Nigerian controversial singer and songwriter, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, known as Naira Marley has become an ambassador to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to campaign against drug abuse in the country. Naira Marley has more influence in my opinion to stop the trend because he has a big influence on youths and older people.

Well said Tope!! Big hypocrisy. This is every shade of wrong. "Branding is too important,"" That's a point Morayo " poor PR". This is very wrong. He should be removed with immediate effect!! Who you use as brand ambassador is critical to the message you are trying to promote. When it comes to young people, influence is powerful!!

NDLEA would have found out if he has maintained abstinence before joining the programme. Another point is that if he has completely stopped using drug or they need to find out if he is withdrawing from illicit use of drugs. This should be put into consideration before the person goes out to change a current user out there. There are so many questions involved before patronizing the individual to lead the front because the position can boomerang or cause more harm than good to young users. I write as a specialist (Drug and Alcohol) substance use and misuse in context.

He should be put through a programme of training to be able to handle it with his experience in illicit drug use. There are is a lot of referrals to be made for the person to be suitable to carry on the work. Nigerians please wake up position is empowering mind you.

Even Germany just liberalised weed use and naija still dey do googie2shoes upandan.....instead of us to capitalise on the global cannabis demand, we still dey follow our religious dogmatism.....we still dey operate in analogue while the rest of the world has gone digital.....😒😒😒😒😒
