Most people would neither follow a dangerous criminal nor help a victim nor even call the police. These guys did ALL of that. How on Earth can anyone say anything negative about them based on this video except with the deliberate intention to troll?
RabbitHighOnHate "And here we see a troll in it's natural habitat.. Wandering about another being deemed as prey by the troll, but unbeknownst to the troll, the "prey" can easily eliminate the troll by ignoring its existence."
96whatsup And thus, with that comment, you show absolutely no knowledge of what an internet troll actually is. Cracking sarcastic personal jokes makes him a bully, not a troll, it takes more than just being a bully to be a troll.
T3n50r How are you sure he didn't post that reply for the sake of starting a flamewar, or merely annoy other users? Stuff that trolls are often seen doing.
Failing to stop at an accident you caused should be an automatic ban. No wriggle room, no extenuating circumstances, no leniency for pleading guilty, just an automatic ban. The extenuating circumstances etc should be used to determine what punishment you get on top of the ban.
a ban, she ran over a person, the ban is the least of it, in the US you loose your license after being pulled over for common by cops a few times. this is manslaughter 12 months in prison minimum
A ban should not even be regarded as part of the punishment - merely an acceptance that the "driver" either cannot or will not drive within the terms of their licence, so it is revoked. Driving a motor vehicle is a privilege, not a right. Punishment should be additional to an automatic revocation of licence. If I had my way, they'd scrap the points system and just have a 1 month suspension in the place of each point. Why let anyone loose in a potential killing machine when they've shown beyond reasonable doubt that they can't or won't use it responsibly?
I disagree - In 2011, I was involved in an accident and it was not safe to stop at the scene. Basically, I was driving through my town, late at night. Very slowly and carefully - a lot of drunken people were around. However, some of them started banging on my car and yelling at me for no reason. It was clear they were trying to manipulate my behaviour by inducing fear, and that's when I realised I was dealing with terrorists. Instinctively, I pulled away quickly, to escape the vicinity of the terrorists. But in a panic, I did not see the drunken jaywalker to the left of my car. Unfortunately, he was hit, and fell on the floor. After stopping briefly, as it was a natural reaction, he started to chase me also. I am certain that if my doors were unlocked, and my windows not done all the way up, the group of terrorists would have nearly killed me.
Saw this on tv the other night she got a suspended sentence, community service, ordered to pay reparations to the victim who made a full recovery charged with reckless driving causing injury and a life time driving ban
Jail sends out a message to other idiots, just hope next time it's NOT one of your family members this happens to, if you got a family you'll understand.........
The actual sentencing: "Mrs Hamid was found guilty at Isleworth Crown Court last month. She was sentenced to 12 months of prison suspended for two years, 200 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay Mr Sharma, who is still recovering from his injuries, £500 in damages. She will also be banned from driving for 3 years and will have to take an extended driving test before she is allowed back on the road."
I did some research and this is what I found for the wondering viewers. Mrs Hamid was found guilty at Isleworth Crown Court last month. She was sentenced to 12 months of prison suspended for two years, 200 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay Mr Sharma, who is still recovering from his injuries, £500 in damages. She will also be banned from driving for 3 years and will have to take an extended driving test before she is allowed back on the road. From this site: aseasyasridingabike.wordpress.com/2012/06/13/sentencing/
I will say that the sentence is very unsatisfactory, being that she could have easily killed the elderly man. If she were in America, it is likely that she would have been charged with attempted vehicular manslaughter, reckless driving, and fleeing the scene of a crime.
Well done. The most striking thing is the fact that you noticed so early that she was driving like a nutter. If it hadn't been for you and dashcam she would probably have got away with it.
Exceptionally well done. A vigilant and responsible citizen like you are much too far between. Despite the resentment, you kept your cool and are also a safe driver. The way you overtook the red car when catching up to her is professional level emergency vehicle handling. Efficient, well suited for the car abilities, in stages and safe.
I wouldnt have masked her face or her plates. Screw that woman. Sad her kids have to deal with a parent such as that. Thank you for doing what you did!
ThatSubieDude Yeah some countries have strict laws about law enforcement, and criminal privacy too in some places. In Poland for instance the whole identity of a criminal except for their first name are kept censored. In some countries, even that is censored.
Nothing in UK law prohibits recording or uploading video of somebody in a public place, let alone somebody guilty of, and caught on video committing, something like a hit and run. If UK law prohibited it, he would have had to blur every numberplate and face of every person seen in the video. How do you think programs like Crimewatch are allowed to upload CCTV (both public and private) of "people of interest"? Kudos to the uploader for chasing this diabolical woman and getting her arrested but blurring her face and numberplate was just unneccessary, she deserves to have her face made public alongside what she did here.
The driver who followed this idiot did exactly the right thing. To say he should not have done so is to clearly suggest that the general public are not at all responsible - or duty-bound - in any way, shape or form, to help deal with criminal actions on the part of fools like this woman. In fact the public is so obliged. Had the man been alone he clearly would have stopped to help the elderly chap who was knocked over. As it was his friend was able to lend assistance while he kept in touch with the hit and run driver. For a person directly involved in an accident, to drive away from that accident is breaking the law. She drove on. To drive away from a hit and run is breaking the law. The fact that she hit a pedestrian, drove off and when stopped dared deny that she had, dared claim the damage had been there on her car for months, clearly shows how reprehensible she is. The chap, by following the woman (thus helping give the police her location) assisted directly in bringing this idiot to book. Perhaps if more members of the British Public were prepared to get off their backsides and help instead of looking on like useless lemons, they might be able to spend slightly less time whining about the 'state of the society'. Well done to both of the guys involved.
I have watched about 20 hit and run videos and I have yet to come across a single offender that didn't completely erase the entire incident from their memory and act like the person trying to catch them is an idiot. I need to go to bed or something wow......
I applaud the persons in the vehicle following for helping bring a very dangerous driver to justice and more so for handling it with professionalism. I'm sure many people watching this would have found it difficult to not swear at or smack her for the disgusting act she has committed. On top of whatever her sentence is, and I guarantee it will not be enough, she needs to be permanently banned from driving.
They don't even know they hit anyone yeah right... no respect for anyone but themselves hope they go to jail for life and lose there driving licence absolutly disgusting
you guys were great. you acted quickly and intelligently. one of you got out to check on the pedestrian, and the other followed the crazy lady and confronted her, all while contacting the police. good work
I know it's a bit old now but well done for catching that woman... what a heartless lying woman well done guys... would have been another unsolved crime if you had not intervened...
Ideally, yes the man would have looked both ways. It's a good habit to get into for your own safety. But at the same time, he wouldn't have been expecting a car to be passing on the wrong side of the road, especially since he was crossing at an island. We've all overtaken someone by crossing into the other lane but never when there's an island in the road. I think the woman actually had right of way on that first roundabout but otherwise she was indeed driving like a maniac.
I watched this video in 2011 I have been reminded of this event by seeing it on CarCrashUK on itv next week I should think others need to take notice of this video and take this to the roads I wish everyone was like these two men Thankyou
It's not a hobby, it's more of a civic duty, in my opinion. Cops can't be everywhere, so when I see someone driving extremely recklessly I will report them and follow them in case something happens if I have the time, or even if I don't have the time an I really feel like they are a threat to others. Have caught quite a few impaired drivers in my time on the road, and just a bunch of idiots like this broad as well.
WhiteSlift Old comment but, its not a hobby the guy was going somewhere else, he has a dashcam for his own safety to record when dip shits do dumb shit(so I guess we can call them dumbshits instead), especially if they do it in a way that effects him, he has evidence rather then just his word against theirs. She was more then just a bad driver, like you said she was driving recklessly and on a few occasions almost hits other cars, so knowing he's in a position unlike most cars to record it and have the evidence for whoever will need it, he follows her.... he wasn't following that long, the whole video is only 6 and half minutes long... hes literally only following her for a few minutes before she runs that poor bloke over while shes in the wrong lane. I really don't get all these comments from people who are angry at the guy recording and following this driver after she runs that guy over, really baffles my mind. Often time this only happens if people are relating to the woman driver thinking that it could have been them, and then defending her in anyway they can think of... in this case its pretty hard to defend her its open and shut, so next thing to do is to attack the victim or in this case the person who catches her in the act. The last paragraph isn't completely directed at you I know you aren't defending her or attacking the victim, but it is critical of the guy taping her. I think this guy while maby a hero is to strong of a word, was being a good samaritan in following her and holding her until police, if he didn't have a passenger I'd like to think he would have stopped for the pedestrian, but he stopped to let his passenger out to go to the aid of the pedestrian.
What a crap world we live in, people run eachother over like it´s a normal thing to do and when the clip is uploaded to YT there are these so called trolls who think they´re funny. Trolling is cool, but not with this kind of stuff. Imagine the person that got ran over was your father or your brother, how would you feel???
Actually she was given a 3 year ban. "The defendant R**** H**** was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court and given a 12 month sentence suspended for two years, 200 hours community service, ordered to pay £500 compensation and banned from driving for three years. She will also have to take an extended driving test before she is allowed back on the road." This is from a Times newspaper article.
we should look at something in two ways. the guilt of the person and the empathy for them. the lady was used to 'cheating' abit in life.she has done it before.this time the time calls for such a moment, she cannot be late for work. she depends on it. for her children. for herself. she already knows the world has taken quite a beating, a world weary world. she thinks it couldnt hurt for it to take some more. only that this act has unfortunately been taped and she is the one who is made example of
No we're not, if you're from America. A lot of other country's have different driving policy's. Britain drives on the left. They always have, even before America existed on their little horse back carriages. You're the home of the free and the brave, "not everyone else around the world does exactly what you do."
They didnt speed to fast and there wasnt much trafic. Yes it was still dangerous, but its still better than letting this female get away with what she did. I have a question to you. Lets say that person run over was your mother or grandpa, wouldnt you be glad if there where people like these two who catch them and bring them to justice? Be honest.
Actually, as a member of the public, if you see a crime being committed you have the power to arrest the person committing the crime (citizens arrest) which they had to go after her for to do so good on them, they may have driven a little aggressively but they had to so they could keep up and arrest her.
Holy sh*t! Did the victim have to go to hospital? There are some bloody stupid c*nts around, and that driver is one of them. I have never seen someone drive that badly! Props to you guys for helping the victim, and then going to stop the driver. You guys do better than most of the police force!
For those wondering.... The elderly gentleman survived but had cuts under chin and was badly bruised Her excuse was she was late for work... the punishment she received was: -2 year suspended sentence -200 hours of community service -2 year driving ban -£500 compensation to the victim.
Why should I? I'm not wasting my time looking it up for some random guy on the Internet. Channel 5 showed it and the people involved on a show called World's Scariest Drivers. If you live in the UK, you might be able to see on Demand 5, if it's still there
Great job of you guys. Female drivers like that shouldnt get their driver license back for ever. Always the same behavior, they violate traffic rules and denie it like a child and when you confront them, they start yelling.
In point of fact, driving is never a right. It is always a privilege granted by the state. That's why we have to be licensed. Walking down the street is a right, but driving a heavy machine at 60 mph, no.
Yeah right, come to Los Angeles, home to five million unlicensed, uninsured illegal immigrants absolutely determined to never, ever have any contact with a police officer, no matter whose car they just crashed into.
This is how people drive in India, Only difference is that things are more rash and everyone, No matter if he's an illiterate or a rocket scientist, they all are equally mad behind the wheel.
What injuries did the man that was run over in this video sustain? The man that was hit was lucky that these people were being observant and also had a dash camera in their vehicle.
Meaning the Dash Cam belongs to Profusion Customs. For example, if you were recording something..you could say "Recorded on Noahjell's Dash cam." ...Meaning, it belongs to you.
Why didn't they pull her over ahead of time? Instead of waiting for her nearly kill somebody? If I were the victim of the hit and run I'd sue the police for negligence.
amazing , i got a few clips of idiots driving cars causeing havoc , think everyone shoud ride a bike for a year before getting near a car so they learn soe road sense
no, no you cant. No one has been banned for life. Serial drink drivers do not even get banned for life, they just get extended driving bans of over a decade,
Wot she did is wrong but the man chasing after her was also speeding he is not the police so therefore has no blue beacons or sirens so wot make them in the right her her I the wrong just because they did not hit somebody does not give them the right to speed around the roads trying to play hero they should of got number plate and stayed with the injured party if they wanted to act like the police they should of trained to be police
Well done sir,. those cams come in useful. bad drving can all be uploaded on to various sites and should be encouraged. She gave the impression of drinking??? you can now receive points for bad driving habits. be it overtaking when you should not or even playing loud music at night on the radio. I would have made her take her driving test again and made her pay £3000 to that old chap.
you know, Its sad, these days people are impatient on the road, they speed thinking if they do 90 MPH they'll get there faster, common courtesy on the road is no longer existent, and people dont give a rats ass about the person next to them, they only care about the small insignificant bubble that these people live in and thats it, this woman is a prime example and she should be prosecuted to the fullest limit of the law and then should be sued in civil court for the maximum amount.
This shit pisses me off. I remember I was walking my dog and this grandma, mom and her three kids (including one in a stroller) were crossing at a cross walk. This huge truck turns the corner going fast and has to slam on his brakes inches from the family. This asshat decides to honk at them like they did something wrong. If he had hit them I would have made that jerk had gotten into trouble. I am investing in a dash cam soon so jerks can't get away with this crap.
