Absolutely love my Glitch. Can manipulate it so easy for flex shots, flat shots or turnovers. Lands so soft. Main thing is to trust it and snap your wrist with it. Took me a few days to get used to it and now I can throw it on a laser line to just over 200ft.
I bag the glitch and berg. Glitch mainly for warmups but also those short tee shots where I can rely on just a snap of the wrist and glide it there. Berg for more touchy FH approach shots, But def is a small flaw when you can't get a heavier version of the glitch.
I bag the glitch and I love it. It was a instant bag for me I use it in nearly all my upshots and I even use it as my putting putter for c2/circles edge. I have the confidence that if I miss its not going far past for that comeback. I've even gotten a few chain hits from 150 away in 15ish mph wind so the light 145g doesn't bother me at all. It's definitely a great training disc for learning the value of spin, so now all my discs have been flying better afterwards
Berg nation! Perfect straight to slightly stable! Comes in multiple plastics so if you need under stability you can go to the k3 plastic! AND in my opinion the best hand feel of lid style discs! #BergGang
I used to use the following DX Aviar Putt & Approach - my original and current putting putter. also use it as a throwing putter Classic Blend Warden - putting putter for awhile, but not anymore, but one of my favorite throwing putters DX Aviar3 (current approach disc) for my approaches. I recently got a couple of Glitches and am trying them out. Would never putt with it as it's too light and I don't like the hand feel for putting.I still like the Aviar3 best for < 150' with a tight space around the basket. I call it "The Brick" as it flies exactly like throwing an actual brick! Am really new to the Glitch, so haven't got an answer on it yet, but am trying it out for < 180' approaches. Thanks for another great video and thanks for sharing.
the day i tested out my glitch at my home course, it got pretty windy lol. in a tail wind it drops SO fast. it's my first lid type disc and i love it! made some pretty great upshots with it. holds an anhyzer line super well. because of the weight you can get some close range angles on it too. like a big tree or bush in the way of a little 40ft shot.
I actually just bought a glitch today! I have a polecat in my bag already and I love it so when I came across the glitch and saw that 7 glide, it was like the heavens opened up and said I needed to get it haha I haven't thrown it yet but I am excited to get out there and throw it!!! Great video sir, thanks for your input on the glitch.
Fantastic video as always!! I pre-ordered the Glitch after seeing the "trailer" for it. Touch upshots are exactly why I bag it. It is my first lid type disc and I absolutely love it. However, I am still getting used to it. It is, indeed, very light. I also find I can pull it to the right a bit. (If the basket is 12, it will fly towards 12:30-1:00) I also noticed this when throwing my friend's Polecat. Both thrown usually with a fan grip. Maybe something to do with its depth? Have to figure that out. Thank you again, Robbie. You never disappoint. Be blessed!!
Great content as always, RC. I'm going to but a Glitch as a result (sorry, no Polecat!). One idea for content for you might be imparting more spin. It kills me when I watch tournaments and see the Pros discs land and spin forever. Although I can't see my own it just seems like they might "poop out" then land/dive/stop flying. I haven't seen a decent video the focuses on the wrist motion in a backhand throw. Should we curl in? If so, when? Is this the same as "snap" and, if not, why? You might combine this with the between midrange & putter distance up-shots you reference. A standstill snap / floater could be a valuable thing. I just "throw it" using a form I've never thought about! Maybe there are some gems in my rant?
It is worth mentioning, Innova makes several catch and throw frisbees which happen to be PDGA approved for disc golf. Zephyr, Makani, Condor etc. slightly larger diameter than standard disc golf discs
Been waiting for this video and didn't even know it! I've been bagging a DX Polecat since about mid-summer and love it for warmup and approach. I've talked myself back from the edge of buying a Glitch a handful of times already. Still tempted to, but probably going to hold out for either more Polecat plastics or heavier Glitch options.
I love the halo polecat and yes I bag it. It’s still understable but it has juuuuust that slight amount of over-stability that lets you just about anything with it, besides throw very far.
I have a glitch, but I haven’t yet used it on the course. I got it because you recommended playing catch before a round. First I tried with a putter, but they hurt. Then I tried with an actual Whamo Frisbee, but they are too different from the disc golf discs both in hand feel and in how you need to throw it to get it to fly. I was hoping that the Glitch would be a happy middle ground, and it really is. Still a more harsh game of catch than with the frisbee, as it flies faster, but it is still catchable. Also, I can throw it like an upshot and it flies well, where the frisbee had to be all spin and no arm speed or it just turned and burned.
Help me spin Robbie. You spin me right round Sonic right round, when we throw down. Like a Polecat baby, right round. You spin me right round, Glitch right round. Throwin 400 feet down town.
I've definitely found that you can pump on a glitch without it turning over if you get the heavier weights of it. The pdga approval of the disc doesn't allow for it to go over 165g if I remember correctly. I have a feeling that if it did go to 175 it would be very over stable. Great disc to run upshots with. I typically use it for throw in runs when I don't forehand my Berg to do so.
I have a problem with lid discs, so I use the Condor for these purposes. Normal discgolf-rim, but other than that not very different from these molds in flight.
I'm rocking two older series polecats. That Dx gets gummy after 10 plus years. 170g and a 175g. I tend to throw it forehand and almost all my 50ft plus baskets are from cats. TEAM POLECAT BABY!!!
Have bagged Polecats for years now. Since I have no sidearm, I use it quite a lot for that soft short-mid turn, or a down hill shot, or when I feel I need to put a little touch on it... nothing holds that line better for me than the Polecat. Don't think I could bag a Glitch because of the light weight... nothing in my bag under 165...
I don't bag a lid type disc regularly. I have a love/hate relationship with them. My wife bags the birdie though. I have tossed those around and they are really straight flyers. The putting with them baffles my brain sometimes cause they go so slow but don't stop flying.
My brother picked a glitch up and after throwing it a handful of times, I was like "congrats on your new gyro polecat". The halo polecat is irreplaceable in my bag though.
I use to bag the pole cat many years ago b4 it got recognition it was a decent disc but not for me it was more the feel for it I'm getting a glitch so I'll have to see if that's for me when I get it I do like trying all the discs I can get my hands on
I used to have a L64 Beetle I liked, but did away with it because it was 156g like the Glitch. Used a Polecat for a while and then really liked a Zeppelin from Discraft. It feels a little more like a disc, but is wider in diameter like a frisbee. Just got a Sonic I’m excited to try!
Hey man, I bag a Polecat because of your videos and then seeing Foundation Nation doing the Polecat only round. Coming from an ultimate frisbee background as well, I love the feel of the Polecat on those approach shots and the sub 200' holes. I have a DX one bc that's the only plastic I could find and like you said, it's been beat in now and is very flippy. So I'm on the wait list at my local shop for when they get a new shipment in of the Halo Polecats since I can't find any online. lol I tried a DX Sonic about a year and a half ago and didn't really like it for the reasons you mentioned. It was very flippy for me. So much so that I lost it in a creek on the right side of a hole that I threw the Sonic on hyzer on. Flipped straight over and was gone. lol
Just started bagging the Glitch. I love it, but I do wish they could run it in heavier weights. Sadly, it sounds like they don't think its possible given how little material is actually in the rim and flight plate.
I currently bag the Armadillo from Lone Star Disc. The disc is so soft. It just drops right when you need it to. I can currently get it between 160 to 185 feet
Would love to hear your thoughts on the RPM Kea! I love the feel of the disc in magma plastic, and similar to your pig, it's my go-to overstable disc for upshots. As it has beat in and become less stable, it fits this slot for me.
I bag a halo sonic, a halo polecat and a glitch. Sonic for anhyzer floaters and straight downhill long putts, Polecat for hyzer shots and flat straight long putts, and glitch for straight shots and uphill long putts. .
People beat me to it, but the Loft Hydrogen keeps getting bypassed on these sorts of one speed videos. I would love to see how people think it compares.
This video was not about Hydrogen type of frisbees/discs. This was a comparison between three quite similarly flying glidey discs. Hydrogen is basically the opposite. It was created to have almost the least amount of glide as possible. If this video was about slow approach discs, then Hydrogen, Berg etc. would have been valid test discs. So Hydrogen and these are opposite in term of glide so the way those are thrown are very different. These you want them to stay in the air and Hydrogen you want to drop down.
Glitch for warm up, upshots, and glidey putts between 20-45 feet (okay -- no real worry about hitting the 45 footers, but easy put back on the bid). Full disclosure -- MVP Fanboy.
I sent u something on ig and was wondering if you had time to critique my form at all. Not worried about it tho I’ve definitely learned a lot watching your channel!! I appreciate your vid’s a lot I’m about 4 months new and your definitely the best at explaining so far. ❤
Very sad to hear the Glitch is a lid type disc. I can't stand throwing the lid discs. They get caught on my finger at release far too often for me to ever trust one.
I actually bag a Glitch! I use it for straight shots but you are correct that wind is a BIG issues for these discs. That being said it is also a warmup disc for me to throw with friends.
I bag my glitch for warm ups/touch shots/short tunnels. At first I wasn’t a fan of the light weight but once you adjust it’s so convenient to have something that will glide straight with such little effort. Getting my son 2 custom superhero stamped glitches for Christmas. I absolutely agree every beginner should start with a lid type disc.
Great video review! I love the glitch. I pre-ordered and bought a second glitch after my first game with the glitch. I have been putting with it and it does great unless it's windy, definitely too light for windy putts. On approach shots really stays where it lands. Durability is great and feels great in hand still after a dozen rounds.
I love my Glitch (144g) and you’ll have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands. I mainly use it for those times where I’m on the edge of C2 out to 80-90 feet or so (well outside my putting range) and there’s a low ceiling or something to that effect. Robbie’s right you do have to commit to the throw with it, but less than I’d have to with a 173g putter under the same circumstances. The same effort that’d leave me 30 feet short of the pin with a putter puts me next to it (or at max 15-20 feet beyond if I try to run it. He’s also right that it sucks on windy days.
Great video! I personally don't bag lid type discs often. Sometimes a Nova. I just can't get away from my super beat up Rhinos. I did get a Glitch and dyed it fun colors. It's nice just to have it for warm ups and to enjoy the fun factor. A max weight version could possibly replace my Nova.
I got a Glitch last weekend and did one round at a pitch and putt. I likely will bag it, but I feel like I need a couple more rounds with it to get a feel for the distance with it. It tends to slowly float on past where I aim. I'm not used to so much glide, but I love throwing it.
My lid type disc is a 1993 thumb-track Birdie 👍 made with the buttery DX old school plastic. It's a shame most people have no idea how awesome DX plastic used to be back in the early to mid 90's.
