After 3 kids and all the bodily issues that come with it, I finally started pelvic floor therapy. Not covered by insurance in my state either (women’s issues are not prioritized by insurance). I was intimidated by the price but I’m so glad I did it. My PT is a woman who has 4 children and 30+ years experience so she knows her stuff. I recommend finding a woman as well. The earlier you start (before menopause), the more effective it is! Good luck!
Love all the resolutions! I particularly struggle with the comparison aspect too and I am making it a resolution with you to stop comparing my life to others and getting so down on myself. Love Jordan's quote of "we have to accept what our family is at the moment and let go of the things we are not". Taking that into the new year. We can do this! Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family and a cheers to a healthy and happy new year for all of us! 🎉🎉🎉
Love the video! Yes yes yes to pelvic floor rehabilitation. I did it 7 months after having my son and it made a world of difference by taking away my back pain and allowing me to take my exercising and strength training to new levels.
Aw thank you!! No need to worry all is good! Just been super busy and RU-vid content takes longer to create than I have had time in January 😭 I put out my newsletter every week and post on Instagram every day though! 🩷 I’ll be back here soon!!! Thank you for the love!
Fellow C section mama. Pelvic floor therapy was one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. I’m almost a year in and I’m finally starting to feel like I recognize my body again. ❤
Pelvic floor therapy is a game changer! I don’t know what insurance you have but Hoag hospital has pelvic floor therapist that are definitely covered by insurance. And they are AMAZING! Might be worth checking into 🤗
Love love love this video, Olivia. With you on the comparison trap and acknowledging limitations. I’ve missed out on some big family events this past year but honestly it was better for my mental health to get the break while my husband and my son were out for the day- giving me a much needed recharge. Relatives/friends don’t always understand the choices we make but ultimately it’s so freeing to do what matters most in the moment :)
I’m so sorry for the hard year you had. It’s not easy & let’s be honest, motherhood is hard enough. I hope you are so proud of yourself for how you handled everything ❤ I love the letting go of seeking validation. Once, I came upon a quote that said, “Be careful who you give your microphone to” because not everyone is qualified to speak on it. Since then, I always ask myself if they’re qualified to give me advice on “xyz” subject and why am I seeking validation from outside sources instead of within. It’s a great quote to go back to❤
Such a great energy for the new year! ❤ I would be pump to have the podcast back and hear in a more intimate way how this year really has been for you, and how you're working through hard things as a family ❤ Your braveness has truly been an inspiration tbh, because between the miscarriage, the rough delivery, the nicu, Soleil's health etc. it's been a freaking rollercoaster and Jordan's quote is so so true. Can't wait to see you take your power back after feeling so out of control! You guys got this 💪❤️
And also, pelvic floor pt and abdominal pt is prescribed to every single woman in France, where I live, after giving birth. It's obviously covered for any practician of your choice, and it's a game changer. I really loved doing this after my first, and I will not skip any session after'my second (due in April) 😘
You're an amazing gal. I love catching up and hearing about what you and the family have been up to! Are KK and fam coming for Christmas?? ❤ very proud of you and excited to see more in the new year! Very excited about the podcast coming back! Merry Christmas to you guys. ❤
I would love to learn more about/hear someone's experience with pelvic floor therapy! It's something I've thought about after 4 pregnancies/2 births but I'm nervous about it and that always holds me back.
I had a twin pregnancy c-section but I don’t think I’m done having kids so I may look at pelvic PT when I’m done. :) Thanks for the discount code! I used it to get prenatals. 😁
Pelvic floor PT was a game changer! I did it privately (there was a 9 month wait if I went through my hospital 🫠) and it just helped me overall so much. Not to mention the hour that was just devoted to ME post partum. I needed it.
