I visit the London Comic Mart. Please check out my new website www.jasonparkercomics.com where I have loads of comics for sale. There are links to my RU-vid channel too.
Thanks for the shout out Jason, it was me that sold you the pre code horror and I'm chuffed you like it. Hopefully see you at the September mart at the Royal national again, my wife and I will both be back down. If you're interested I've got a lot more comics on Ebay as well, but I didn't want to add my Ebay username without your permission. Great video !!!
Great vid, always prefered marts to cons, just comics mainly. Wish you had shown the wall books on the very long display.....my only gripe. Keep up the good work.
Great video buddy. Loved seeing you meet people from the comic community! Love theses blogs and I can’t wait to go to one now. Will have to take some cash though 😂
I used to visit the Comic Mart when I lived in London and I enjoyed it each time. I also used to exhibit there as an indie comic artist of a book called Velica. It was great to see it again courtesy of your video. Thank you for sharing!
Did the Westminster Cent.Hall (where Dave Gibbons signed some Watchmen) and Euston (well, nearby, in a civic/council building: Judd St?) marts as a young lad & then student into the 1990s. Did the Russell Square marts evolve from these? I've been to the Royal.Nat. Rus.Sq mart once I think. Glad to see they're still going.
I think the Euston Mart you mention might well have been the Camden Centre in Judd Street just behind St Pancras Station, but from what I recall that was the Trading Card Mart which sadly ended around 2003/04, and amalgamated with the Comic Mart thereafter - although it was never the same and very few card sellers turn up to the Comic Mart nowadays. The Comic Mart at the Royal National Hotel Russell Square has been running for over 30 years and was running at the same time, but back then it was purely Comics. That Comic Mart has always been a weird one. It's barely advertised, people often find out about it through word of mouth, and I only learned it existed after being told about it from my local Comic Book store owner. (Ian @ Dead Universe Comics, Aylesbury) It's not the same as it used to be. It still has the same great variety of Comic sellers, but there's also too many Funko Pop sellers, which I can't stand, and not enough Trading Card sellers but I have noticed some Vintage Toy sellers start to appear on occasion and I love me some old school G1 Transformers! It's still great for a visit, and still free entry after midday, and if there's nothing that takes your fancy at the Mart, Forbidden Planet is only a 10/15 minute walk around the corner. I have to say, even after all these years, I do still miss the Camden Centre Card Mart and it's a shame they never really replaced it.
Nice one, Jason. I’m going to be heading that way pretty soon. Thanks for mentioning that most traders there are cash only .. that bit of info will save me embarrassment on the day. Also thanks for doing close-up shots of the books behind traders .. Good to see what was on offer 👍🍻👍
Great video use to go all the time.. Will definitely try to go for the next one September 24th I think? I would have thought most dealer r cashless now & yes ur right must lose sales??
Great vid Jason, I missed this one unfortunately 😢 usually incognito comics are there ( to the right of the door in ) and they have sone huge keys . I’ll definitely say hello if I see you at a future mart 👍 lovely PCH book btw :)
