Honestly, I thought this band had so much potential. Lack of response was cited as the reason for their disbandment. Perhaps the publicist/marketing team should be the only ones to go for their failed strategy to properly expose the group and their talents. Good vocals, energetic, fluid dancing, charisma - what's there not to like?
Truster ツ Yeah, I heard that lack of response was the reason, but I think that's craaazy. Why would their company disband them only after one song? They should have at least given them a couple chances, and tbh, I thought they got quite a decent amount of attention :/
FlyingAnime1052 The industry is very competitive, and the company I believe was too impatient. Dia has tremendous vocals. Watch her rendition of "Frozen" in perfect English if you haven't. I like So Yumi's solo song too. Bottomline, they ARE talented, more so than many groups that exist today. Overall, it's just disappointing to not see what Kiss&Cry could have become.
One of the better rookie groups of 2014 and they disband? What did their company expect on them? To match the same success of Miss A's debut? The company is stupid to disband an awesome group like this.
I honestly cannot believe that their company disbanded them after this song. They seem like they had everything: visuals, talent, and an excellent song. I don't understand the "not enough attention" bullcrap. I mean it was their debut what did their company want? Anyway i'm sad that they disbanded
+DameBau Yeah!!!! And they got alot of attention from international fans, but unfortuanly koreans didn't like the song, so it didn't well on digitals (because there wasn't any phisical copy of it).
Rubys datsall yeah that sucks. But it was their debut, i mean i don't think that many debut songs do extremely well digitally especially from a small company. Just wish their company hadn't given up on them so quickly.
Idk if you guys know this but Haena has now debuted with the new girl group Matilda. You should go check out their song Macarena I would like to see them get more attention ^-^
Adara Pullum yeah i saw her with matilda and i like all the members but Macarena didn't really grab my attention, so i'll wait and see what they put out next comeback.
+DameBau And such good vocals, too. I prefer a lower toned vocal, personally-not the whinny stuff, and they can sing. Such a waste. I only heard of them because they disbanded.
Still can't belief they are disbanded. They are so good. Even the song is great. Kpop is really unpredictable. Look at spica. They are not as popular there too. Glad that mamamoo get recognition. Vocal group mostly don't survive in kpop the way i see it.
Hey hey 👋 anyone still active here? Almost end of 2020 Christmas? How are you all. I am still here and listening to the masterpiece and miss them every year.
Really wish the ordinary k pop viewer was more interested in listening to good music rather than being a die-hard fan that worships their idols and their screen time instead of appreciating the song. I love their vocals and the latin big-band sound.
You missed the whole point. Concepts and all the visuals are just a distraction to numb your whole perception of the song, it makes you focus on the group, the choreography, outfits, etc. All of that stuff is marketing and capitalism to attract viewers, I know K-Pop is all about making money, but as fans we should be able to like a song for the pure enjoyment of being a good song. For example, I would still listen to Growl or Mirotic there were no music video, and had no idea who the groups that sang it were. The whole idea of obsessing over the band and their concepts is just marketing to make long-time consumers who will purchase and support their groups regardless of quality. That's the whole culture of K-Pop in a nutshell, and it's also the fun of it. But at least be aware that's what you're buying into.
***** 3. Is purely your opinion stated as fact, I liked the song before having a clue who sang it, or how well they danced. Since I'm a test group of 1 just like you, my liking this song without having ever seen their dancing invalidates your conclusion. I agree with Leon's wish, but ever since the creation of the television, a groups popularity has been as much about their appearance as the quality of their music.
I am a die hard fan of T-ara, but I always listen to and appreciate any good music, whoever they are. These girls are awesome. I hope to see much more of them.
When people talk about the best debuts they just name some top group because they only follow famous groups. But the truth is that Domino game and 1, 2, 3 by Purfles were one of top 10 debuts in history of kpop. It should be a rule that companies are forbidden to debut groups if they don't have enough money to support & promote group for at least 3 years and give them at least 2-3 comebacks per year. It can be done low budget. Since I discovered kpop in 2008 too many amazing groups disbanded after 1 or 2 releases... I'm still mad after 10 years that the company didn't support these girls. This was my favorite debut of 2014.
I can't believe Kiss&Cry disbanded!!!! ;_____; They're my favorite rookie group this year...and their song got a decent amount of views! I wish their company at least gave them 2 tries. Good luck to the girls. They're so talented I hope they can continue their dreams
I just found something weird about this group. Since Haena already left, we have 3 members left before they disband, which are Dia, Bohye and Soyumi. I found this trio is WEIRDLY similar to a legendary girls group S.E.S. by anything, especially look. Dia looks exactly like Bada, Soyumi looks exactly like Eugene, and Bohye looks exactly like Shoo. OMFG.
No,SM introduced a very talented and experienced girl group named the Grace in 2004,the female version of TVXQ.they had never been popular like girl’s generation.
I watched there live performers and I had to say their voice amazing and their dance full of energy .wow I never liked a girl group who had debut with sexy concept but I couldn't ignore their amazing performance.
The amount of potential they had! The amount of years I could have listened to this, and the amount of years they could have released amazing songs if they didn't debut so soon! 😭
This group actually debuted last year with a song featuring Shorry J and one of the members before she officially joined the group. 3 of the members have actually already debuted too. Dia was a solo artist for a bit. Soyumi was a member of VNT and another member was in a group called Bella. So each member does have experience.
Mr.Mr and Kiss&Crybare both extremely talented groups. Their company is doing an amazing job with them, I hope they can get the recognition they deserve soon
+Kathy Park the girls were against disbanding, the company pretty much gave up on them because they didn't reach the expectations they thought they would...by far the best song and debut of 2014, even better then the over hyped Red Velvet. Shows the difference when you don't have SM Ent money promoting you.
+whynot747100 red velvet's debut may have been overhype but the group has the skill to back it up unlike the extremely overhyped twice...but I can't help but say I'm sad to see these girls have disbanded
If they were promoted at a right time. Absolutely theyre gonna be on the top idol groups who have best vocal. Someone needs to take them back. I want their new song RIGHT NOW!!!
Their company should've promoted them better!!!!! They could've make them appear on variety shows, make more AWESOME songs like this, or maybe they should add a KILLER rapper (since most people like girl groups with rapper/s) AND HOW THE HELL DID THEY THINK THAT THEY WERE UNSUCCESSFUL?!?!?!?!
+hun han Stellar was super underrated, for example. Playback isn't very known, too. And Dalshabet, at least in the western world, wasn't really known until 2016.
This song appeared in the recommended for me section in youtube. What a great and catchy song, I'm instantly a fan and went to google about this group. Debut in Jan 14 and disband in Sep 14. What a short lived career. :-( competition must extremely be stiff in Korea. :-(
This is what Kpop needs, groups with talent in all the members, not just memberfull groups that doesn't even nothing and they are on top, beacause company. New groups like Ladies' Code, Spica, GOT7, B.A.P AOA, MAMAMOO and Kiss&Cry (and other fantastic rookie groups) will save the talent in Kpop.
Omg!! I can't believe I found this song again. Its been years since I last heard this :( It was way back when I was a new fan of kpop (just becoming a fan of exo and searched up random kpop songs). This song is still amazing up until now and the last time I heard this. Its too bad that this girl group didn't become big :( I'm sad that I only found out this now. But I will forever treasure this song. Hope the girls are fine even after they disband and get more recognition for their talent.
Damn, they disbanded? Didn't they have just this one song? A million views is like really good for a brand new rookie group from a small company. Like, there are groups that only get like 250,000 views.
This is my number 1 song of 2014 currently. I especially love the choreography after seeing other groups performance not up to par with their song. I hope for the best in 2014 for Kiss&Cry.
For new fans~ 0:36 DIA - red hair 0:44 So Yu Mi - black hair - appeared on MR.MR's "Do you feel me" mv - (maknae) 0:51 Hae Na - brown hair 1:36 Bo Hye - purple hair - (leader)
I see a bit of Jiyoung, Bada and even Leeteuk in the girls. The Bada comparison is valid though because they possess the same aura and confidence in themselves throughout this MV!! Amazing vocals, best debut in awhile. Really refreshing to hear a song set in the "lower" keys and a sexy + fierce image, compared to the higher pitched songs like AOA, Dalshabet and GsD and their sexy but cheaper look. all the best!! (p! s- soyumi is prettyyyyy~)
To be honest, I think it's a shame that they quickly disbanded after their single debut. I'm very, very picky about which kpop girl bands I like because honestly they're all pretty much the same but when I watched this, I like that their sexy concept is not too overdone. It's more of a sassy confident dancey vibe rather than just some girls moving around for arousement. I think their dance moves and vocals are pretty good and on point. I like the fact that you can tell they all look different and they equally share parts rather than one stealing the spotlight. I think this song is actually catchy. It's too bad their fame was snatched away in one second. I would like to say I wish to see them come back in the future but I don't know...the Kpop Industry does eliminate bands very fast. I wish I could have seen more of their potential. 2ne1 and D-Unit so far has been my picky bias because they stand out to me. I wish Kpop would have given these girls a chance to last longer and see them rise.
Nice and refreshing, the girls sound great, love Dia. Perfect debut! But they need to work with a well known producer if they wanna make it big. This is a good song, but not good enough, they won't get enough recognition just from their voices. They need the extra help from a big name producer which will increase their chances of success. Duble Sidekick and/or Brave Brothers should do their next song ASAP! I'd prefer BB since he's a hit waiting to happen pretty much every single time.
1M views and they disband because the agency said they weren't successful?? Wow, they were a great rookie group with great vocals. So sad to see them break up, hopefully they'll reunite sometime in the future.
