The rear screen may have been locked, which may have been why they couldn’t use it at all. I know on the Model S and X you can lock it. Also I think there’s an “on” or “auto” for the ambient lighting in the car.
Yes the back screen is controlled by the front and can be disabled. I have it disabled in my car as I don't want kids playing with aircon and the front seats
That looks absolutely amazing! Dang. So cool you got to test drive one! This is honestly the most compelling video I’ve seen so far on why it’s worth waiting for the refreshed Model Y.
@@OrganicStuff1 agreed. There is also something special about the original model 3. That thing changed the car industry, could pretty much be a collectors item one day. Assuming you can hold on to it long enough.. I will try to keep mine for long as possible, even if it means storing it, when I buy a new car down the line, I don't think I will want to part with mine...
The Rocklin Tesla service center is down the road from me. It would have been nice to run into you there. I’m definitely looking forward to the performance version of the new Model 3
Thanks for taking us along for the ride! (Virtually) Sounds like you all were impressed for the most part. I really like the look of the new interior and the features they added. I still prefer the exterior styling of the original Model 3 but I will save my final opinion until I get to see it in person 😀
I did same test drive on new Model 3 RWD yesterday. It seemed they turned off rear screen for test drive cars. The comfortable suspension and quiet cabin make it feel like real premium car!
There are some things I miss in the new Model 3. One is definitely sticks for a blinker and other essential driving features. Second, a dedicated screen with essential driving info like speed, warning lights, etc for the driver. Third, are physical buttons.
Took delivery of my China built Highland Model 3 in November, it’s solid built, perfect panel alignment. Done 4000 miles so far. How’s the finish on this one? The back screen should be on. Strange that’s is off? Btw the seats are much wider, very little clearance on the sides.
Shame they didn't use the ambient lighting as a blind spot warning. VW group is using this in Seat and Cupra for example. You already have the ambient lighting, so use it smart.
This is just a guess, but I'll venture that the blind spot monitor is in the speaker mostly because it requires very little eye movement to realise it's the wrong time to move over. With my Ford GTPE, if I haven't already been watching, I'd have to look all the way over to the mirror to know it's not right, and if I have to look that far I'll already see the vehicle prohibiting the move. I'm hardly a big Tesla fan, but this seems like an intelligent thing to do. It's also smart to allow the camera view of the blind spot in the centre stack the way Tesla does. Sometimes they just get it right, eh.
I wonder how long it would take to get used to the turn signal on the wheel. It definitely feels like if your wheel is ever not exactly straight when you come up to a stop it would be frustrating to need to look for the button.
After 2 months of owning one, you get used to it pretty quickly. I also live in a city with lots of roundabouts which made the transition a little more challenging
Does it go into auto Drive or Reverse like the S/X or do you always have to put in D or R when you start your drive? Fun little preview vid, looks nice. The Y will double in sales with a refresh like this!
So... French owner here from Nov 2023 and on my M3 Highland the rear screen can be blocked from the main screen but not turned off that's a bummer. It stays on with a lock icon, perhaps it dims itself later can't say for sure. Also i don't use it and would prefer a screen in front of me but that's an other story. And i don't really know why the ambient lights turned back on when you stopped the car because it should stay on always once activated. The only noticeable thing is that it lose like half its brightness while on drive, i wish i could decide the strength of it. lastly i gotta say the blinkers on the steering wheel is just dangerous in Europe, gotta watch the road on roundabouts because there are many of them here ! can't do that if i gotta watch the wheel with my hands moving and so on ! not good at all ! waiting for an accessory hopefully coming soon from third party seller or something.
When he was talking about punching it and then you asked if he wanted you too and he said no, but kinda yes. Although he doesn't want you to do anything you don't want to do. That means punch it right now you cat, read the room Drew ffs 😂.
Wait for the Performance model 3. It should qualify for the $7500 tax credit since the batteries come from Nevada. It might be less expensive than the Standard or Long Range trim.
Huge mistake to have the turn signals on the steering wheel, because as you encountered it's had to use them while the steering wheel is turned. And the speakers are still there, in fact there are more speakers they are just hidden now.
I am a little disappointed that the ambient light isn't on all the time while driving as its just a yellow strip that I am going to be seeing all the time... I also didn't know there was such a difference between the single and dual motor
I love the comment about car camping. There are so many fools who comment that people don’t car camp and people aren’t going to camp in the back of the Cybertruck 🤦♂️ There are so many people that are going to do this !
Looks a lot cheaper tbh I got a 2021 and feel like it has better material. I think Tesla is really cheaping out besides the display in the back and vent seats
Huh. This is a ev channel and u asking about hellcats 🤣. Not only is the cat 2x the model 3 but it’s more gas and maintenance long term. Drew said he is all about efficiency getting a hellcat is the complete different direction.
Nice vid but drew I’m sorry the way you were driving pissed me off. You literally drive like a grandma and being passed by multiple cars going the speed limit. It’s a shame to be in a Tesla and not once punch it and go fast 🤦🏻♂️
Tesla's are fast, everyone knows that. Our wives in the backseat didn't want me to punch it, so I didn't. The refresh had 0 changes to the powertrain, nothing new there
