You guys must be missing for some noodles over there in Pakistan. Keep seeing you two taking breads or rice. Yet to see any noodles dishes from Pakistan. 😋😋😋
Seeing foreigners enjoying our local foods can really amaze me but seeing how you both enjoying and knowing so much of our local Malaysian foods is just beyond words. My phone is all wet now. 🤤
Thank you very much! We do love the old school spots and always want to support. They’ve been going strong for years for good reason and the vibe is unmatched
Hey Greg and Jumi!! We have never had Malaysian Food before, but these noodles look so bomb, and that you're checking out some of your favorite Noodle spots in KL!! Kin Kin looks so interesting and that soup looked so clear, and awesome this spot has been here since the 80s!!
Lai Foong had a cool atmosphere. That soup with the clams look so good. Love that it's light and flavorful. Seems like all the food in Malaysia has so much thought in it. Shin Kee had some beautiful noodles, they looked a bit thicker and so great you can get the noodles dry or as a soup. Thanks for sharing your food adventure today and fun video!! Love you guys to the moon! :)
So awesome you can put as much chili as you want. Greg you like some serious spice!! 168 was a cool looking spot. We would probably go on a Curry adventure there for sure. The noodles look so beautiful in that sauce and that broth in that soup dish. Soong Kee had beautiful looking food too. Love they have been there for 75 years. We love how filling each one of these dishes look.
Definitely! Like how you can customize the spice level to your taste. Such classic spots here in KL and we love highlighting old school places like these
Oh yes Malaysian noodles tour! Starting off with chili pan mee. OH heck yes! We love pan mee so much especially the dry pan mee. Too bad we didn't know about restoran Kin Kin when we visited KL last time. Have to go there next time then 😊
@@FoodandFootprints if you’re ever in PJ again, you can check out Pork noodles at Restoran Kean Fatt at SS3, Banana leaf rice at Acha Curry House, curry mee at O & S Restaurant at Taman Paramount, Aunty Christina Sarawak Laksa at Taman Paramount. Let me know if you need more info. Cheers!
@@veronicaong7186 We love Acha’s banana leaf rice!! Aunty Christina’s is awesome too. Haven’t tried the pork noodles or curry mee yet - thank you for the recommendations!
Oh damn 2 part noodle series. We miss being in a spot where they have so many choices for noodles. Loved how kin kin gave you the behind the scenes scoop on how they make them.
You're guys are doing such a great job finding these classic dishes. And so great to get to talk to the staff. Those noodles look amazing. Yes to fried onions on everything!
Thank you so much, guys! The uncle at Kin Kin is very friendly and he was chatting with us about how they are the originators of the dish. This dish is next level with those fresh noodles!
Lots restaurants are opened since very old days and they're still open now, great to see that! this video makes us miss eating at the food place next to streets, miss that vibe!
Really impressive the staying power of some of these places and glad they're sticking around through the pandemic and still going strong. We love all these spots you two find, perfect mix of casual and delicious.
75 years! Jesus! the noodle with minced beef sauce looks so yum! It reminds us of the black bean noodles in Korea... wonder how it tastes though! This episode is making us so hungry!!! 🤪
That Cilli Pan Mee do look very very delicious .. I have never heard it before and of course nor do I have tried it .. I should try to make it at home myself with halal ingredients .. thanks for sharing .. take care and stay safe always ✌💕🐈💕
Daaaamn those lala! It's loaded! I definitely would love to try that amazing-looking bowl! Oooof that beef noodles look great at shin kee! Awesome noodle video guys!!!
You guys MUST try the lala noodle and Shin Kee for beef noodles! Great thing is that they’re right across the street from each other. Thank you so much, guys!! 😁😁
Haha what a coincidence. I just had noodles for all 3 meals for the day. Economy fried meehoon with fried egg with the yolk oozing out for breakfast, wantan Mee with roasted duck meat for lunch and dinner was served with home cooked fried noodles 😂🤣😅. So now you two can travel more than 10km and dine in the restaurant already. So looks like can look forward for more videos soon 😋😋😋
An all noodle day - very nice!! We miss Melaka wantan mee - still our favorite of all the ones we’ve tried in Malaysia so far. Yes! Very happy about the restrictions being relaxed
@@FoodandFootprints the melaka wan tan mee & fried oysters coffee shop?Just 1-2min drive from my hse but y I still drive far to buy other wan tan mee stall/shop 😂
That dry wantan mee is calling my name. The pork is looking bloody delicious! The broth of the curry mee looks super inviting. Yellow and red and looks rich too. Good find guys!
That char siew is next level! Makes the wantan mee that much better. Loved the broth of this curry mee too! Thanks, guys! It was actually the second or third place we ate during this stay in Malaysia
You guys are amazing! These are some of the best noodles in KL but also in some of the messiest places, many of the locals stay away because some are hot, crowded, non-air-conditioned in a terrible environment! Real foodies lah!
Two part noodle series! where to sign up. Ahhhhh man was literally salivating from the get go, Yen and I just had pan mee here in New Zealand but the one you guys had looked so amazing with those chilly flakes. ooooooo salivation continues with the wan tan mee + pork lard. Dang that song kee beef noodles looks fire as too. Yellow mee! more eggy flavour. Great video guys.
Oh man the chilli pan mee is something else! Wasn’t exaggerating when I said it may be my favorite noodle dish in all of Malaysia. Haha know how you guys love the wantan mee! Gotta say the wantan mee itself is better in Melaka, but the char siew in KL is better. Would love to combine the 2! Yeahhh that Soong Kee beef noodle is good stuff
Hey guys ... ooh wontons for breakfast! Also That curry mee with the cockles looks like a beautiful of food, Chased with those tasty noodles . The sliced beef soup and the tripe. Cathy would love that. Looking forward to part two 🌟
Out of all these noodle dishes, the easiest to recreate is pan mee. Use fetuccine /spaghetti, spinach for soup, the main chinese sauces..voila. Only thing hard to source for me in EU is ikan bilis.. but I now use any small fish and just fried them. Easy!
Wow. all introduced here included part 2 video are the best of the best. I prefer the Sin Kiew Yee than Soong Kee and 168 wonton noodle used to taste better. Maybe you can give it a try at Loong Sifu Bamboo Noodle House at Happy Garden too 🙂
Thank you so much! These are all spots we really enjoyed. Agree on Shin Kee - we like it more than Soong Kee, especially since we can choose the type of noodle. Thanks for the wantan mee suggestion!
I like seeing Greg putting chili / hot sauce on his noodle without hesitation. Oh yum! Another bowl of beef noodles, now with the flat rice noodle. Great episode guys. I am not jealous because I will be eating noodle too for lunch! haha
Yes that golden treasure in the wan tan mee! That char siew though, that glaze! Love that curry mee too, ooohoooo glad they have cockles in there. Really miss that Soong Kee beef noodles, I need to go back there!
Porks one of those foods we don't go out of the way to eat, but every so often... And Greg has us sold to try the pork lard when we finally make it. The curry looked super delicious though too
8:37 That is huge bowl of noodle!!! Very generous portion of noodle. OMG looks super yum. I want it now 😭 The colour of the beef mince reminds me of jjajangmyeon 😆
@@FoodandFootprints I totally forgotten d name of a foodcourt in Ampang that has one of d most delicious satay, including a lobster briyani, wantan noodle, all Halal. 😁
Wonton mee and curry mee, I am 100% sure I would order the curry mee, and Lieles would get the dry noodles. They both look soo flavorful with the sauces/broths
Customizable Bowl is the way to go for sure. I'm usually a rice guy but I can always go for a good noodle for sure. Chillie Pan Mee originator is a good designation to have. What type of soup was that with the green stuff on top? I'll need to ask Melissa for a noodle maker!!!!
Chilli pan mee is incredible! Especially with the freshly made noodles. The soup has a pretty clear broth with the sayur manis leaves (green veggie that has a pretty earthy flavor) and shreds of egg in it. Pleasant soup to balance out the heavier noodles. There is also pan mee served in soup form with those ingredients in it + the anchovies and pork. Now that would be cool! Can imagine you guys having fun making noodles together too
Love that they have options at the last place. Lieles would always order the dry ones. He doesn't like the broth but loves the flavor of the broth infused in the noodles. Fettucine bolognese in asteroids? lol
