@@dazzlingone96 Hehe sorry for the late reply but thanks so much :) in the fail vid the move i attempt to do from 2;15 - 2;33 is just a backflip off the wall at low speed (to be honest i haven't done it in a long time and you kinda reminded me i should try it again cause its fun lol) back layouts are a little different because when doing a layout you are trying to fly the whole motion where as a flip is faster and more "hucking it" in a way

Amazing video !! I love to see the progression and how you improve really fast. At one point of the process your suit changed for an more “pro” suit. Did you buy it yourself or do they give it to you after a certain time of practice ?
@WigglyFlies
@WigglyFlies 4 месяца назад
Thanks! Sorry for the late reply but when I was confident in my belly skills, they let me borrow a tighter Flight School suit that most iFly tunnels have. You generally have to kinda prove you're good with a baggy suit first as its kinda like training wheels and then you can move on to a tight suit. I eventually bought my own suit from DEEM a while later but im really happy with it and its fully custom.

its so much easier to fly when you arnt thinking about how youre moving (arms, legs etc) but more about where you want to go. As soon as you can do something without thinking about how youre going to get there, it just clicks in your head and its the best feeling ever! @WigglyFlies
@WigglyFlies 2 года назад
After you fly for the first time, it does get cheaper as you're considered a return flyer. My lessons were 10 mins long and i think i paid around $150ish for those 10 mins and as you proress past belly flying you start paying for coaching which is about $3.50/min. it really depends on the tunnel you are going to though. i hope this helps :)

@WigglyFlies
@WigglyFlies Год назад
a lot of iFly locations look quite similar, this one is actually in Calgary Alberta. Definitely would recommend getting in some tunnel time, it'll help you a lot with your control and movement in free fall. A lot of skydivers use the tunnel as an important training tool because you get a lot more time in the wind and can figure maneuvers out easier with coaching. It's also a lot cheaper and you can also progress a lot more especially if you want to try free fly. Another "good" thing about the tunnel is that it makes you realize when you're moving and gets you to stay still because of the walls. In the sky, there aren't any boundaries so you could be flying sideways and not realize.
@CRJCrombo
@CRJCrombo Год назад
I am a begginer skydiver (16 jumps so far) and I want to improve my free fall confidence so I’ve booked the wind tunnel and an instructor for a full hour in 9 days since my end goal is doing free fly. I wanted to get a feel for the progress I can expect in a tunnel and I stumbled across your video 😊 I am honestly amazed, keep up the good work 😄 EDIT: if anyone is interested, i have 3 minutes of logged free fall so far and I am still really shaky in the air 😅
@WigglyFlies
@WigglyFlies Год назад
Awesome! tunnel time is the best way to improve your free fall skills and get you to free flying a lot faster (and cheaper) than trying to work it all out on an actual skydive, an hour is a lot of time to fly so definitely remember to stretch your shoulders, upper and lower back, chest etc. (you'll thank me later). Also most of the learning comes from what you do outside the tunnel, watch your videos and see how your movement affects things as well as if you can watch videos like on the IBA (tunnelflight.com) you'll get a lot of understanding of movements with those videos. (also make an account because then if you're going to an iFly, its the official way we track skills) Also practicing the maneuvers on the ground will definitely help with muscle memory as well. I hope this helps and good luck with your tunnel journey :D
@CRJCrombo
@CRJCrombo Год назад
@@WigglyFlies forgot to stretch, regretting it now 😂 In the end did 45 minutes and was too exhausted to do more, but the instructor said that belly is ok (moving up and down, rotations and side sliding, last thing we did was rotating to belly and back on the tunnel floor) and we should probably move to backfly next month. Thank you for your response, wanted to leave some more feedback if anyone stumbles on this and is interested. I am now studiously analysing my videos and I got some feedback from the instructor.

Get in the plane dude. This isnt skydiving and its not parachuting. If you want to improve your freefall confidence then spend time in freefall, especially at your early stage.
@CRJCrombo
@CRJCrombo Год назад
@@admiralbenbow5083 in think you are misunderstanding me, I am at 28 jumps currently as of today and at 2 hours of tunnel time. Tunnel is factually cheaper per second of free fall and since I have gone there I gained so much confidence having pretty much covered belly flying and started doing back fly. This year my team is starting doing both relative competitions and indoor relative so we will be doing quite a lot of tunnel alongside the regular jumps 🙂
@admiralbenbow5083

what package did you get? From what I saw on their website this much time would cost so much no?
@WigglyFlies
@WigglyFlies Год назад
I first started on a first time flyer package then after you fly they offer you return flyer flights which are cheaper. After you fly, they offer you some packages at a discounted rate (you do have to buy them after you fly on the same day to get the deals) so each week I did 10 minutes and it cost about $155 CAD per 10 minutes, after I got past my lvl 1 belly skills, I got access to pro flyer time which is priced $13.66 CAD per minute and then with this rate there is a coaching fee of $3.50 that i pay to the instructor on the day. The return flyer rates i mentioned are not on the website as they are in store only. it is an expensive sport overall tho but i really love it so its worth it for me :)

@@WigglyFlies i eventually want my USPA skydiving license so I wonder if it's just better to only go a few times and the just start my skydiving training. I went yesterday and we got forward and back, rotating left and right, and then going up and down and I did pretty good for it being my first day. Instructor told me I was already pretty stable so I wonder if I should just go and instead go to a drop zone for skydiving and train there if im gonna do skydiving license anyway with instructors.
@WigglyFlies
@WigglyFlies Год назад
@@AdonisGaming93 I always recommend mixing in tunnel time to skydivers even if youre not a beginner just because for any skills, you'll progress way faster if you use the tunnel to progress your freefall skills. (belly, back, head up, head down, flips etc.) tunnel is a lot different from the sky but it really makes you realize how much you drift and move around when youre flying. A lot of skydivers come in dead set on sit flying or head down or something but they've never been in a tunnel before so as soon as they even get in there on their belly, theyre flying all over the place and need to relearn how to control their motions. also per minute of freefall its so much cheaper. Much easer to do something in the tunnel where you have time to learn rather than trying to figure out a maneuver on a jump.
@AdonisGaming93
@AdonisGaming93 Год назад
@@WigglyFlies true. I think for now what I'll do is start my skydiving first and see how I progress and then return to the tunnel if I need practice in a certain area. I don't think I can afford to do both simultaneously.
