***** definitely not just basing my opinion on the power since they have done nothing but gone up since '93 : ) Looks/sound/power mix, in no particular order. The Mach 1 and '99-'01 Cobra IMO are the best sounding mustang regardless of the power they make stock, especially the mach 1 once opened up. The '03-04 cobra's look and easy ability to add power is hard to beat. Sounds like 2017 will be the year my opinion changes... Never thought I'd see a factory turbo cobra lol. I'm liking the new slim body, we will see how it performs.

***** ehh, it's hard to "clone" forged internals. It would cost more to build an 03-04 clone replica (exact specs) than just buy a cobra.The 4 valve sounds so much better than the 2 valve engine in the saleens. I agree the saleens look good, but doesn't have that stance the cobra came with stock. The mach's had forged crank and aluminum block, which makes it sound so unique when opened up.

***** They are expensive (03-04 cobras) but they are very limited, and with svt out of commission for as long as they were the price was understandable ... suspension rear end transmission add it up and you are better off buying a cobra lol. Don't get me wrong, I think building your own car is priceless and people can do whatever they wish, but if you are going to buy a car to drive daily or weekends, these are my thoughts. I like to hear how the motor sings (you can tell a lot just by listening to it), IMO the 03-04 mach1's sound the best, 99 and 01 cobras 2nd. I agree anything more than 450rwhp is just a waste on the street... the drag strip is a totally different situation. I'm talking about every day driver. The parts used in the 2valve just don't stack up (stock) against 3 and 4valves. The 2003 gt, and the 2003 cobras are just totally different cars. IMO it shows with the appearance. I am a bit partial to svt. I worshiped the Lightning (had an 01 L laying down 400 at the wheels, and a buddy with an 03 that put down 490, which back then was astronomical lol) and cobras in my late teens early 20's, so I am a bit biased haha. Had buddies with terminators, bullits, and machs so I've had some experience around the different vehicles/motors. Not to say that I know more or experienced more than anybody else, so don't get me wrong. These are just my opinions from my experience.

***** don't count that little v6 out haha. That v6 track pack car is no joke (even sounds good for a v6), and IMO a better buy than most pre 5.0 gts.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Nobody cares about whether the 3.7 could kick the 90s V8's bone stock and there's no reason to compare the technology of an 15 or above to a car that's close to 20 years old.

The first week I got my GT, I was in a parking lot and some people came up and told me they really liked it and everything. I was all proud and glowing and shit since this is my first car with kick to it. So being the cool kid I was, on the way out I decided I'd do a killer burnout to show those gentleman just HOW cool. In the past I've owned a manual 'sports car' that had tiny power and was FWD, so I figured I knew what I was doing! Rev'd up to like 4k and just DUMPED the clutch while pulling out+flooring the throttle. Thankfully the Gods were looking out for me that day as my dumb ass left the traction control on. The engine ROARED...traction controlled kicked on, the tires did a dainty chirp...engine shuttered...and I limped off slowly.. Nowadays I understand that car will spin freely if you gingerly let of the clutch let give it a quarter throttle if the wheel is turned a hair. A 4K-RPM to dump to full throttle? I would have spun around hard enough to get whiplash in a neck-snapping donut before twirling freely over the median like a low flying helicopter lol. I may have looked like a douche from the traction control arrested burnout, but that is infinitely better than ending up on a mustang hitting crowds meme xD. I didn't even hurt the transmission or even the clutch like my dumb ass should have! But yeah, if you GOTTA exit in style...first, make sure there are no cars in the adjacent lanes so you're not putting other drivers in danger based on your ability to maintain your lane while spinning tires (Very important. I understand you can't always 'take it to the track' and that there are times one simply MUST hoon. But do it responsibly in a way that ensures you're the only one who'll pay for your stupidity if you lose control) Secondly, calmly pull out from parking lot and line your car up in the lane while accelerating like normal. Third: (fully depress clutch + blip throttle a tiny bit (a tiny bit! don't attempt a 4k clutch dump) + (pop clutch + release gas) + slam throttle after clutch (gotta do the clutchwork fast 'cause you'll eat it up if you ride it during this). It'll smoke 'em for as long as you don't let off the gas/until you need to shift or back off from redline, and you won't go wiggling all over the place like a garden snake on meth. Don't be a meme, stupid Mustang drivers hurt all of us. Even better, don't do ANY of that shit. People will be more impressed by a serious driver who has enough self control not to showboat than they are by a kid kicking up rubber.
