I’m a fan of train themed games, such as Ticket to Ride, On the Underground and Free Ride. Bus would seem to have the mechanics I like and at least the bus connects to trains, right?! I may need to strongly consider this one, especially if it’s relativity easy to teach and learn. I’m finding the heavier weight games just don’t make it the table very often.
In The Netherlands (home to the designers and artist of the game) we've had yellow busses that did regional transportation. Although this was far a longer time ago then the year of 1998, but in the 90's some of these might still have been around. But looking at the design of the specific bus (see original cover) I think they were inspired by the American high school bus.
Have you played Get on Board (or its early version Let's Make a Bus Route)? seems like it would be a good fit for you as a bus theme roll/flip and write
I have friends that are shocked Carcassonne beat out every other game for #1 for 2 years in a row. But Carcassonne does so much with so little that it's honestly a game I never really tire of
Based on your recommendation a few months ago I found a sealed copy of the 2019 Capstone Retail Edition (not the Anniversary edition with the original components and map but I don't care!) from a Canadian retailer at a great price. NEVER SELLING! 😂
I went and did a massively deep dive looking for this one when your first gameplay came out. I found a small shop in one of the Dakotas that had a website and were selling it at a pretty great price point. It was the first copy of the game I’d been able to find. I consider the not insignificant amount of time trying to find it a great investment. I love this game!
Great video. Do you know if there are component differences between the edition with the red '20th anniversary' shield and the regular yellow box Capstone Reprint 2019
West here, I just checked my edition (not a 20th anniversary version) and it doesn't include the wooden bus token. I know Jesse also has a copy of the orginal splotter version of bus in his box but I'm not sure if that was part if the 20th anniversary edition of not. But I can confirm, the wooden bus token is definitely not part if the regular edition from capstone.
I noticed that the house, pub and work tokens have been replaced with wooden ones (they are cardboard in my version). Anyone have any idea where I could pick up those tokens?
Thank you for sharing. If you don't mind another sharing: Who taught you to talk so well? You and Alex, are both really excellent smooth "talkers"... Did you born with this gift? Or did you practice quite a lot to be a master of this skill? (..I ask seriously..)
If this game is so fabulous, why the company have not printed it again? It doesn’t look that great. If it is such a wonderful game why other reviewers don’t talk much about it? Maybe it just resonate with some gamers.
No game that is out of print and costs over $200 on eBay is worth it for anyone. Period. What a waste of a video showing off a game that’s nearly impossible to find, and insanely expensive for anyone during a recession.
quoting vasel rule, if an out of print game is so good, it will be reprinted eventually. If it is not then it is not that great. you are not missing anything.
why is it a waste of a video? who forced you to watch it? if you want it, you can PnP it or pickup a copy on the secondary market (i found one a few weeks ago for $120USD). The only way games like this will be reprinted is exactly if people like jesse make videos about them. if there is enough interest, the game will be reprinted eventually. But there will be no interest if no one's talking about it.
He’s talking about his favourite game, so what? And what if someone wants to buy it and can’t find any gameplay videos or just wants to see more Splotter game videos? It’s not a waste at all.
@@TimYoung1984 looks like it's being reprinted and available for pre-release for $90 through capstone games. Should be released later this month (Sept 2024).
This is where I get frustrated. I don't subscribe to your channel to watch you indulge in games you own and love yet are unavailable. I subscribe because I'm looking for recommendations from experienced players that may help me cut through the vast options available. I hope disliking this video doesn't mess up your algorithm or damage your income string but instead gives you feedback on the kind of content I hope you will focus on.
