Hwasa was told she was too fat because she didnt fit koreas standards but in a concert this year i believe she talked about it and performed some songs it was really cool how raw she was about the whole situation. One thing she said was if i cant fit todays standards ill create my own and i think that is so amazing another reason i love her so much. idk which concert it was but if you have freetime to just watch and not react its pretty cool.

It’s true. Hwasa doesn’t fit the Korean beauty standards (I know, crazy), so she had to go against everything. She’s so confident and she showed how her features are also beautiful. Ugh, such a queen. I love her.

They also crush any genre: jazz, r&b, hip hop, pop, rock, classics etc. No other girl group has 4 Vocalists, 4 Choreographers, 4 Rappers, & 4 Writers/Composers. They also all have a huge part in their visual and concept, which most pop artists usually don’t. These 4 grown women are the best of the best in the industry. Hwasa didn’t really become popular until she guest starred on Korean reality shows “Hyena on the Keyboard”, where she co-wrote a hit song with Rapper, Loco & “I Live Alone”. The latter show helped non-fans of Mamamoo realize how down to earth, genuine & humble she is. Even though she’s a Queen & a baddie when she performs, she’s in reality super cute and softhearted. when mamamoo first made debut a lot of people (mostly Koreans) said that Hwasa was 'too ugly' and 'too fat' because she didn't fit the typical mold for a female K-pop idol. But she has amazing artists that she looked up to such as Rhianna and Beyoncé as she said, she "created her own beauty standard" because of the confidence they gave her. She's such a Queen.

And yes, Hwasa did receive a lot of hate to the point there was a petition to get her kicked out of the group back during their debut days. And some people still body shame her to this day. She’s been through so much, but now she’s apart of a successful group and is a successful solo artist.
