About a day ago I left for home again after a stay with my girlfriend in Japan. As I was flying through the stratosphere in the arctic circle over Siberia at night, I opened my window shades and I saw the moon just over the horizon and a dark starry sky. I played this song and the lyrics couldn't have been more precise. I cried.
Totally forgot about these guys. Bill Burr recently mentioned them on his podcast and I decided to come check them out since it's been so long. Seems I've been missing out. This is flawless.
I found Mute Math about 7 years ago and the evolution to this song is awesome, I'm loving the new sound, however Control is still one of my early favorite songs by them
This is a perfect song. It's so bittersweet and immersive and emotional. Those vocal harmonies are incredible. Thanking my friend every time I listen to it for sending it to me! Amazing job with every single element, y'all.
I full agree, Mutemath should definitely be the main act. It seems Twenty One Pilots is more popular, but Mutemath is definitely a more mature, better band in their music. One of the best bands I've ever seen live. Not knocking 21 Pilots at all but I agree with the others :)
oh i cannot even torture myself by listening to 21 Pilots, their music is just tuuuurrible. MuteMath is on a WHOLE different level musically and creativity wise.....I saw these guys LIVE back in 2006, and 10 years later they're still killing it! such endless creativity! one of the top 10 bands of our time. an epic show would be MUSE AND MUTEMATH : ) imho
Again, why isn't this song on the radio all the time. I should be hearing it more than once a day on LIVE 105 here in the San Fran Bay Area. What's up?!
@@bennyhill8186just cause I dont feel like digging it up and potentially going down rabbitholes, could you, if you wanna, give me a rundown of their beliefs? I just found this band and them seem lovely. Just based off of their lyrics that is.
When I hear this song it reminds me of my grandfather. He was really sick and then one morning, my grandmother called us to tell us that he was getting worst, and they didn't live close to us, we were not going to make it on time at least by car. We didn't have money to buy airplane tickets, but my uncle bought them, for us, to see him one more time. I had never been on a plane, neither was my brother, and being up in the clouds was something I'll never be able to explain. But there was something missing. The possibility of never being able to speak again with him, was so terrifying, all I wanted was to bring him close to me and tell him how much I loved him. He was suffering, and I could feel it inside me. When we got there they didn't let us in. And I could not see him again. I wish I had just picked up the phone and called him. Talk about anything. And now, when I hear this song, well you know, it represents everything I felt up there :(
Everyone is wondering why they aren’t more popular, but if you’ve followed them from inception and their musical roots, you’d know they got blacklisted for their personal beliefs, tho they don’t bash anyone with them and keep them personal, it still will keep you off radio
Me trae una sensación de poder hacer muchas cosas, también se siente algo tranquila y con fuertes partes durante los tonos de la canción. Eso lo hace una canción muy interesante y ya se volvió en una de mis favoritas. Saludos desde Perú- Lima 🥰
Just discovered these guys from the Twenty One Pilots concert. I haven't been to mine yet but I am excited to see both Mutemath and twenty one pilots. Great job guys! Keep up the awesome work!!!
your debut album was a masterpiece and listened to it 24/7 that year - i didn't like the 2nd album so i left as a fan and assumed you split up - looked you up today and found this album and now i'm back - fingers crossed for the future
These guys are so good, it’s a shame the entire world isn’t listening to them. I feel they’re the Wyld Stallions from Bill & Ted’s excellent adventure. It would save the world.
Saw them live at lollapalooza 2016 and they were fucking incredible, one of the highlights of the event. Good job guys!. One thing is their life performance is NOTHING compared to what they have in RU-vid.
More awesome and successful bands/artists (twenty one pilots) need to collaborate with also great and less known (underrated) bands/artists (Mutemath) :)
