Mutation Phasor II | Electro-Optical Phase-Shifting Pedal With Feedback Circuit | $149 USD
Accurate recreation of a swirly phaser made famous in the experimental era of the 1970s
Nashville-based producer & engineer Sean Power from The Hilson Studio & guitarist Chris Condon (Billy Ray Cyrus, Blanco Brown, Gayle, James Droll, Logan Mize and Jon Mullins) explore all of the vintage vibes to add depth, wobble, swirl, or “instant funk” from the Mutation Phasor II pedal.
The Mutation Phasor II features the electro-optical phase shifting, variable rate, and ultra-analog feedback controls of the 70s legend. Delivering all of the vintage vibes of the original phaser pedal, Mutation Phasor II allows you to add depth, wobble, swirl, or “instant funk” to guitar, keys, bass, or anything you can dream of. To deliver a true-to-spec recreation of the circuit, the Mutation Phasor II is built with premium components including classic RC4558P op-amps, vintage-style diodes, carbon resistors, and film caps. Housed in an ultra-tough steel case, the Mutation Phasor II delivers lush studio sound in a road-worthy build.
To deliver the authentic, experimental experience, the Mutation Phasor II brings back all of the original controls. For ultra-rich swirly phase shifting, the “Depth” control allows you to vary the width of the sweep range - delivering deep modulation expected from a vintage all-analog pedal. Increasing the depth control adds width to the frequency range of the effect, impacting higher highs and lower lows. Easily change the speed (or rate) of the phase-shifting effect to create more or less “wobble” in your tone - from 1/10th sweeps per second (slowest) to 18 sweeps per second (fastest). Increasing the “Feedback” control adds electric feedback to the “wet” phase-shifting signal. Increasing the feedback control creates a more intense phase sound with a particular emphasis on the sweeps, especially noticeable at slower rate settings.
Like all Warm Audio gear, the Mutation Phasor II is meticulously hand-tested and inspected by trained technicians with a passion for making music in Austin, TX USA.

WARM AUDIO, I hope to see the Warm Audio Optical Mutron Flanger coming down the line soon. Adding polarity output jacks to get different phase angles helps with the wide stereo spread 180 degrees + or -. You can add these to the Mutron Phaser II pedal and Mutron Flanger pedal so you get Wet + 180 output jack, Wet -180 output jack, Wet In phase output jack.

Warm audio is the one brand that I will always simp for. A brand that cares both about quality/sound and aesthetics. To the point where their audio cables are even beautiful. Now I’ve given suggestions before, and I dunno if my suggestions lead to some of the new products you have since you literally made exactly what I asked for, but here’s another. Moogerfooger pedals. Please! Moogerfooger pedals. I need them! And I don’t want to spend more than a new car to get them. Lol

The only pedal those manufacturers make that comes close is the EHX Bad Stone. Unfortunately, it's not a low noise pedal and the sweep can't match the Mutation. I've had both, currently have the Mutation, and I don't see myself going back to the Bad Stone. It's nice not having to worry about RFI, when using a phaser.

Wait…somehow I knew you guys would make a MuTron pedal and not mention anybody BLACK that used it. HELLO Bootsy Collins, Stevie Wonder, Ray Parker Jr, George Duke, Wah Wah Watson. I’m really tired of Black people being left out of the legacy of music once somebody white uses it.

Hey Ron! The variations of this original pedal were used by a ton of incredible artists. However, according to our research, several of the artists you mention used the Mu-tron Phasor lll and the Bi-Phase. We take historical context very seriously and try to never invoke the names of artists unless we can substantiate that they used the exact gear that inspired our recreations, to do otherwise would be dishonest marketing. We would love to include more artists that used the original and welcome any links that verify it. Please feel free to email us at marketing@warmaudio .com.

Ok way to split hairs. Nobody associate Billy Corgan with the Mutron.

@ronrobins3513 Eddie Hazel used an MXR Phase 90 and/or a Small Stone with an Echoplex and a Cry Baby. ALSO according to George Clinton most of the trippy delay and other effects threaded through his solo on “Maggot Brain” were added by Clinton in the mixdown. "When Eddie played originally it was over a more traditional slow band jam," Clinton recalls.
