Collider's own Perri Nemiroff chats with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem director Jeff Rowe about his new addition to the iconic franchise.
Rowe addresses why Superfly isn't Baxter Stockman, discusses how TMNT embraces imperfection and experimentation in its animation, walks us through the pros and cons of capturing voice performances for an animated feature with the actors in the same room, and loads more!
Mutant Mayhem stars Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, and Brady Noon as the titular turtles alongside Jackie Chan, Ayo Edebiri, John Cena, Seth Rogen, and Ice Cube among others.

as someone who has literally watched the film 3 times since it's release and has been obsessively watching behind the scenes + promotion content, i have to say this is by far the most well researched and engaging interview for mutant mayhem i've seen! the questions were really fun and unique and you can tell the interviewer was actually passionate about the turtles and excited to be there!

I’m hesitant on this as a fan of the comics but this was very insightful.

I think it was way too bold of them to drop Splinter’s history in Japan. It’s a key part of the franchise. Still going in open-minded but that’s not cool.

I’m glad your going in open mind that’s the point, plus your not the one who made this, a lot of other people think that this back story may be dope and could turn out to be a dope story. If your not one of them then don’t throw them your money and time to go see their film they spent their hard earned time to make. I’m not saying your opinion isn’t valid but just straight up saying it’s not cool, now that’s not cool. Neither is the paragraph I’m sending, but I wanted to speak my mind, because this story is cool. And I don’t even like Japan lmao.

Without the splinter ourku saki orgin when they do introduce shredder he will never hold any real weight going forward and we all seen the atrocity that bayverse did when they made them learn ninjitsu out of a freakin book

I think the reason why Baxter stockman isn’t super fly is because of 1:it would way to obvious for the hard core TMNT fans so they pulled what the IDW comics did with the fly(fly-borg part fly and part cyborg double referencing what Baxter stockman has become in TMNT in the 80s show and 2012 he became the fly but in 2003 comics and I believe in the mirage comics he became a cyborg) 2:they will turn Baxter into a cyborg

I'll bet that they're eventually going to use the cyborg idea of Baxter Stockman's evolution. Also obviously that Utrom woman will be revealed to be a skin suit for a bodiless brain.

This is gonna suck, just like every other rendition since the original from the 80s.. U want a successful TMNT? Make it as close to the original as possible.. the fans will love it..

@RTZenray

@@RonnieEverette ok that’s just stupid. Anything that isn’t exactly like the original is bad? This franchise has existed for around almost 40 years so change will and should happen. Ether way I’m done arguing.

"U want a successful TMNT? Make it as close to the original as possible" Not at all true. The 80's cartoon was by far the most successful version of the TMNT and it deviated radically from the original comic books.
