Asakusa, is a traditional-style downtown area of Tokyo, known to Japanese as a Shitamachi, with its nostalgic Edo period vibe. The main areas can be a bit touristy but there are many local hidden street food gems in the back streets, some in plain sight, but buried between the countless shops.
