huge respect for MVL, a true gentleman. he can milk lot of time but instead he resigned immediately with his losing position. unlike Hikaru whenever he is on a hopeless position he will milk as much as time as he can then he would let himself get checkmated with 1 second remaining on his clock
I can see only one reason why this happened... I think Nihal didn't prepare for the match by studying MVL ... But I think MVL did prepare excellently. And outplayed in many games. Edit: I say this, bcoz in every interview Nihal says he didn't prepare much. So he always relies on his tactical abilities. I think he should do lot of prep for tough opponents like MVL,
Shouldn't have this match started earlier? It was like 11 pm in India when it started and lasted 4 hours. Its kinda unfair to Nihal, he must have been sleepy as hell
Bro you have no idea what you're on about. As an Indian myself and in the chess scene mvl is just far superior to nihal. Granted Nihal is good but he's new and has far too little experience compared to mvl who peaked above 2800. If you talk about peak fide rating he's world no. 7 whereas nihal doesn't even make it in the top 100
lame excuse. if everyone give this timezone thing as a weak ah excuse, just don't join an online tournament ever again. Nihal knew this and he doesn't make any weak ah excuse
