I now know that the Disney ugly duckling was a Trumpeter swan, not a Mute. But Disney mis-colored the swan beaks. They should have been black beaks like the Trumpeter's, not orange like the Mute's.
there were a ton of them on a small lake that my dad and stepmom used to live on. one night, when i was visiting them, my stepmom had gone to bed (it was late); my dad had been talking with me and left me on the back porch to retire, and I stayed outside smoking and listening to these guys. imagine this noise times like 50 or more of them. LOL! every now and then they would quiet down, and then somone would start squawking and they ALL would start going! It sent me into a fit of laughter so bad that my stomach hurt and tears were coming out of my eyes! LMAO
The original swan was a mute, because the author of "ugly duckling" was a danish. It is like Bambi, the original is a roe deer, Disney changed it to a whitetail, because there are no roe deers in america. Maybe Disney also changed the swan species.
Tupolew Tu-154 Actually Roe Deers do live In North America and Mute Swans also live in North America (Mute Swans are a nonnative species and are considered invasive due to their lack of kindness, they are large and aggressive towards both Humans, animals, reptiles and other birds they mainly go after the Canada geese and chase them off though Canada geese also try to fight off the swans)
Quite loud, aren't they? Our local park has several of these swans, but I have never once heard them loud like this. Usually the Canada geese are louder. XD

The Whooper Swan sounds like someone trying to play a trumpet, too, I named one that wintered here in Waterford, Ireland a few years ago, "Satchmo" because of the sound it made. A Swan can't really bite you as such, they don't have teeth but a serrated edge on their bill.
Absolutely wonderful, great birds although we don't get any Trumpeters here in the UK. I'm watching this video with someone who was constantly moaning about the noise, 'noisy and a pest' was his comment, I did point out that there's only one noisy pest on the planet, humans! :)
I wish this video was longer I really love and like swans. Some day I’ll find some trumpeter swans and make my own long videos. Mute swans will always be my favorite though
No no no no Firstly Yes some dinosaurs involved into birds But most birds Were mostly just fish then they evolved to be on land And then they grew wings and then they became well a bird anyway All birds are closely related to dinosaurs... but still most birds like swans Were one of those birds who were once a fish... also Swans mostly are aggressive because you got too near to there babys/nest
Because they sound like trumpets 🎺. Probably also to distinguish them from other species of swan like mute swan that just hiss like snakes & make snorting sounds.
