Seeing the lyrics of this song saddens me, at first I thought they are missing someone, but no. It's about Golden Child wanting people to look to them and wannabe someone else because they feel they lack something (I mean some people do look at them, but it's not enough as you know K-Industry can be harsh) or wannabe someone who can be worthy of or reach their limits. ;-; It makes me sad, like please, pay attention to Golden Child. EDIT: Adding my full detailed analysis of Golden Child's Wannabe lyrics. Full detailed: (Long post ahead!) In my stand, WANNABE is about Golden Child who wants to be "THAT" successful group just like the rest of successful groups in K-Industry, it is apparent in their -3rd, I'm not sure if it's the third lmfao- catchy as hell Chorus line: "I wannabe you." (I want to be you) and "DAT DAT DAT" (That) (Feel free to insert who THAT successful group they might be referring to), but they cannot be THAT for some circumstances (e.g. they cannot be THAT because they are their own, people missing them out, not participating in trendy survival shows, perhaps wrong timing in terms of coming back, too lazy to memorize to the point they're forgotten, etc.). But that's not all, perhaps WANNABE also discusses how they want themselves back, maybe because they feel they are straying from their original selves. WANNABE's line also discusses *US* (not limited to non-Goldenness or Goldenness itself) why? See this breakthrough lines: "I’ve lost my smile . I’ve forgotten what it’s like to be happy. I do admit woollim really genius when making music. They have their own style to make music is good to listen, and the importance thing is they always want every single person in group to develop their own singing skils by writing their own lyrics, improving their dancing and also improving their own voice. This new album has been able to bring out the talent of each and every member! All the vocalists are enchanting! The layers of vocals that come through one after the other is so full and multidimensional! Joochan takes the lead as Jaehyun and Donghyun and Jibeom follow through waves of vocals. Daeyeol’s voice intensifies while complimenting the other vocalists. Y and Seungmin have beautiful pitches that just go back and forth to bring even more layers of vocals! Bomin harmonizes. Jangjun and Tag have such great sound as rappers that is both high pitch and low pitch and so strong. These boys have brought it and proved to be one of the best KPop groups. They are reaching more and more success through their new sound and image. If that wasn’t enough they also dance like the gods. They are truly from the same fabric as INFINITE!! Congratulations as we all continue to support these talented artists!!!
