Jabril, love your videos and I am a fan and subscriber. Your statement at the beginning of the video that SF is a liberal city and is open and welcoming is not true my friend. As a 31 year resident of both SF and Sausalito I have found tolerance has depreciated at such a ridiculous rate that it is embarrassing to us as residents who are open minded and middle of the road. I will continue to follow your wonderful content, but people around my hood do not tolerate anything but groupthink and closed minded judgement of anyone outside of that groupthink. God Bless.
Thank you acknowleding the homeless in your video and educating. I was talking about this with my friend the other night how we bet most people do not realize just how prevalent the homeless are in the city, especially downtown. We were at a restaurant outside eating and a woman sat next to us at a table. Obviously be cautious, but really there is no threat. She just wanted to talk. They're people too and generally are just friendly.
Well actually the majority of the homeless people in San Francisco has always been in the Downtown area of San Francisco which is in the T.L. (Tenderloin) You don't see it in other parts of the city. Well the South of Market which isn't far from the Downtown area. But it's been like this for many years. Unfortunately, the homeless people from around the United States like to come to San Francisco, because it doesn't snow and it doesn't get as cold as the other cities in California. I know San Francisco like the back of my hand. He did a good job presenting my city. That hotel he mentioned Proper is a fairly new hotel, it used to be and Apartment Bldg. back in the day. But he is right about not leaving stuff in your car. These are not people who live in San Francisco who are committing these crimes. These are outsiders. SO MAKE SURE YOU PUT YOUR BELONGINGS IN THE TRUNK BEFORE YOU GET TO YOUR DESTINATION. DO NOT DO IT WHEN YOU GET TO YOUR DESTINATION, BECAUSE THEY WILL BREAK IN YOUR CAR....
@@Jewish.Hotdog I've lived here my whole life and work downtown. Nothings happened to me. Don't carry things that make you a target. Gotta be smart in the reality that's in front of us. Robbery happens everywhere unfortunately.
@@katievannie Sure! Things not to carry: A backpack, purse, brief case, cell phone, iPad, watch, a girlfriend, nice clothes, shopping bags, a bible, glasses, tight fitting clothes, or any jewelry! That list is based on SFPD crime reports. :( And that is why people will continue to work from home.
I visited San Fran last year for the first time. I stayed in Fisherman’s Wharf. It’s now officially my new favorite city. First day I got to see a baseball game at Oracle Park! Despite it’s struggles I love the place. There is so much more to see and do there. As Arnold would say “ I’ll be back!”
Yan Mck-Sam - Exactly, there are a lot of things to do in San Francisco or better yet the BayArea. Unfortunately there are a lot of homeless in the downtown area. But once you get out of that area there are a lot of things to see.
@@yanmck-sam5472- What people don't know its been like that for years. But the problem now is that it has increased significantly because we have people from all over trying to be homeless in San Francisco because all of the programs that are available to help homeless people.
Thank you for visiting my city! I'm born and raised in San Francisco but currently living in Ghana! 🇬🇭 🙃 This made me home sick 😔.... San Francisco is so beautiful!! You're right about the different nationalities, we have every one in San Francisco which makes our food palate a huge variety!
Was born in San Francisco but moved to to Texas when I was 7 in 1988. I’m finally bout to come back to visit this year in July. I can’t wait to go back to my old neighborhood.
@@obama4hire I wonder why he doesn't live in open, liberal and diverse San Francisco?🤣 Sarcasm. I am Black, native San Franciscan and it is a horrible place for Black people. Very anti-Black policies and environment.
No joke about the food - born and raised in SF but moved out in 2018. Never considered myself a food snob or a picky eater but my god I didn't know how good SF had it until I moved away. Haven't been back yet but love the video - I didn't even know about some of these spots despite living there most of my life!
as an Oakland native, I always find appreciation in your content bro. always super informative + the quality & camera shots are always A1. been watching since 2019 when I got tips for my first trip to London 🥂 KEEP IT UP!
@PassportHeavy yes thank you for the great and amazingly done commentary and videos. Visited Sausalito because of you, and of course planning on visiting more others. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for this video. I'm an Oakland native, I work for the Golden Gate Bridge and drive transit busses for them in Marin and SF. My wife is from the black part of Sausalito (Marin City where Tupac Shakur lived and went to High school) and you showcased everything lovely. I love and first came across your channel on your videos about Haiti and Belize. You have a new subscriber in me for sure.
As a native San Franciscan, this a a world class city. If you’re visiting, stay around Fishermans Wharf. Also, think about visiting the wineries in Sonoma County. The homeless issue is real, but it’s easy to navigate around it. If you stay near Union Sqaure, you’re very near the epicenter of the homeless.
San Francisco is a amazing city. So many diverse and interesting areas to visit kept me going back year after year. The street car rides were something to experience. But it was incredibly sad to witness the devastation one year I visited San Francisco and Santa Cruz after the 1989 earthquake.
I absolutely love this channel!!!!! I am Going to Cabo next month and because of you, I have added Sunset Monalisa to my things to do while I'm there!!!! Can't wait!!!
Love everything about your video from the little history to the little tips to the systematic organized contents and the awesome videographer to the typed out blurbs at the bottom left…! Very helpful. Thank you 🙏 💕
Im from the Bay Area & this is the best city in the world to me! I’m Going for my birthday next month and this video helped so much with new restaurants!!😍😊👍thank you!!!!
@@PassportHeavy try Farmhouse kitchen Thai cuisine it was excellent they have locations in SF and Oakland. Both are busy but Oakland tend to be less busy and in a nice location close to the bay
Preciate how you rep my city! You hit it on the nail when people think Oakland is a world away. It literally is only 15 minutes from downtown with no traffic. San Jose is only 45 minutes away from San Francisco. Wish you could have hit up San Jose & wine country. Although The Bay has its issues, it's still a special place. This place used to be way more diverse with every ethnicity, but I do see it changing and locals are leaving. But I'm glad you and your friends had a blast continue doing what you're doing
Passport heavy with another banger ! Jubril appreciate you changing the culture bro we got to keep inspiring our people to travel, Just seen the clothing launch on my email so Im locked in.. and cant forget my Zoe Youri on the camera keep em coming bro.. collab in Portugal soon!!
Dude! Great job on San Francisco. We go to SF every weekend and love just hanging out there and eating at the different restaurants. Two other neighborhoods (or streets) we like are the Fillmore, Chestnut Street in the Marina District and Union Street / Fillmore Street near Marina District.
The View Lounge, rooftop restaurant and bar, is one of coolest place to over seeing San Francisco. The Red and White boat is a great way to see the bay from bridge to bridge. Great breakfast place is Mama's. Ferry building market is also a GREAT place to see!!!! Thank you Passport Heavy crew!!!!!
Hey PassportHeavy - Props from Canada :) Fantastic video as always! My San Fran / Hawaii trip was cancelled due to COVID a while back. Can't wait to get there. Keep the awesome videos coming!!!!!
I'm more 6 a.m. in Sausalito You guys sold there definitely San Obispo (of course)!!! Shout-out to the whole PassportHeavy Team for always putting in the work!!! Let's go international again for the summer!!!
place sucks. dont get me wrong its beautiful but thats about it. its nothing like it used to be. its cold, with nothing but white nerds and asians. im born and raised and my family is still there. i left for nyc 10 years ago. good riddance
wow! this SF guide did SF justice. Yes, SF has its issues and thank you for highlighting that, guides often forget to mention the homeless. Everyone please come to SF it's a great city! And one thing to mention, if you're ever in Sf please don't hesitate to rent a car and drive up north to Sonoma or Napa for wine tasting. Also the Marin and Sonoma coasts are soooo beautiful and definitely worth the drive.
Man I've been waiting on this one.... side note: I have literally never even CONSIDERED buying merch from any influencers, athletes (aside from sneakers), artists...ANYONE before but, because I'm rocking with yall like that and the merch is actually fire, I'm pulling the trigger. Love
So glad I stumbled upon your video on RU-vid this morning. I’m super pumped for for SF now. Flying in early November for a photography conference in Carmel. Coming back after conference for almost 2 days before flying home. Video gave me some great ideas.
(it wasn't on the list, but highly recommend the Tonga Room when you go. It's an old swimming pool room at the Fairmont Hotel turned into a tiki/ Hawaiian restaurant)
Watching the ladies on the boat to Sausalito, all I can think of is they had to be freezing! San francisco will fool you with the weather. Always bring a jacket
AT&T park friend lol where the Giants play. Again…AMAZING video and thank you for highlighting one of The Bay Areas best Cities. San Francisco holds a very dear place in my heart, I commuted into the City on the Bart for 3 years and it is apart of my growth fasho. I use to go to The Proper and have a drink before my shift lol.
Great video and some spots I still have left to do. SF is great and if you like running, I would recommend running from Hyde Cable car turnaround to Sausalito (12km) and take the ferry back (15$) to downtown SF. Crossing the bridge by foot was on my bucket list and i finally did it, three weeks ago 😃
Jubril! This is classic nostalgia - bringing back some really cool memories of my time working in San Fran. There's a nice carribean resturant (Cha Cha Cha) on Haight street. They have the best carribean food and live music on that side of the bay. Cant wait to be back in the city again one day.
S/o to you for being transparent about the car bipping. as someone who lives 20 mins south of SF, getting your car broken into is a given. Its not an IF, it is a WHEN. & you will get hit multiple times.
I forgot the name of the place, but it's on the wharf you mentioned. Some of the best stone crab and shrimp I've had in a long time. We went to see the "Painted Ladies" (full house area) and a homeowner let us come inside to take pictures. The ppl are dope.
As a SF native, you've done well my guy!! Haight= pronounced :: hate:: and yes this is :"bap city" = your cars WILL get broken in to NEVER leave valuables in ur car and always put belongings in the trunk BEFORE you get to ur destination. Someone is ALWAYS watching
Thinking about going to (SF) for a month, but didn't know was it as bad as portrait in the media, i.e. need to show vacine card to eat at restaurants and go into businesses in (SF). is it as bad as the news report or should I be good. Anything you can tell me is a bonus.
Born & growed in sf had to move can’t afford it anymore. Sad cuz I also worked for the city for 30 years…beautiful city great video! Subscribed & liked
Loved this channel. Travel enthusiast like myself need this! I just also wanted to say that the whole state of California in general is heavily populated with homeless ppl! It’s a thing. And a lot of them are homeless by choice surprisingly. Yes I said by choice. They literally have RU-vid videos on how to live as a successful homeless person. It’s beyond bazaar to me. Def not for me but it is a thing.
