According to Wikipedia, this bike is still the 5th fastest accelerating bike 0-60 today. That’s incredible. It does a mile in under 12 sec. It had aircraft tech like no other bike of its time and more aerodynamic then a busa. The gas tank is under the seat. Where the tank is a giant air box. As a true enthusiast this was Japanese technology at its best when speed and performance was all that mattered. Not electronics and tft displays with Bluetooth.

I bought my 4800 mile ZX last year to add to my small collection of bikes as it was so original, clean and low mile.. Love it. It currently has a full Ti Akrapovic and PCIII fitted, but I have the standard exhaust which I will be refitting. The Akra does sound insanely good though… so I may not rush to do it yet 😄👍🏼

I had the red bike with purple rims! It was also unrestricted with the speedometer showing 220 mph! However, I could only get it up to about 185mph before I had to let off the throttle! Not scared but that's fast as shit man!lol

Hope your still healthy and held on to that bike. I was 19yrs old when Kawi released it and I was mesmerized. Black with red accents beautiful! You got yourself a KILLER right there. The R-1 is a little more better balance bike and easier to ride but the ZX 12 R is definitely quicker hands down

I’m 6’2 185lb both feet touch the ground & still bend a little bit. It fits me perfect. Other bikes r kinda low to me. It feels like driving a good sedan smooth... then Bang!!! The bottom of the bike gets scratched all the time. If u want side bags change the rear turning signal lights.

I think this is the greatest ZX ever made😁 I don't the ZX14r coz they are cheater bikes, no one really buy that and ride that for long. This bike can go toe to toe with the Busa. Take care of that bike dude, can't find myself one yet.

I agree this bike does everything well.. no need for a stabilizer it's straight as an arrow at high speeds no wobbles at all and has great handling in the turns!
