain this
@Seancutshair

It’s too much to explain here. The thickness of the .5 guard is so small, added to a closed clipper it’s shorter than open

I don't have a clipper with levers to have open or close. But a trimmer with 0.5 mm steps and a zero gapped trimmer. Can I still fade?

i think the biggest question is, Do you actually Hit the line with the no guard - open, or do you hit above the bald Line as your making that second line? like do u fr hit it with the teeth or hit right above and flick?
@Seancutshair
@Seancutshair 7 месяцев назад
I’m not sure I’m understanding exactly what you’re asking. You can hit the line because it’s open it won’t touch the bald line anyway

Idk if you can maybe make a tutorial, how to do a fade from top of the hair to bottom, instead of bottom to top? Im struggling a little bit with this. Let say if somebody have a 4 on top how would you do it?

Hi there, I got a cheap machine from the market so i can do my own haircut since it's quite difficult to go to the barber. My machine have only 2 accessories and you have to regulate size by turning it. So my request is can you put every mensurations (mm) so i can have them and use them with my machine. Thanks.
