I wish the 5 power was more universal. Example being the 746 Dobyns Is considered a Mag Heavy, the 734 is considered a HEAVY, but the imx pro 855C that is in my hands in this video has printed on the blank that its a 855c, Medium Heavy Fast. It acts like a heavy glass rod to be honest. It's almost like an in between. Hard to describe, but I would NOT throw a heavy texas rig or Stout jig on this rod as i dont think it'd have the power to set the hook.
Have you ever had a problem with the lexa 300 staying seated on the 795 fury? My lexa 300 hd would not function on the 806 fury and I had to return the dobyns. I had seen a video describing same thing on RU-vid but just figured the guy wasn’t tightening it all the way. I think the lexa must be slightly thicker where it meets the reel seat.
I have not had a problem yet. Been about 2 years with that reel on the fury 795. That said I make sure my reel seats are super tight when I install a reel. Did they take care of you?
@@cameroncreamerfishing there was no problem returning it. Is your lexa the hd version? I had the reel seat super locked down but it popped off a couple times on the initial trip. On one of Hellabass’ livestreams with gary Dobyns, he mentioned that once in awhile a reel company makes a reel that is a little too thick for the industry standard Fuji reel seat that he uses. I ended up throwing the reel on a st croix mojo musky rod, which is the species I got the reel for anyway.
I love my IMX Pro but I really like my champion XP and Extreme HP's.... I am however eyeing an Expride right now for both spinning and casting. Shimano has me for life on the reels.
