omg i am really ashamed at myself for not knowing about the chaser, let alone this amazing group, until now. i came here after i saw sungyeol 😍 in a kdrama (hi school love on) and this song has snatched my wig and sanity.
7 years have passed and this song is still so iconic. NO GROUP has made a song better than this one, the choreo, the song, the melody, the beat, the MV, the visuals, their voices.
I agree, nowadays most kpop Mv's seem to sound the same or have a similar aesthetic. Groups like U-kiss or Infinite never truly got the attention they deserved. Truly sad, and they're not the only ones.
I know right? Their hairstyle in 'Destiny' is probably the worst (except for Gyu, it's his best for me XD) Yeollie's hair is so ugh! It makes him look old. Not liking Myungsoo and Sungjong's hair without bangs. Dongwoo too. Huhu. Hoya looks hot forever. I actually love Namu's hair that has a space in his bangs :D
i kind of disagree with you guys. i love sungjongs and sungyeols hair in destiny and i dislike it here. dongwoos hair in this mv is a keeper though (and his pink hair as well). i love myungsoos and woohyuns hair in this mv when its like spiked up (see their forehead type of hair). but woohyuns purple hair looks nice in the toheart mv though. i love hoyas hair for destiny. for sunggyu, i think all his hairstyles suit him. lol
Non-fans: INFINITE? Underrated? Not famous int’l, not won Daesang? Who? Meanwhile Billboard : #1 Billboard Best Boygroup Songs of the Decade, #3 Billboard Staff List Song
I love that Billboard actually looks at the talent in musicality because anyone could just mention the most popular right now to get praise from their fans as if it was hard work of 30 yrs lol but they chose a masterpiece like this, respect Billboard I didn’t know u had it in u
nah no reason to be rude to new kpop just because it's maybe not your taste. Kpop has changed so much through the years, no one era is more "real" than another. They all work hard :)
@@imjopping not sure about that when these bunch of new groups always lipsynch and could never really hit the notes as live singing while dancing. I dont see them working at all.
*Arguably the greatest K-pop song in existence.* I can't imagine any K-pop song this generation that even comes close to matching The Chaser's quality and overall groundbreaking nature.
Still the best K-pop song of all time. I can confidently state this as a big fan of many many groups back in my stan days. Coming back to this is releasing emotions I didn’t realize I still had.
@RiptideRambo Obviously everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I didn't think Supernova was that popular, though? Was that even made in a Korean version? I thought it was a Japanese only song.
@@flynas2000 What song is whose breakout song? Chaser was not a breakout song for Infinite (Be Mine was), and Supernova was not a breakout song for SNSD (Gee was).
Oh my goshh! Exactly the same with me! I thought he was serious and mysterious.. I felt like he had the same vibe as Hoya and L because of his looks and after watching his drama.. Then I watched their variety shows and dang, I was completely wrong! Hahah but still, I love his personality. He's so hilarious 😂😂
lol xD I can't stop laughing at ur comment here XD even Lee Jungyeop - Woollim CEO thought that he would be a-very-cool-boy when he looked at him... but 'till now we all know it's not true at all lol
+Ritika Sidhartha I remember that i watched the High School Love on ( I still don't know sungyeol),and he's attitude was really different in reality but he is still my bias ♥
greta cruz all of them except for L & Sunggyu are in the military, L is in a new upcoming kdrama and Sunggyu just came back from the military in January
Me too😭 I listening kpop for the first time in 2014 and didn’t like groups like SJ, Shinee, 2pm etc but then I hear Infinite and bammm I fell in love with the sound of their songs. Now I still like kpop but is soooo different, much more pop
Same😭. I just started to watch old groups mvs.. and im nostalgic now.. i miss those years.. so manyy good groups back then.. plus i was just 18 in 2010 when i first started to listen to it. Now im 30😭😭
Musik Fann You don't have to worry about that trouble maker unnie, I will take care of him. You will have enough trouble with those 6 for sure #INFINITE
may 15 was the 5th year aniversary of 'The chaser' Let's go back in time and remember with me: -Billboard choose "The Chaser" as Best Kpop Song of 2012 surpassing PSY, G-Dragon, Big Bang and 2NE1 that time. -Because of The chaser they were the first kpop group to be featured in the k-town column too (by billboard) - On May 15th, INFINITE SWEPT THE CHARTS with their title song "The Chaser" (Ranked #1 on: Mnet, Cyworld music, Bugs music, melon, Mnet soribada, olleh music) -INFINITE's The Chaser was been picked by Rolling Stone Magazine to be one of the "50 Greatest Boy Band Songs of All Time" -INFINITE was the first Kpop group to have been personally invited by Billboard to perform and interviewed at NYC Billboard studio (they performed The Chaser & Be mine) - Infinite won their first triple crown on M! Countdown for the The Chaser which achieved top spot on the charts for three consecutive weeks. -With The chaser they won: Song of the year, Best music video,Best male group (MAMA) Another thing to note about “The Chaser” is how it defined the Infinite style. This song saved kpop. Reviewers, ppl of other fandoms, world says that The chaser is the best kpop song of all time. Is a “masterpiece”, is the best way to describe the unbridled awesomeness that is Infinite’s The Chaser. And that’s what makes it a Legendary Song.
@@CheyanneTurner-hf6zq Kpop is doin great BUT nowadays Kpop is influence by western styles....i think only Infinite who maintain the real Kpop iconic style
Literally, one of the most solid k-pop songs of all time. I remember being in high school listening to this like CRAZY, having no idea who this group was, all I knew was that this song and choreo was so amazing, and the power of the chorus amazed me. And now years later I'm a full-fledged inspirit, proud of my boys for making it this far with all their hard work and sheer strength. I hope they get some rest soon
Omg me too! I listened to this in high school and instantly got hooked to it once. I didn't know what the group was and I just used the song when I go for a run and then i started diggin' into infinite! And I can never get tired of this song everything is SO ON POINT
+Camille Catalon SAME. I literally watched every infinite tv show ever after that trying to get there names. And when I finally did, watched a bazillion mvs and more shows. And then couple years later I went back to watch the first infinite tv shows I every watched and it was much more interesting cause I actually knew what was happening and who was doing what LOL
+Camille Catalon i actually didnt know who infinite was at all... the first time i had seen them was backstage at mbc in korea. i was their on a study tour (my professor apparently has the hookup) and i saw a BUNCH and when i say BUNCH i mean a fuck-ton of crazy dressed koreans... aaaaand thats when i realized they were all famous lol. They performed this song live, and i remember saying 'holy fucking shit, these guys are on point!! and this song is good who the fuck are they??" and ever since i tried finding them again so i could get an autograph but sadly i couldnt find them =( but i did get to meet teentop and ukiss though =) but i really wanted infinites autographs
MrEvldreamr LOL I promise that you are MUCH luckier than I'll ever be in my lifetime. The fact you even saw them live would only be a dream for me HAHA...
11-Ky Axel i signed up for a communications course at college, my teacher just hapened to be korean and had a communications course that wasmore like a 2 week vacation to south korea, that took us backstage to MBC and KBS to see how korean television was arranged. i met them backstage. they were all hanging around waiting to perform, i as able to talk to ukiss, teentop, g.na, JJ project, infinte, VIXX, snsd... and some other groups i cant remember... it was a super cool experience! especially ukiss... they were sooo fucking nice. Kevin is the biggest sweetheart ever, hes super friendly and nice and he speaks english. i think part of the reason i was able to get so close to them is bc im foreign and unfortunately im too old to be fangirling for teenage boys lol, so security didnt take me away, it was great to meet the guys and gals in korea that put on a show for us. My brother is currently stationed in korea and i always ask him if he says any celebrites there lol. Too bad i didnt go to MBC when exo was a thing...now that wouldve been cool
The comment sections of k-pop music video's should include more comments like this. Sadly K-pop is all about the dancing, music video's and fandoms (hands down for their performance, no offense). The fans may sense they're listening to at least a very good song, but forget to really listen to the music. I like the instrumentation, with that typically 80s guitars involved and, boy, that shepard tone is so cool. Amongst the best in K-pop.
Still the best Kpop song of all time. Classic, polished, straight to the point, high energy from start to finish, no trendy bullshit. This is Kpop at its peak and no song has been able to changed my mind.
And what do you think? This has been one of kpop's pride and joy treasures. Infinite's precise dancing and incredible harmonies were ahead of their time. There was nothing like it at the time.
It's a really good list actually Obviously you're going to disagree with it here and there multiple times, but overall it's definitely a great summary of the best Kpop this decade
this is my most favourite song in all languages i know combined....even though infinite isnt my main kpop band.infact im a bigger Led Zepplin fan than being an infinite fan.but still this is my anthem.
Infinite songs are the type of songs that u would play continuosly regardless of year and time but u'll never get bored and continuosly feel amazed by their talent. That's why they are called infinite. 😉
this song always so so nostalgic. I listned to this song after many years and the same feelings i had at that time are still the same i will always love this song!
Highkey one of the the most best songs in kpop. Catchy, well produced, A+ choreo, vocals on point, its just so well produced and infinite just slayed. I'm not even being biased here. The Chaser is a kpop classic and I'm so proud of infinite like wow. Wow.
ishahadd ahmed I think the eye is pretty iconic, but the Chaser will always be #1. All INFINITE songs are iconic people jut fail to appreciate good stuff.
I don't care how long you've been in kpop, you know either now or later this song is going to get stuck into your head forever. This is the bop, and will always be the bop!
That's really hard to say, this is one of my favorite ones but that year had banger after banger to what seemed every week from the entire kpop genre , what an inzane year to be a fan of kpop that was ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
The point in every Infinite choreography is not variety of styles or whatsoever, it represents the song itself. I like how the dance speak to the song. And the synchronization, need no word to describe. Only Infinite! ❤
I agree tho. Not someone who really care about dances, but I really like the gestures or actions in their dances. It matches the lyrics!! and so beautiful and elegant to watch! Simplicity with elegant touch. Hands down to INFINITE! The most beautiful gem in Kpop.
+Bloom Namu ikr. and this song's lyrics, dances, concept, outfits basically everything are so on point! p.s : INFINITE with their obsession tho. (lyrics reference). 😂
We grow up. One day, these artists will officially retire from the industry and would be replaced by new ones. Their fame will soon fade but not in the hearts of their fans. For the people who stayed with them and watched their growth, INFINITE will always be shining in their hearts, engraved and permanent. We grow up, we'll get old and soon start forgetting things but these songsㅡthese songs will always remain in our memories, forever. A lot of names will soon be forgotten but the name INFINITE will never be.💙
i still cant believe how fucking good this song is, so powerful and full of energy i just dont have enough words to describe it. it deserves better smh
The song is incredible, no doubt one of the greatest kpop songs of all time. But, people, the choreography.... seriously. IT IS FLAWLESS. I will never get over it. Smooth yet impactful, perfectly fitting the vibe of the song, each member getting their moment in the spotlight, GOD DAMN IT'S JUST PERFECT.
Oh gosh, I have this as my ringtone and I always end up not answering calls right away BECAUSE THIS SONG IS PURE GOLD I JUST CAN'T STOP MYSELF FROM LISTENING TO THIS!!!
aint no way yall are going to tell me this isnt The quintessential kpop song, its The best song in kpop history absolutely peak kpop no one has came even close
on top of that, im going insane over the art and lighting direction. that background and colors are so gorgeous and i feel like not enough ppl gives it the praise it deseves ALSO whoever styled the members did such an AMAZING job, i cannot say this enough the way the stylist was able to capture the individual member's flair and personality - so beautiful ugh
INFINITE, congratulations for having the best boygroup song in Billboard's Decade List! The Chaser is by far the best Korean song I've ever heard, second only to the best Asian song of all time, TVXQ's Rising Sun. INFINITE is the true definition of genre-bending and a critically acclaimed group.
Kim Sunggyu Is Bae and that dance I swear no group can be equal to infinite's dancing skills. Infinite is without a doubt the best group when it comes to dancing
I don't know why, but I'm crying. I'm generally crying. The song, it's a freaking masterpiece. I can't tell you the amount of times I've replayed this song, the amount of times I've listened to it. I can't tell you the amount of times I've fallen in love with Infinite. I can't tell you the amount of times I've looked at their dancing, and just wondered how. How they can dance like that. How they can sing like that. How can they train, how they beat the odds and actually became a surviving K-Pop group. I, I genuinely love this song. I love the one's who made it, who sang it, I love them. I love it.
Love this passionate post. As a new fan I love going back and seeing all the videos I missed throughout the years from this wonderful group, and one of my favorite things is to read in the comments how the fans are so supportive and loyal to the group and to each other. Makes me feel proud of joining the fandom! Keep it up! New fans like me love coming across this enthusiasm!

Charlie Gray I remembered a teaser for one of their MV made it to the front page of RU-vid & many people were asking "who is he" and "what's his name" (thumbnail was of L)
The rap part at 01:04 kills me every time. It just sounds so good, smooth and suiting to the song. You barely get that in kpop songs nowadays. They just throw a rap part in even though the song is not suited for that.
