Here is how to fix the coolant leak under the admission of your Mustang GT for 7 bucks instead of 450 bucks with a mechanic.
You will need sockets # 8 and #10 and some basic tools and remember how to put it back together.
Hope this helps and saves you Money and headaches.
the hose is 5/8 diameter, I used a small dremel tool to cut the left end of the old hose for removal.
make sure the car is not hot like in my case.
You can do it!!

Thanks for taking the time to thoroughly show us the point of failure and how you chose to repair it. BTW, I was going to take the route to replace entire heater tube assembly, but dealer kept sending me damaged parts... So I appreciate another alternative. I think your repair could easily outlast the life of using the factory parts too!

Thanks so much. Just finished your fix to my leak. I didn't take the intake completely off, took the intake bolts off, disconnected the drivers side injector wires, took the air inlet tube with the top of the air cleaner off, and moved the intake manifold to the drivers side. Didn't have to disconnect the fuel line. It was a muther to get the hose you recommended on. I would see if O'Reillys had another 90 degree hose that was just a bit larger inside diameter. I have a 05 GT but with a 09 GT motor. The intake manifold is easier to work with than the 05 manifold. BTW, the 05 motor ate a spark plug. Again thanks for the fix.

Really difficult to get the alternator out from under the throttle body on an S197 - I've seen people trying on RU-vid - maybe the 5.0 is easier but after several alternators over the years I just take the throttle body off to make life easier and clean it and the MAF while I'm at it

I replaced mine with the same hose, then test drove it up to 75mph at WOT. It did not come loose like others claimed it could. If you use new (screw type) hose clamps, the correct hose too, and tighten them down properly (where you can see hose rubber slightly poking out of the clamp slots), it will last long. All my cars over the years get the same finesse with zero issues

I drive an '07 GT and under full acceleration (!!) thereby increased coolant flow/coolant thermal expansion, this Gates hose will be pushed off the metal inlet sleeve at the front of the intake valley. It happened to me and my temp gauge began to glow cherry red and scared the you know what out of me. This video is a great patch but please spring the extra 65$ for the factory correct heater hose. The factory correct hose will snap over and lock onto the metal inlet sleeve much like an a/c or pressurized fuel filter quick connect line.
