@@CARecreationalgaming I believe basic generic modernizations are known to be no good modernizations, Otis and Thyssenkrupp are usually decent at modernizations.
@@johndeerefan725 I agree with you because the high school I go to has a really nice thyssenkrupp elevator but it was modded from signa4 into the vandal resistant and it wasnt a bad mod but it does have some very bad leveling problems
I remember riding this with my mom and my mom's Japanese friend when we lived in Chicago, it ran smooth at first but when it almost reached to street level it started to bump and scared the shit out of us.
I rode this earlier in March of this year. Scared me to even attempt to ride it until later, and that was a mistake. AFAIK the elevator’s still in awful condition.

The elevator sounds like it is of the Hydraulic type as opposed to a Traction elevator. It also looks like it is very poorly maintained. I was an elevator mechanic for a few years, and yes I can see why they titled this video as the worst ever. It sounds like it is loose and its guide rails and rollers are totally worn out. You could hear the car skidding on the shaft walls. When that guy stuck his finger he could have easily gotten shocket. He pushed a broken momentary contact switch. If he would have touched the two switch conductors, the shock would have floored him.
Not to mention the indicator is backwards. S for Platform level and P for Street level. Least they replaced that tacky light but still looks ugly on the inside.
Transit elevators always suck. But this one is so bad I laughed my way through this. Therefore this elevator needs either or a complete modernization or a replacement, whatever they choose to do.
The Fox 32 Channel News Studio is on the first level on the left, the Metra Electric South Water Train Station on the lower level. You could take the Millennium, Randoph ramp on the Southside of the train station up instead of the South Water Elevator. There are restaurants and other places to go to. Plus the South Shore Line to Southbend Indiana, The Chicago Ped Way. You could walk the Chicago Ped Way to the CTA L System. The Chicago Ped Way is useful it is connected to many buildings underground, in the Summer when it gets hot out, it can be used with Air Conditioning to keep cool. In the Winter the Chicago Ped Way can be used when days are very cold out and snowy.
And also the worst part is most elevator filmers will first complain that the elevator is crappy and then when it gets a mod or they fix it up they complain that its fixed its like they have no common sense at all
If anything this is the worst elevator in the world, I mean you have a crappy orange outdoor light AT LEAST MAKE THAT AN LED! Hanging Emergency Light. Burnt out ceiling lights. Far Beyond Poorly Maintained. Sounds like it’s low on oil going down. Has no reason to even exist..

You haven't seen the worst elevator in the city of Chicago unless you saw the elevators in Sports Authority before it closed. One of the elevators was a black pit of doom, the other had 1/8th of its inner door missing.
I don’t know but it was super unsatisfying the beeps on the elevator were a cringe buzz and the elevator is creaking so much I couldn’t stand it i think this elevators were made in the 60s and 70s or something otherwise I didn’t want to go on it again and the others also hate it so thats why that elevator is better than the hotel one
It was 8 years ago. But i think they scraped that old funky noisy elevator and get a modern one that sounds good and less funky and not having that horrible buzzing sound I don’t blame the hotel manager that much but i blame the people who made it
Yay... The worst elevator I have seen in all of 2022 is at Summerlin Hospital parking garage (4-story), one of the 3 elevators runs like a piece of Sh!t and is vandalized too.
I really wish I didn’t ride this earlier in March. That was a mistake. It was (and maybe still is) in even worse condition than in this video although the smell is gone and the light color was changed.
This is the worst in Chicago? Literally any NYCHA elevator is much much worse. At least this one gets you to the floor and as an added bonus there's no urine on the floor
