On Tuesday, May 28, I started going through the locks of the Champlain Canal on my way to Lake Champlain. In mid-afternoon, I passed through Lock 5 and stopped for the day on a small floating dock just past the lock. While I was doing things around the boat, I had my radio on, so I could hear the approach of another boat from the south. I hurried over to the lock with my video camera to shoot this footage of the boat being locked up. If you have questions about how locks work, this video should answer them. Enjoy!
