Hey guys! Welcome back to my channel and thanks for joining me for another video. Yes, it’s another apartment tour video. I moved again last March to an apartment that is more suitable for me. It’s still a 1K but it is bigger than my last apartment. This apartment is 34m2. Like my other apartments it’s also a Leopalace apartment but unlike the ones before this one came with no furniture. This apartment costs ¥65,000 monthly, this includes Leonet (internet) and parking which are both optional. Thanks again for watching. Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe.
Thank you! 😊

Wow that's a great apartment and a great price. Its surprisingly spacious and I love the separation of the bathroom, toilet, and living space. Thanks for the in depth tour!

Honestly it's very small but also kind of perfectly formed, if that makes sense. There's certainly enough for most single people. Maybe enough for a couple! It's a lovely little place, regardless. What do you do for work (also, you mentioned school)? Have you lived in Japan long? Your video got recommended to me out of nowhere but I'm glad. It was fun to have a look at a Japanese apartment. :)
@shandavlog

Thank you watching 😊. Yes, it is actually very small compared to western apartments. However, it’s way bigger than my previous apartments. The school I mentioned is actually work. I have been living and teaching English in Japan since 2020.

Your set up is almost like a studio apartment. Compared to what others post, you're lucky to have found this. You might have more shoe space if you stored them stacking the one shoe, heel to toe atop the other for some of them that can be. If you have the space for a shoe rack or cabinet, that might also help. The closet you have in your entryway looks as if you can only place a pair on each level, which might be when they built it, they lacked the space for more depth. If you have the space in the closet, go vertical and stack another storage bin set atop the other. You might need to put a piece of wood between them for stabilization but that would add more space. If you can for the top shelf, try to go to the top where possible with the storage. It's pretty standard in most Asian countries to need to use dehumidifier products. Perhaps a dehumidifier unit could be plugged in? That's if you have an outlet. I live in the US Midwest and I have one though it does add some heat to the room temperature when it runs. I can fill the container up enough in that I could flush the toilet without flushing in getting rid of the water. In regards to the washer in the bathroom, many French homes have the same. They have a drum washer that you fill from the top and it works in the same fashion as a front loading washer does, only vertically. Cold water fill/washing is also common in Japan and the Bold you use which is similar to Gain in North America is P&G's fragrance product there. European washers also have cold fill but they have internal heaters and why it takes a while to wash some loads. You have adequate storage space and if you need more, some in-cabinet storage aids might be your solution to manage what you have. When you are in stores that sell such, visualize what might work best for your needs if you are in a buying mode. If water is hard in Japan, you might need a bathroom cleaner that can cut the mineral buildup in your soaking tub. Myself, I would likely use it for showering. Use of any non-soap product in the tub should not lead to buildup. Applying yes, car wax, to the sides of the tub will also keep the build up down, reapplying when needed. In the toilet room, you also have vertical space that you can use storage aids with if desired to add more. While the area is open and not closed there's still the ability to put up a curtain with a spring rod if you desire to for the tub room as I think you said it had no door of its own. As I have a split wall between my kitchen and living room, I used shower curtains and rods to "'curtain" off my space to make it feel like I have two rooms instead of one with a half wall. I did the same for my entry hall and with a spring rod, for the inside wall that meets the split wall into the kitchen. You do have a better kitchen area than most as it's walled in. There too, under the sink lends itself to some organization aids if you feel the need as well as in other cabinets. Your refrigerator is apartment style as even in the US, they have smaller ones for apartments as some of my neighbors have smaller ones in the same space where I have a larger one. You do have the standard cooking set up with burner top and "fish grill" While you can likely cook other things that lend themselves to broiler cooking, you still need a toaster oven for traditional baking and other oven cooking. You do show good use of the living/sleeping space as you have zoned it off as one would need to in an open studio space. If you wish to hide the storage under the stand for the TV, make or buy a cover of some sort to set the TV on. When buying storage ottomans, those with harder covers/build lend themselves for seating or use as an end table as a tray atop one can be used for decorative or other effect. As you have the space at the foot of the bed, a bench seat/storage ottoman would give you storage and an extra place to sit. Having a storage bed is wise indeed. Platform bed frames do the same for others and there are bed risers (I recommend the steel ones) for those with standard frames. I watch these type of videos for inspiration on how to meet my own storage needs as in Japan, the no nail policy of landlords, has shown me what types of products I might be able to use myself. While Daiso does have US mail order, they don't have the complete product lines that they do in Japan for sale. Still, some clever stuff that is better quality than what I would find in similar US stores and good pricing too. UPS shipping, not so much. Thank you for an enjoyable video to watch and my comments are not meant to criticize how you live but rather on what I see that might help to make it even better.
@shandavlog
@shandavlog 11 месяцев назад
That was honestly a long read but thank you for the advice on how to better utilize the space. I know your comment is not meant to criticize as you mentioned because those were just legit advice not criticism. I won’t get a dehumidifier because it will take up a lot of space and trust me the balls work very well. I also don’t want to cover the storage under the TV I just need to to set it up a little better. Thanks again for watching and even more for commenting. I’ll see you in the next one 🤗
@doncrocker8564

@@shandavlog I'm sure they have smaller dehumidifiers. I have lived on that side of the world myself and remember in countries I was in, Hippo brand dehumidifiers bought in general merchandise stores. Choice is yours on the TV. In the US, that's general advice they give, more so for those who wish to use the space under a table for hidden storage. The idea is to manage what you have in a way that organized is not cover for clutter. I have the same issues with that as many others. Thanks for the reply and if anything I noted might help you in your living situation, all the better.

Its not a bad rent considering you're living in Japan but do you have to pay for utilities too? This apartment design reminds me of how some of them are still in Canada. The rents here would be 5 times higher tho. I guess you're living in a small city or town. Are these shoes all yours??😆😆 Good Luck girl 👍
@shandavlog
