I’m so happy I found you. I have watched a lot of your videos in the last week and have bought a couple bibles that you use and just grabbed this one. I’m a 63 year old mama and grandmother and have tons of stickers lol I can cover it with. Thank you for your videos
I even missed one!!! Glad someone caught the gag. If I wasn’t so hard on things, I’d go for a nicer Cambridge, but I destroy anything that makes it into my backpack.
@@revchadbrooks Admittedly, I'm a little slow and it took me a while. At first I wondered what the numbers were and later I thought, "how many times is he going to say that!" Then it clicked. lol! The Cambridge works for me because I don't stick to one bible. I have one that I use for study and marking up, one for devotional reading and another for preaching.
@@revchadbrooks I love the NLT but I haven’t found one that I can take notes in like I like to… This year and next year for that matter im going with the NKJV Cambridge WideMargin Calf split, I got it for $142, so I have to make it go longer than a year lol
Great video, love the passion. Disappointed you didn't show the inside of the Bible. I had been looking at this Bible but couldn't find anything that showed inside of the Bible.
Yea stickers :) NIV. Thats cool. I’d love to hear about your love for NLT. But that Inisght bible is rad. I pulled the trigger on my 2022 Bible. Grabbed a NABRE - catholic edition. “Catholic note taking bible” It’s leather bound (likely imitation) but we’ll see how it feels. I’ve been on a quest for years to find a nice hand feeling bible. Years ago a JW friend of mine gave me one of their bibles and the feel. I’ve been trying to find the same feel as that in a less biased translations for years. Yet to succeed, and I wont admit to how many bibles I’ve bought in trying. Or yea I’m that weirdo in chapters feeling up bibles hoping for that same glorious feel. I respect the hardcover love you have, has me thinking, cause I do have a sweet NLT thats a moleskin like edition, and I do enjoy that especially 4 years into it how worn the cover is now. Hardcover seems to have merit for note taking, nice and firm. Anyway… Merry Christmas brother, love the video. Looking forward to how you go through this new turkey buzzard. I’d love to hear in a video sometime too your thoughts on how to discard bibles. Seems you have a less sacred feeling about them and that might be refreshing to hear a perspective on that.
Hunting for the perfect Bible is so much fun. And I have done some weird things trying to find the right feel back when I was into leather bibles, so I understand. I'm stoked for the new turkey buzzard. And throwing away Bibles? Who does that?
I thought about that. Drove me crazy as a kid…will probably still drive me crazy as an adult. Plus, I love seeing wear and tear on things. That whole “used” aesthetic is big to me.
HA! It's an inside joke around the channel. The expensive, leather-bound Cambridge Wide Margins are called "The Eagle" in the premium bible community. When you open them up, the sides fall down and look like a large bird in flight. While the same size...the hardback versions aren't nearly as elegant, so a few of us started calling them a "Turkey Buzzard."
