Dang. 3 of the guys who got fired from WWE last year are holding gold today. Matt Riddle : NJPW tv champion. Nick Nemeth : IWGP global champion. And now Mustafa Ali : x division champion.
Every promotion that gets Ex WWE guys puts titles on them, they usually say it in contract to make them want to sign. They might have zero personality and talent but they will get a title just by being an Ex WWE guy.
Ali’s size was a problem in WWE. He could only really be the plucky underdog babyface. But he’s fairly big for the Impact roster. When WWE had light heavyweight title he was the right guy but the division never really took off. He’s not a heavyweight champion in WWE, there’s no way to justify that. He’s also not the best guy to put the US title on for obvious reasons.
The pants that Ali wear is similar to the color of the NXT North American Championship, the same belt that he supposed to win before he’s being released by the WWE. Him wearing that pants during the time that he won his first singles championship after his WWE run is poetic justice to me
Even thought it was obvious Mustafa Ali would win the title,I’m just glad he did. It just goes to show you that there’s always life after WWE and what failed there will succeed elsewhere.
This production is almost perfect for what they have to work with. The venue may be small but its full. The only tweek I think they need is to fix is the lighting a bit. Its got a dim yellow look.
AEW needs to take notes from TNA in this area. I'm rooting for them, but I will say that they are booking arenas that are way to big for the crowds they typically get.
I'm so happy for Moustafa This is his 1st title since joining WWE's cruiserweight division all those years ago He had never even been champion to my knowledgeWithin all of WWE What to see him with the title on my favorite wrestling promotion TNA I am very happy
Im so glad Ali won a title in a major company after Vince McMahon kept wasting his potential. Ali is the most underrated wrestler of all time in my opinion.
Ali finally got to show the world the potential WWE failed to see in him TNA is the place for him to stick it to WWE and make them regret losing the superstar he always wanted to be
People should stop saying ex wwe guys(fired/release whatever) are under utilized/underappreciated/under this under that. Once you join WWE's main roster obviously your name and face would be recognizable all over the world, probably 10x the recognition even if you're a jobber/enhancer. It will always be easier to be a champion elsewhere when you leave the biggest company but being an indie star or from a smaller promotion is harder to prove to the casual audience who you are. Top guy indie/smaller company star can make you catapult in the top scene in WWE like AJ styles but the frequency is low, while when you're jobber/enhancer and mid card at best in WWE chances are that you become champion elsewhere and the frequency of that is high and there are a lot of examples like Dolph, Riddle, Ali, Cardona, etc.
Congrats to Ali, but having him debut in the main event of the show and win the X-Division Championship? Too much, too soon. I didn't even know TNA had a PPV tonight.
It's not fair this win... Mustafa Ali still has a shot to make before he beats an athlete with a minimum of 15 years of experience in this sport... Chris Sabin is also extremely talented even more than Ali...
Chris Sabin is a great wrestler but his promo ability and character work has always held him back. He was actually getting somewhere in 2014 when he was a heel and had velvet sky as his manager. Now there’s literally no difference between 2004 Chris Sabin and 2024. He’s just 20 years older with 10 more title reigns
No hate to Ali but why TNA is giving the title so early to him, thats in debut match... That's make the difference between WWE and other promotions. ☹️
@@fikzgaming279 if it would have been in WWE then even the best indie/other promotion wrestler also need to work in NXT for 2-3 years like Nakamura, Rollins, Joe etc etc.
Hopefully NJPW Windy City riot Ali vs hiromu for the X division championship and contenders match for IWGP junior heavyweight championship match in Japan
