I’ve been wearing Rouge Noir since it came out in 1995…it actually made the news and is the shade that launched a thousand knockoffs. (Chanel’s US version, Vamp, is NOT the same.) It also made “goth” shades mainstream. I’ve also had Black Pearl since it came out…once again, Chanel’s name helped put what was previously a type of colour that was almost exclusively in the realm of punk rock into the mainstream. However, because it’s grey, not black, and has that fine, dense shimmer, it becomes elegant. Now I must get Paradox! Thanks for this, Anna (and MSL)! :)

From a socio-anthropological perspective, it' s fascinating how a shade can be perceived from "Eeew😖" to "Wooow😍" and reach certain target just for being launched by Chanel. _Black Satin_ is the epitome of this phenomenon. The same ladies who felt disgusted by goth and punk nails were on the waiting list to buy a black polish. But a Chanel black polish😌. _Bel-Argus_ could perfectly be considered tacky and unclassy if the color itself was showed out of context or secretly placed in a low cost brand counter. The power of autosuggestion😉... Amazing job dealing with the rebel ☁️🩷! 🧛🏻‍♀️🖤

In my opinion, I do not think you could go wrong with any of these beautiful colors. Black Pearl is my favorite for an everyday color that could pretty much go with anything. YES - Please do a video with Dior and YSL polishes - Also could you give your opinion on which polish out of the three (Chanel, Dior, YSL) you think is best application, wear and worth the high price. As always, I totally enjoy watching your videos!!!

I bought Graphite and Peridot waaaaay back when I was a nail biter and although I had lost them during many house moving trips, they still hold a dear place in my heart… Could still remember painting them on so religiously (by my standards back then) and being in awe at their beauty on my bitten, short, troubled nails ❤

Thanks for these beautiful swatches. Chanel makes such fun colors. I have Black Pearl, Tenderly, and a few reds. I love how they use the most subtle shimmer in their creme colors just to give the color depth. And yes, the downside is the difficult brush that leaves streaks. At that price point, Dior brushes put them to shame. Love your videos.

Great choices! I have several of these (Rouge Noir, Bel Argus, Azure, Vendetta), and cheaper dupes for some of the others (Rimmel Hot List for Paradoxal, Jessica Smoky Feather and Iridescent Eye for Graphite and Peridot). Another all-time favourite of mine is Blue Satin. I love Chanel polishes but they are too expensive to get often. Yes please to videos on Dior and YSL 😊

When l was learning to paint my own nails the Chanel polish was the only one that went on with precision enough to look good also never bled into my cuticles, I do have small nail beds so brush was not an issue. I have the same polishes that l bought twenty years ago and even without adding thinner they glide on and look just as beautiful. However they chip and wear the most out of any brands 🧐

In November, I decided to wear some old-time favourites that I haven't used for a while. If I manage, I will pull out Graphite too. If not, I feel it is quite a festive shade so in December or January it will be great as well. I have to look for Azure. TFS.

Loved this video! I own almost all those colors and you’ve inspired me to dig them out and use them. Chanel used to be so good! Their brush is terrible compared to what is available now. I haven’t bought one in ages, they got boring. And they’re not a boring price point. 😂 I’m still obsessed with black pearl and graphite for sure.

It's so interesting to me to see these luxury polishes swatched. It proves to me that I don't want them!! They're beautiful, but not worth the price in my opinion. I think you're paying for marketing and packaging.
