Starring Dr Mohan Agashe, ODH(Longing) is a 20 min short film that will tug at your hearts and stir your soul in more ways than one!
Directed by Swaroop, the film attempts to search for the meaning of life, through the eyes of the protagonist, Arvind Sane, played by one of India's finest veteran actors, Dr Mohan Agashe. The film has some stunning and haunting music by veteran Music Director, Narendra Bhide with Sanjay Dawra at the helm as Executive Producer. The short film has also recieved a lot of national and international awards including the 'Dadasaheb Phalke Janmabhoomi Puraskar'.

Dr Mohan Agashe portrayed such a perfect emotional state of old age in this world where at the end people are becoming so lonely .....we strive for money and comforts all our lives......but forget that love and care cannot be ignored.....what's a super comfortable bed....if nights are sleepless and lonely.....I remember the lines of a song from Anurodh....tum besahara ho toh kisi ka sahara bano....tumko apne aap hi sahara mil jaayega.

Yes ma'am! Agree with you. What you have written explains the "process of detachment", nicely explained in the"sanyasashram". Everyone knows that children grow up and become independent. Nothing wrong with that. But Very few realise that even our spouse is to be considered as "detachable" at some time. One should not keep expecting from the spouse indefinitely. A point well carried.

I had tears in my eyes. Some older people carry so much pain and so much of heaviness in heart. After experiencing the warmth of family, kids and children and all the emotional ties suddenly when someone becomes alone in old age it's is soul breaking and deep shooting pain and this movie depicts that very aptly. Sometimes I fear old age because no one wants people at their old age and look for ways to shun them or stay away.

खूप घरांमध्ये ही परिस्थिती आहे.पण‌ आता निवृत्ती नंतरचे आयुष्य बोनस समजून आधीपासूनच त्याची तयारी केली पाहिजे.कितीतरी अशा संस्था आहेत ज्यांना अनुभवी, शिकलेल्या लोकांची गरज आहे.थोडेफार तेथे काम करावे.आणि ही समाजाची मानसिकता लक्षात घेऊन वृद्धाश्रम कार्यरत आहेत.तिथे रहाणे कमीपणाचे वाटून घेऊ नये.म्हणजे एकटेपणा जाणवणार नाही. मुलांनी खूप शिकून परदेशात रहावे असे आपल्यालाच वाटते आणि आधी तिच गोष्ट आपल्याला आनंद देते.नेहमीच मुले आपल्या साठी धावून ये वू शकत नाहीत.पक्षांसारखे वागण्याचा प्रयत्न केला पाहिजे.ते नाहीत का पिलांसाठी घरटे बांधतात आणि पिल्ले पंख मिळाल्यावर उडून जातात.फार दु:खी होवून एकटं राहिलं तरी एकाकी राहू नये.खचू नये.आनंद शोधावा.वयामुळे थकवा येणारच. ज्याप्रमाणे आपण आधीच आर्थिक नियोजन करतो तसे हेही नियोजन आधीपासूनच सुरू केले पाहिजे.या परिस्थिती शी जुळवून घ्या. मग इतरही आपल्याशी जुळवून घेतील.

निशब्द करते ही कलाकृती. स्वमग्न होऊन विचार करायला लावते. विषय तसाच आहे...काळजाला भिडणारा. अभिनय..मी काही न बोललेलेच बरे कारण त्या क्षेत्रातल्या मातब्बर व्यक्तीविषयी मी बोलावं इतकी माझी उंची नाही. तरीपण साध्या भाषेत सामान्य माणूस काय म्हणेल "सुंदर अभिनय" तेच मी म्हणेन. दिग्दर्शन, संगीत, छायाचित्रण हे आपापल्या जागी उत्तम आणि म्हणूनच अपेक्षित परिणाम साधला जातो.

People think old senior folk don't add value to our society. But in reality they add so mucb value to our world. Their presence reminds us how precious life is. There is much to learn from them. And there is much to give back to them. Serving them during the sunset of their life can make our life meaningful. I would love to volunteer in an old-age home or start a support group for senior citizens who live alone. In India, family has always been the ideal situation for every problem. But this set-up excludes all those people who live alone because their family members are dead, or have abandoned them or their spouses are dead. That is why in India we don:t have support groups. In indian urban cities, it is needed very much.I would love to connect with such people who are lonely. I lost my Dad in 2021. I am 28 yrs old and I live alone in Pune. I was an only child therefore I have no brothers and sisters. I would love to connect with lonely people especially senior citizens.

एकट्याने आपल्या अभिनयाने पेललेली short film! Great! एकटं असताना सावरणं सोपं असतं. जिव्हाळा दिसला की कोसळायला होतं. पण असं एकटं राहून आत्महत्या कराविशी वाटायला लागली तर त्यापेक्षा वृध्दाश्रम, assisted living स्वीकारले तर ते जास्त चांगले. आत्महत्येमुळे माणूस जीवन मरणाच्या चक्रात अडकतो.

खूप छान, सत्य दर्शन पण काय करावे, ठोस काही तयार राहा मनाने यासाठी एकटेपणा हे या काळाचे देणं आहे अगोदरच त्या दृष्टीने तयारी हवी त्या तयारी वरही बोललं पाहिजे काही
