Great card selections. The 72T IA Carew is my favorite from the set. Was just looking on ebay to buy a 68T Gibson. I bought the 70T Munson at the National to inch closer to completing my set Also subscribed to you.
I think the Gibson could be off center top to bottom. We tend to focus of centering and corners but the graders also look at the card surface with magnification that can lower the grade of vintage examples. Congratulations on those 8’s.
I think you're spot on with the top to bottom centering being off. I tend to focus my eye more on the left to right but looking closer at the card, it's definitely a bit off center at the bottom. Appreciate the comments!
Front centering on the Ozzie is usually brutal and SGC hammers back centering as well. You did very well considering how tough they are! I have some SGC sub/reveals with fairly detailed condition breakdowns. Just subbed to your channel 🤙
Getting an 8 on 60's cards is pretty rare so you did well but I sure can't explain the inconsistencies of some of the others. I have never had a card graded or bought a graded card but watch a lot of video grade reveals so I thought I understood what they were looking for but there's a few that really make no sense. I enjoyed the video.
You got some really good grades on those cards. Topps quality on those 80-81 basketball cards was pretty low so that McHale rookie is a great example. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks and appreciate the comments! I've got a few other 80-81 basketball cards including the Bird / Magic rookie card. I'll submit those at some point in the future.
Love the Hank Aaron HR king. I have 2 that I have to send to SGC. 7.5 is a pretty good grade for that card. Awesome collection btw. I have to start collecting more vintage and get out of this modern vibe I been in
Sorry about your timing with grading. 5 years ago you would have gotten higher grades. It’s almost like the grading companies are starting all vintage at 8 and downgrading from there. They should be starting from a 10.
Nice reveal and some strong grades. SGC can be really tough, thought the two 68's should have graded higher. I have a lot of the same cards that I plan to submit soon. Enjoyed watching and just subbed, looking forward to seeing more content!
Thanks for the comments. And yes, SGC was just as tough as PSA on their grades. Got another submission coming back soon from PSA from cards from 1957 to 1984. Fun to do these reveals and thanks for watching! Best to you on your grading!
Your ‘72 In Action Roberto Clemente is really off center Top-to-Bottom. If you don’t have one, you may want to invest in a Centering Card. They cost about $10 from Amazon.
6 and up on vintage is strong. All the grading companies are brutal on vintage. If you get sevens and eight then that's amazing. Nice grade on the McHale!
