Great Vlog, very interesting and informative. Thank you

If you still have the Mach-E, hope you got your adapter. Now you get the full 500 amps, so full charging speed for it. And of course, now all those other V3's and V4's available to you.

Good video. Thanks. Crazy how you can see four states on the map. The next nearest state to me, Nevada, is three hours away at 80 MPH. Crazy seeing all the green on the side of the road. Only desert here.

Brilliant info in this video. And, to confirm, during some of the ride, you were in Unbridled mode, no? Would the battery have lasted longer if you only used Engaged mode?
@EVandMe
@EVandMe Год назад
The drive modes don't have much impact on range, especially if doing a lot of highway and cruise control. Unbridled gives you slightly better throttle response, but isn't going to have a huge effect on efficiency. I usually keep it in unbridled and forget about it.

Hey! Im interested in getting a Mustang Mach E extended range with AWD 351(hp). Im kinda torn betwen that or a Kia ev6 awd. Have you tried both? For me I think the interior quality looks better on the mustang with better material choices than the EV6 but I might be wrong. What do you think? Would you recommend this car? Nice channel btw!
@EVandMe
@EVandMe Год назад
Hey! I have tried both, I've spent more time with the sister car Ioniq 5, but they are basically the same. The EV6 you get a little more features like a heat pump, that make the car more efficient in the winter and things like cooled front seats not available on the mustang. I like the mustang interior slightly over the EV6. You can't go wrong with either. Kia has a better warranty. Mustang gets the $3750 federal tax credit. EV6 can technically charge faster at DC fast charge stations, Mach-E has the bigger battery. Ford typically less depreciation than Hyundai Kia. Maybe rent one of each on turo and live with them for a few days each? Keep me posted on what you decide.
@UgglemannenFTW
@UgglemannenFTW Год назад
@@EVandMe Thanks for the reply really appreciate it! Does the lack of heatpump affect the mustang much in the wintertime? Will do!
@EVandMe
@EVandMe Год назад
@@UgglemannenFTW I tend to focus more on efficiency rather than range. How many kwh are used per mile, is the new MPG. The Mach-E is far less efficient in cold weather than EVs with a heat-pump ford over compensated this by giving it a huge battery. The usable kwh in the Mach-E (91kwh) is~15% larger than the EV6 (77.4kwh) so range wise you will probably get close to the same in the winter. The Mach-E outperforms its estimated (EPA) efficiency in warm weather but no even close in winter. but you will get more range in warm weather with the mustang. The Kia EPA rating seems aggressive.
@bigoldjim4696
@bigoldjim4696 Год назад
One thing to consider, the EV6 charges MASSIVELY faster. Mach E is a nice car, not a great road trip charger. EV6 is about as fast as they get with a couple of (very expensive) exceptions.

This OBD tool: amzn.to/3P1lDjH And this app: (Car Scanner pro) play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ovz.carscanner The same app is available for iphone too but you need this OBD tool amzn.to/43xuhuN

There was a charging update between 4.2.5 and 4.2.6
@EVandMe
@EVandMe Год назад
Yup, I got both now. The charging one seems to be a duplicate of an older one, that supposed to limit "charger fault" with failed handshake between the car and station.

What was the cost of using that Tesla magic dock ?
@EVandMe

It may vary by location . This one was $0.49/kWh or $0.39/kWh if you have the $13 per month membership which I don't.

Hey buddy,what is the name of the adapter, for a tesla charger?
@EVandMe
@EVandMe Год назад
There are only a few superchargers in NY and CA that have the "magic dock" so CCS cars can charge at them. They are slowly expanding this, you have to download the Tesla app to operate then.

@@Dominikmers you're welcome. One thing to know, it's not cheap. It was 50¢ per kWh or $13/month + 40¢ per kWh. The speed for me maxed out about 120kw.
@Dominikmers
@Dominikmers Год назад
@@EVandMe oh wow,what do you recommend,I mean what charge station?
@EVandMe
@EVandMe Год назад
@@Dominikmers personally I recommend doing 99% of your charging at home (or work). For the few times you need a DC fast charger use whichever is available (100kw+) to give you the best route. The Tesla station is expensive but more likely to work. EA stations are hit or miss due to reliability, chargepoint are usually decent but inconvenient locations. EVgo I have limited experience with. Use 'a better route planner (ABRP) ' to figure out the best route options.
