Been watching you for a few years now and funnily enough I’ve kind of had manga on the back burner for a while and have just been watching movies so this was a nice surprise. Would love for you to review movies on the channel, and even do unboxings like you do with manga. Really like your stuff. Keep it up.
PLS more blu ray content/reviews for movies 🙏 i always watch your manga content but I don’t even read manga anymore only watch Blu-ray’s so I love when you do stuff like this👍
If you're into Criterion, I would recommend Edward Yang's movies. A Brighter Summer Day was one of my favorite blind buys. Also, try Burning if you're into slow psychological mysteries.
Great collection! If you want more Korean films I highly recommend A Taxi Driver from 2017. One of the most powerful true stories I’ve ever seen on film
I’ve put all my blurays & DVD’s into boxes and threw them into the attic. I’m only collecting anime blurays from now on. Bought a few series over the last few weeks trying to build up my collection.
Blade Runner is the most influential sci-fi movie in the history of cinema and having the trifecta of Ridley Scott as director, Harrison Ford as the main, and the epic Vangelis as the score is just insane. It's a must-have for any serious anime/manga/japanophile fan. It took huge influence from Japanese culture and when the Japanese saw it, they took huge influence from it! The epic OAV series Bubblegum Crisis is basically Blade Runner and Streets Of Fire. The entire Fifth Element movie is a huge tribute film to Blade Runner. The amount of dystopian manga/anime licenses that came from Blade Runner is huge...everything from Battle Angel (Gunnm) to Blame! (just about anything by Nihei sensei), to Akira, to anything by Masamune Shirow, to Planetes, to Eden (Endo sensei), to anything cyberpunk, etc. However, you must get the correct edition. The original movie has an extremely annoying narration voice-over by Harrison Ford, put there by the studio since the movie was "too complicated" according to execs. It's like having an annoyed Paris Hilton narrate Donnie Darko. What you want is Blade Runner: DIrector's Cut. You will not need 5 watches to enjoy it, especially someone like you who has read more than just Shonen Jump manga. But you may enjoy it more and more, without the pain, watching it several times just like how some reads Watchmen over and over, enjoys each time and finds something new in each reading. The other actors did such a good job under Scott's direction: Sean Young, Darryl Hannah, Edward James Olmos and the epic Rutger Hauer. TL;DR: Director's Cut.
@@ThePromG I was a DVD Collector about 20 years ago, but just got into Blu Rays / 4k. I just started collecting this summer and was a little over zealous and after watching this I traded in a bunch of movies and started to curate a lot more selectively. Really great collection!
@@TheJohnWhites Whether it’s movies, games, manga or literally anything, I always preach about curating your collection. Not only does it save space, but when EVERYTHING you own is something you truly love, it’s make the collection so much more special!
Check out three billboards outside Ebbing Missouri, if you havent. One of the best movies imo. Also you definitely need to get around to pulp fiction, that's a must watch
Not all 4Ks are created equal! I typically find that older movies like The Thing and Halloween have way more noticeable quality increases than recent movies. There are good 4Ks and subpar ones so I always research before buying.
Recommendations: If you like Tobe Hooper (Texas Chainsaw Massacre), you may like Tobe Hooper's Salem's Lot. Gotta get the OG Director's Cut TV series. City Of God Nuovo Cinema Paradiso Fanny Och Alexander Della Morte Dell'amore
Evangelion has to be watched asap bro. Truly the best anime of all time. I think since you're a film guy you would especially appreciate the directing and cinematography in it. Sick collection btw! If I were to recommend a movie to watch also, it's Babel. Insanely underrated film
I know most people hate it, but I love Jason X, the one where he goes to the future, I love that one. Freddy Vs Jason is my favourite, but that’s second.
Aria the manga is a precious work to me. It's better as a manga. Same with A Silent Voice, Akira, Prison School, etc. I also liked Your Name as manga better as well.
Make more movie content! The weebs have been satisfied enough!! It’s only a matter of time before they make the transition to the hobby of film like the rest of us anyway! Haha
