Loved this video. And love how everyone seem to be returning to the original intention of the bullet journal. So many people realize how much time is spent designing spreads vs actually being productive and utilizing bujo as the tool it was intended to be used for. Love it so much
The advice and overall calmness that shines through in all of your videos is what keeps me coming back to your channel. The spreads are secondary to me, but just as awesome! Stamp away! 😍 So happy to see you back posting, and I hope you get to see your family soon. ❤️
Your voice is so lovely to hear again! I'm glad to hear you've been able to survive this crazy world. The basics are so timeless and elegant, your journal is a statement. Love this video!
Good to have you back! Last year I found myself at a point in my bullet journal journey, where I realised that I'm doing the opposite - I was restricting myself in every aspect. I was worried about the number of pages I use, worried about the themes being a childish and pathetic thing to care for at 28yo, the same goes for my personal journal spaces - I used to leave just a little bit of space so as not to be too teen-like with my neverending entries (which calm me down). And then, at some point I decided to try out the running log. And it was just what I needed. I'm still a little bit embarassed, but in the end I'm the only one who sees my journal, so why should I be so self-conscious about it? No matter if you need to go back to basics or go all out - it's your personal space, do what you want ❤
Welcome back! When I first started my bullet journal journey, I started too ambitious and had to go back to basics with something more simple. Life has its ebbs and flows. I keep a separate work and personal journal for various reasons, but I am already considering stripping my work journal back to those same basics -- again. Productivity over pretty, if you will. I love this set up. Sure, It's simple, but it's also beautiful.
I am so happy you are back. It is a tough time for sure. We were supposed to fly back home to visit my mom in Germany last May, that never happened. It is hard and sad. My mom is going to be 84 this year and we don't know how much time we have left. Hang in there ❤️
I have no opportunity to see my parents already for three years now, and pandemic made it completely impossible... your words touched my heart. Wish you a very good year, keep going, love your vids
i'm so happy i found this video! to be honest, i already gave up bullet journaling because i just couldn't maintain it and i feel so pressured doing it. it's all because of what social media shows. :( but because i'm now an adult and i somehow need to track my finances, things-i-need-to-do, work related stuff, habits, etc., i really need to have a planner. but since i don't like using premade planners due to personal reasons, now i'm back to bullet journaling. i reminded myself that i only need it to be simple, functional, and not aesthetically forced and this video of yours is really helpful! thank you so much!
I like the simplicity of things. I do agree with you that our journal and planners are supposed to enhance our life. I hope you continue to rekindle the joy of using your planner and journal. Don’t over think about the viewers. I for one, appreciate you sharing your journey with your planners with me. The simpler the set up, the more powerful they are. Cos there’s a lot more space for your personal touch to fill it up. Hope you’re feeling a lot better in 2021.
This is incredible! I’m doing the same thing this year, a minimalistic bujo! The thing I wanted to work on this year was hand lettering so the only artistic things in my bujo are my titles. It’s a huge change coming from a bright and colourful journal full of pictures and washi tape. I’m glad you’re making videos about your journal, it’s so helpful to me! I hope we can all remember the true purpose of bullet journaling this year.
Very happy to see a new video from you! I went through almost the exact same process of letting go of my bullet journal, because the pressure of it being an art piece as well, was more then I could muster at times. For this year I got myself a very simple looking notebook and my only supplies are a black fineliner, stamps and black ink. The clean, minimalist look helps me to keep it "no pressure" and motivates me much better. And I just want to say that your handwriting exercises have given a great result. Your handwriting in these spreads looks awesome!
Hi I'm new to you channel and just wanted to say I loved the video and your honest dialogue about bullet journaling and your journey! It's so refreshing to see and hear a blogger address the reality and not just ignoring it.
This was a very nice reminder on keeping things simple. I've been struggling with the same feeling of wanting to abandon my bullet journal. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this.
I just came here for the handwriting video but I'm just amazed by how very peaceful your content is. Be kind with you an take your time! Have a nice day
I love your setup, very simple and straightforward. Simplicity is definitely beautiful, we tend to forget that. Thank you for the positive message at the end of the video ❤️
So good to see you're back! I love your setup and the journal! The rustic character of the leather fits to your handwriting so well 🥰❤️❤️❤️ Wishing you all the strength you need after this rough past year ❤️
Its so strange to me that many people feel this way, I’ve heard at least a couple, that they stopped doing all the designs etc. but it was never about the design? Like I found the easiest and the fastest spreads to draw out and that work for me and I’ve been using them exclusively for almost 2 years now. You all are making it so much more complicated than it should be
I love it! Simple doesn’t mean not beautiful.... I think it looks amazing, clean, organized, relaxing and useful. Sometimes we love to use all the colors of the rainbow but it’s also ok when we only want simplicity. Nothing is more sure than change, so, do what you feel is the right thing for you at this moment. I’m glad to hear you’re doing better and hopefully you will see your family very soon. A big hug from Germany. P.S. Lola says Hello! To Hiro 🐶❤️
I was also. Completely un motivated to even care about productivity or even look at my bullet journal last year. I am nearly starting to get the spark back. We are getting better.
It’s always nice to see your videos, I’m glad you’re back! This setup is lovely, I really like the notebook format and the stamps. Your handwriting is awesome 😍
I have found that giving myself a set few pens for colour and if I’m in the mood a set font for titles makes making spreads quickly. However I definitely have found that if I know I’m going to have a really busy month I make sure the “theme” is super simple. My may is going to be evil so I’ve got three colors of blue and a really simple wave shape if I want to be fancier.
This was lovely, I am also going back to basics with my BuJo after not using it for most of 2020 so it is wonderful to see what a simple yet beautiful set up you have created here
It’s good to see you back again! Your videos were the first I ever watched on bullet journaling, and I recently started posting planning videos as well because I was inspired by your content! My style is definitely not minimal, but simple does NOT mean boring, and I’m excited to see what you continue to share of your journal! Keep doing what works for you. 🖤 (Also oh my gosh Hiro is b e a u t i f u l)
Thank you so much! No, I think one insert will last me about 3-5 months, depending. For now I only use a calendar, habit tracker and running lists as my monthly setup, so it won't take that much space. ❤️
I started out doing everything by hand. When it got to the point where I believed that it took too much time. I moved my creativity digital. I found fancy fonts. Free downloadable clip art. I still am creative but it only takes a fraction of the time because the basic template stays the same and I don't have to recreate something that works for me. If I want to move something it's only a click of a button. Enjoy your process, but know that if it stops working for you, that you have options. And you can always tip in some elements and still do others by hand. 💖🌞🌵😷
Hello, I have been following you for a long time, I love it when your videos appear and I share what you say, I love how minimal your bullet is, especially elegant, I send you a greeting from Murcia, Spain :).
I understand your hardships I had tested +ve I know how it feels. I don't know you, I've never seen you BUT I've just fallen in love with your VOICE...😇❤
Where are the inserts from? I didn’t see it listed when I clicked on the link. I saw that the travelers note book covers were made from a brown craft paper but your are more of a gray color.
The inserts are from the 'Travelers Notebook' company as well, so you can usually buy them wherever you can find the cover. The inserts come in different colors depending on the paper - so dotted paper has a grey-ish cover. Hope this helps! 😬❤️
Honestly, i didnt like it since you start doing it simple. I want you to think yourself like as an Ikea Showroom designer. You don’t have to live in it, use it, or even make it practical. As a viewer myself, I only got inspirations from you, but not copy your work. cuz i have to customize details for me anyway. Being minimal is such a waste of your precious gift, i guess. Do it with your private journal, and please show us the aesthetics. I know minimal journal video takes the similar amount of effort and exhaustion while making it. Then why waste your energy? Make a artsy one without the pressure of perfection for the actual, practical usage. We don’t need last month’s flip through. We want your quality sense of art.
