I'm not a fan of the added in game ads. It's now $7 to remove them, or $84 a year. They seem to lag my phone out quite a bit as well. I remember paying for ad removal and "no ads forever, and we mean it" .. and now it's pop ups removed? Very disappointing.
its frustrating for me that you can no longer judge how well youre doing by your position on the card at the end of a round,. You have to look at the actual scores for everyone on the card now bc the guy on the bottom of the card could be the one in first. This happened to me last night. I was 11 under in first place going in to the 9th hole with the 2nd player on the card at 8 under so I played for the birdie instead of eagle not realizing the player at the bottom of the card was actually in 2nd with 10 under and we finished tied for first. I have decided not to buy the season pass or the monthly subscription this time also. I am pretty happy with my discs and the rewards this time just weren't intriguing enough for me tp pay. I'd rather wait for a DOTW that I actually want like a G/S Paradigm or the G/WS Strive. I am level 120 or so and still have only ever gotten a few Rives as reward discs. Have never even seen a Paradigm or Strive offered as a level up reward yet.
You ask how some of us feel alone. I ask you this: When you were behind, were you aware of your oppnents shots in the same way as the previous version? .. In this video, you are commenting basically on yourself and posted results. Which is how I feel alone. No sense of match play. Just plowing through the course. Over time, you may notice when you are behind the pop pop pop of your opponents tee shots becomes annoying. This actually causes me to play slower just to let their flight paths clear so I can line up my shot. Overall, a big reduction in timing when I am behind, and hurrying my shots when I try to keep pace. I have given up playing as a group. I just feel I am in an solo round with distractions now. So if I am playing slow, I am not trying to gain advantage. Just trying to do my best.
Just sharing my opinion as you have shared yours. I love the fact that if someone does play slower there isn't an automatic gained advantage by being able to see their scores past that of the hole they are playing. When I have had players get ahead of me I haven't noticed a huge difference in feel. It still feels to me like they are playing whatever hole I am on right along with me. But the majority of my rounds especially when matched with players of similar skill we have all stayed together and nobody has gotten far ahead. I do love the option of playing fast though especially when I just want to grind out some rounds or the option to put my phone down if something comes up and not have to take a timeout or retire. I wish they'd remove the 5 second delay of the move on button.
@@AaronChristensen_discgolfstuffCheers man.. I get that all have their own opinions... You did ask in the video how people get the sense of being alone... No worries.. I am learning to deal with it even though most of the fun for me has disappeared. I am really not a slow player, but if I am five seconds slower on a hole, it snowballs into being further and further behind. I am behind so often that I can really tell the difference. @AnthonyBockheim maybe as I play more I will understand better the alone feeling you describe. Playing by yourself is definitely not the feeling you shoukd get when trying to play a live multi-player system! I guess what I have experience feels very similar to just playing a little slower on a hole in the previous version. You see what the other players have done or or doing and sometimes those ff get in the way a bit.
@AaronChristensen_discgolfstuff One last thought here: Do you believe your videos will still be interesting if you play ahead? I doubt the same level of interest would be there for a viewer. Exactly how my level of interest is not there as a player. I play this game for the experience first, results second.
@AnthonyBockheim gonna be pretty hard to be ahead when I'm recording a round ad talking typically slows me down a bit so I'm not worried about that. If I get behind I still have noticed very little difference in how the game feels. I'm a big fan of the changes and the option to play faster if I want to or if there is someone super slow on the card. They've done a great job to not give someone an advantage by playing slow on purpose by hiding the scores.
There are lots of putting glitches. Throw in from 10 feet is my go to because of these glitches. Not a big fan of the new update. And the DNF when you Finnish a rounding 1st is pretty lame.
