I have heard so many fans of Nate say this song brought them through so much darkness and let them know they are not alone. He reminds us to keep going. This is the kind of reaction most of us love I think. Not to see someone in pain, but because we all have our own songs that hit us and we can watch you and 100% relate to how you're feeling in that moment. Whenever someone hates on NF, this is the part they're missing. The connection that happens when people can empathize with each other across age, racial, religious, gender boundaries through music......that's real.

Nate has helped me through some hard dark times. He has touched me in so many ways. His music is a therapy for me. If im feeling depressed, angry, stressed his music gets me through it. His music helps me not by cheering me up but by helping me relate to it. They'll be times were i go to my room, close the door yell and throw things while listening to his music because its so powerful. Nate has saved my life.

I solely created a channel on RU-vid so I could comment on this video. NF has helped me in ways I never thought possible just through his music. Paralyzed and wake up are two songs I choose not to listen to, not because I don’t like them, but because of the emotion it brings me with how much I connect to them. Love your guys channel, and very glad I decided to watch, none of us are alone, the community and genuine people brought together from his music is incredible and worth so much more than any award or dollar amount he could ever get!

I've suffered from depression most my life and for a while I felt like I had such a control on it, then I let my guard down and didn't have the willpower to fight back the demons that flooded in. This song hits so close to home to the thoughts that I had and have. I remember at one point expressing to my older brother that I had felt like I was chained to the floor by my neck, feet and hands, in a pitch black cell, and the only light I could see was far above my head. He told me that there was so much darkness in my mind, that came from the pain I felt, it blinded me from seeing the keys to my chains right in front of me or the staircase that led to the light above me. As the song "A Change Gonna Come" says, "It's been too hard living, but I'm afraid to die." And, don't apologize. The fastest way to freedom is to feel your feelings.

Great reaction! The fact that he brought you to tears is one of the things I love most about NF. He can definitely hit you in your feels. I remember the time hearing How Could You Leave Us and was crying by the end. I can't remember a song ever making me cry. But I went through a similar situation so probably hit me harder than some. I (thankfully) found NF when I was in high school and to this I cannot express how this amazing soul saved me, along with so many people. In many ways how making music is therapy for NF, his music is therapy for others in ways that are sometimes too difficult to put into words. I listen to his music when I just need my emotions to go through their course and flow, no holding back just letting everything out.

What I learned in life is that we are born, we learned from our parents, religion, friends, etc and we create this character/person that we believe that we have to be for the rest of your life.
