An ESP32 based casual open source smartwatch with
WiFi 2.4 Ghz and 4.0 Bluetooth.
1.7 inch IPS LCD display, bright enough in daylight(non-touch).
44mm in size and 12mm in depth, fits on any wrist size.
2 hardware buttons, both are customizable.
Vibration and NeoPixel for notification
Widerange of changeable watch bands.
Scratch resistant front glass.
4 pin docking connector with serial and power.
Easy to build and modify the software.
Update the software using a mobile or PC using OTA.

I like the minimalist HW design and I appreciate the detailed instructions. I still think waspOS needs to be ported for ESP32 to take full advantage of the hardware, Also a micropython ecosystem can bring more developers into the project. The current stand of waspOS maintainer regarding new ports is for someone to take ownership of the micro-controller, Perhaps get it booting and then engage with the community to take it forward. I got my hands full with other projects, Perhaps would look at porting waspOS to ESP32 when I could accommodate it.

On second thought, Micropython already supports ESP32 so all that's required for making waspOS work on mutantW is to get the display and sensor drivers working.

Great job! The watch has great feedback, but lacks one thing in my opinion. If if had an accelerometer.gyro (ie mpu6050) It would have the makings of a great activity tracker. I have a need for a programmable activity tracker for training purposes and I like the esp line of microprocessors. You have everything else. Nice.

I never thought of it. I heard of the ESP-CAM. I don’t think it’s possible to fit a camera with current design.

Hi! iv'e download your mutantw watch but unfortunatley when i tried to print it i asked them to assemble it and they said i need two files i got the part list one but i also need the placement coordinates one can i have it pls?

Assemble the cob you mean? If so then you need to generate it from the pcb file. You can do it by downloading eagle pcb software and selecting the placement file. See a related video about it

I don’t think so. If there was no button then it might be possible.

@@mutantCybernetics I think I could be possible if one use silicon as protection. It should be pretty easy to design a mold for cast the silicon around the watch display.

No that’s not the problem. Those 2 buttons in the side are the issue. Those waterproof watches you see have a design technique that can’t be possible with 3D printed or casted silicone.

We literally have flying cars now and already smart watches you can see pictures on, what is the point of this clunky 1980s led display? I've seen hotel clocks that had better displays.

This is a DIY project, you can freely change the display yourself to whatever part you could source and write code for it. It is open sourced, not a product like a flying car built by a multimillionaire company lmao
