Unfortunately a lot of people are not aware that they're not truly free. 💕 Pople think because they got their independence, and the Queen is still Head of State for Jamaica, they think that's good enough. but, in fact like you said, Jamaica truly need to be independent away from the Crown, away from England.. Jamaica needs its own sovereignty. It's about time for Jamaica to becomes a Republic, and do away with the Queen's rule all together. I thought when Prince Philip visited Jamaica, he was going to address the issue and did a transition of power from England being the ruler of Jamaica, . to Jamaicans governing themselves. A lot of people assume all these Caribbean and Western Nations have gotten independence from the colonial rulers but, they have not. England still pulls the strings on a lot of those countries in the Caribbean as well as the West Indies, they are the real power behind it all, and a lot of people don't realize that black people are still not free. Until the government of Jamaica rise up and say no more, the people want true freedom, true Independence, then the status quo. will continue. Most people with a functioning brain who think about things deeply would have already thought about all that he said. I live in Grenada and its the same thing. Every indepedence day I have these thoughts. So if we all can understand this, the next question is..what do we do about it?? That is the part I don't have the answer to.
Same thing here in the Bahamas.. We are not an independent nation! We are a self governing nation.. The presence of a governor general in any country should automatically let you know that they are not truly independent..

Unfortunately, most of us are either too apathetic, just plain stupid, or are so invested in the colonists game that nothing will change. The few of us who do care will speak on these things, but without unity of the masses, nothing will change. I've lost hope in my fellow people. U can cooperate with England without completely sealing up ties and then u cannot stand alone as a working system of government without the help of the so called first world (England). U cannot rule out the fact that, the British system is solid and why do I say so, not every country in this world will survive turbulence like in the UK and remain steady; its only an established system of government . Politicians like to create divisions yet do not have complete and generally acceptable solutions to their country's issues. If Jamaica has a system that is not working now, then the posibility of a worst system may happen when u completely block ties with the UK. Yes muta the crooked system was when they capture Jamaica from Spain they vested all lands to the Crown- called crown lands. They operate the colony just like England under feudalism under the system called Socage or Burgage -feudal tenant of land by tenants. When they came the early setters got land patents -freehold tenants So the crown is regarded as the lord and all lands rented to the tenant who has to pay an annual fee (annual property taxes). When you get a title it’s only a title of possession not ownership. That is why the government has the right to take ownership of any unclaimed estate-Escheat. But this is why you know Jamaica is not independent because the Crown can still have claim to any property if there is no will or legal successor, under a system called Bona Vacantia. Look on the Min of Justice website it tell that. The crooked Crown agent -British Accredited Register(BAR) lawyers know all this but they swear allegiance to the crown when they call to the BAR. Why would you be independent and have to register to practise law in Jamaica.
