Mustang Mach E 12v battery is dead AGAIN & vehicle BRICKED || Frustrating || Ford needs fix this NOW
In this video I show you the steps involved to diagnose and fix a Dead or Bad 12v accessory battery on a Ford Mach E and F150 Lightning. In my case it was a bad cell withing the 12v battery that was not allowing the battery to charge.

Thanks for sharing this. I'm looking at buying an EV. May I ask why you chose this over a Model Y? Thank you.

Great question. I live in a very large city (500,000 people) that as of yet does not have a Tesla dealership or repair shop. Closest minor repair shop is over an hour away. Closest dealership is about 2 hours away. Was concerned about maintenance and repairs being an issue with the large distance between. I have thought about making a video about this. Wondering if there would be any interest? Thanks for watching and the question! Subscribe for more videos like this!

@@MoreBear Great reason. My friend had his steering rack start to fail with only 200 miles on his Y. He lived 45 minutes from the Tesla shop. Tesla sent a tow truck and he road in the tow truck where they gave him a loaner Y to borrow for two days, no charge of course. He hasn't had a problem since and that was a year ago. Good luck and I hope your Mach E is trouble free now.

Do you have an accessory phantom draining the battery? OBDII reader? Dash cam? Did you connect FordPass to your local utility for automatic time-of-day saving? They ping the car *a lot* and have been known to drain the 12v. Other possibility is walking past the car frequently with the key / phone in your pocket and waking the car up - that will also drain the 12v

No phantom drain. Dash cam was installed but removed about 8 months ago. Ford pass is connected, but not on a schedule. It charges when i plug in to always maintain the 12v battery. Only walk past the car twice a day (to and from work). Thanks for the suggestions and for watching!

@My 12 volt battery I have changed the battery twice and the battery is getting sucked down to no cells what can be the cause of this on my mache

I've heard that cold is the worst enemy. Try keeping you High Voltage (main) battery charged at 85%. I had my vehicle in at the Ford Dealer for 2 months and the 12v battery never died. Please like and subscribe as it really helps me as a creator. Thanks for the question and for watching!

Any updates on your Mach-e? I have a 2023 prem er awd and worried about this issue

It's the 4th time I've had this happen. The first time it was towed to the Dealer for about a week. I am not expecting perfection with new technology, but not this. Best of luck to you. My only advice is to keep it charged or plugged in whenever possible, especially overnight in colder weather. Thanks for watching and the comment.

It's not the size of the battery that's a problem. It's the regulator..... or the software.
@MoreBear
@MoreBear 5 месяцев назад
It could be, but the battery being less than half the physical size and having less than half the capacity AND reserve capacity of a regular battery can't help things. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
@randyXLT
@randyXLT 5 месяцев назад
@@MoreBear It may be half but not less then half the size. It's still 330 CCA. It's more than enough for smaller cars. But everything has to work right. If it was genuinely the battery, then a bigger more powerful battery would just last longer but the problem would still rear it's ugly head. The vast majority of Mach-E owners do not have a battery problem.
@MoreBear
@MoreBear 5 месяцев назад
I still think the problem is with the reserve capacity. CCA is irrelevant in an EV (no starter motor or combustion engine). If there was more reserve and more AH to begin with, the battery would last longer between charges. I have Milwaukee batteries that have more AH than this lawn mower battery. @@randyXLT
@randyXLT

@@MoreBear Hmm, the higher CCA the more reserve you have. I think they go hand in hand. What needs to happen is that the big lithium battery needs to charge up the 12 better [or more often]. In a good working EV, [like mine], after about 2 days of not driving at all, something kicks on and charges the 12 volt. Maybe some are not working correctly. Mine works good.
