I know you’re concerned about using plastics for your kids which is why you recommended the bamboo bowls and plates. But they’re actually made of 60% melamine resin, which is a type of plastic. It’s total greenwashing. :( Maybe wooden or metal serving ware would be a good option for the kids. Interested to see what you might find!

Not all of them are. It takes a lot of research to find out information on sourcing, manufacturing, etc. , but making over-generalized statements like you did, is just feeding into what others want you to believe. I encourage people to do their own research into the brands they are interested in, and go from there. That way you are well informed, instead of just regurgitating talking points you've heard from possibly unreliable sources.

@@xtraceyy 100% agree. Also, I would not recommend these random sellers on Amazon if you want to grab one of these bamboo plates. A friend of mine who’s in the plastic industry told me to stick with Target. They heavily regular the product they sell vs Amazon sellers can say whatever they want to with no consequences. Target has a bamboo collection for kids. However, I would just use 304 stainless steel. It’s the safest, lightest and most durable material for children.

Yep. What cracked me up was she doesn’t want chemicals leeching from her kids’ plates but religiously uses UV gel nails and gel polish (with which she touches her children + everything they touch… If you’re into chemistry you’ll be saying HOOOOO LEE CRAP

Bamboo is one of the most versatile materials. I love how you mentioned both bamboo sheets and bamboo bowls. I have the bamboo plates and I absolutely love them. They are so durable, lightweight, and easy to clean. I would just caution that they can get stained if you eat food with turmeric

Word of caution: I have been having BBL treatments done on my hands to reduce age spots and freckles (I'm old enough to be Shea's mama's mama!). No more gel or UV lights for me! I can do dip powder or regular polish. Be careful of nail lights!

Funny you mention this. I’ve had them in my cart forever. I’ve noticed they are usually $75-$129 depending on the color but sometimes see them for $57. I’ve been eyeing the grey ones (light or dark) for a long time and the other day I went on to check the price and the grey were on sale for $44.. I thought SCORE! Lol then I started checking the other colors and the light blue were only $33.. so ..light blue it is hahah, my comforter covers them anyway. I received them and washed them but haven’t put them on my bed yet. But I can’t wait to experience the amazingness everyone talks about!

Please do more research on oil pulling. It is a pseudoscience. When your gingival margin descends past 5 mm, it will not reverse. This is what periodontal disease is. You would need to have a gingival graft to cover the exposed cementum of the root surface. Periodontists do this procedure. Oil pulling will also not help with plaque (biofilm) or tartar (calculus). These are both colonies of organisms, such as S. mutans. Calculus is a biofilm that has calcified. If you use an oil with added glucose, you do more harm than good. The only way to remove biofilm is to mechanically brush it off, and the only way to remove the calculus is to have a dental hygienist scale it off. No PEER REVIEWED articles have displayed data to show that oil pulling is effective. Please do your research before you promote a useless product.

I love your videos Shea but agree. Please don’t tell people they’re gum recession will reverse especially not with oil pulling. I’m sure you’ll find low grade evidence. I would recommend systematic reviews and check out the the hierarchy of evidence. This is not an attack just a friendly dental professional ❤

Hi Shea. My #1 favorite purchase this year 2023 so far is Organic Bamboo Toilet Paper. Not joking. The sheets are soft and durable and you need less of them so it is also economically friendly as well. You might already know about this however just in case I thought I would share it with you. They also are naturally biodegradable and good for the environment. BPA and chemical free. I have found them at my local grocery store and a grocery chain called Grocery Outlet. You might be able to purchase some online. Take care!

I do oil pulling after I wash my face and am in the kitchen making breakfast. Make sure to spit it out in the trashcan and not in any sink! Coconut oil is really good.

Beware of UV lights for gel nails… even when it says LED its still UV light and as the name says, it emits UV light which is bad for you and it causes cancer. I am a cancer survivor and I have a UV lamp and I researched and it says that if you do your nails every few weeks you can be affected. I now use it every few months with sunscreen on my hands. Doctors recommend that you use sunscreen on your hands or using gloves. I am not making this up, you can look it up yourselves. I also follow a doctor… a real actual doctor with a real practice in Puerto Rico (I’m from Puerto Rico) and she talked about it a couple of times. A very good doctor she’s called Dr Montalvan.

I have been coconut pulling for about 5 years and it has been amazing. The results are great. Before I started my teeth were very sensitive, but I have no sensitivity now. I always spit the oil into the garbage bag. It will do a terrible number on your plumbing if you spit it into the sink, shower or toilet.

I recommend NYK1 or Modellones (and of course the “OG” of shellac CND but they are more expensive and don’t have as many colour options) ☺️

The sheets are amazing! Bought them for my hubby for Christmas (would that be considered a selfish gift since I benefit from them too? Haha) and he loves them! I used to do my own gel nails, loved it but my nails were so damaged by them I had to stop. No matter how long I filed to break the top coat or soaked them my nails always peeled and cracked. My thumbs are the worst they will crack on their own even without wearing nail polish. But I absolutely loved doing my own nails

Shea I use regular baking flour for my hair when it’s oily and it works great I just brush it out and I like it because I feel like there are less chemicals going into my scalp. Maybe you could try!

Just be careful with it. It will pull out undercoat but also will cut the top coat. I used one on my rough collie one time and had to hide him for months until the coat on his rear grew out.

Hi Shea. I bought a few of the things and I wanted to let you know that the hair bands are great, BUT they did not come in a carrying case/bag. So, that was a pain having to find someplace to store them. One of the appealing things about them was the little place to keep them. Otherwise, I have one in my hair right now!

I saw a video someone posted warning about the flocked Christmas trees - her 2 cats played in the box the tree came in while they decorated it… later that day, both cats were acting lethargic then passed away :-( It was because they had ingested/inhaled the flocking (white stuff) from the tree. So maybe skip getting a flocked tree if you have pets.
