The NPC pet battle in Shadowmoon Valley(Draenor) outside the alliance garrison on per day per toon you can go from level 1 to 15 or so. The highest xp tuned and also easiest NPC pet battle. 1 of the pets does not even fight back. Then while you are there whip out 2 Nether Faerie Dragons and a pet to level and delete the level 25 heavy flying comp pet battles to xp fast.

Do not kill the bosses, just the trash. Then you won`t get the "heroic" lockout but Blizz limited how many instances a player (account!) can enter per hour and that is: "You can enter up to ten individual instanced zones per hour. The limit is per account, and cannot be avoided by changing characters. You can still queue for random instances in the Dungeon Finder while under effect of this limit, but you will not be given a Deserter debuff if you cannot enter the dungeon"

basically all these old materials are related to crafting something a collector would like to have like a mount/pet/transmog etc, and trust me this game have a LOT of people that likes to collect stuff like achievements, mounts, pets etc
