First dog too excited and came close to stepping on one. Umm. Nope. I would delay the meeting until they got a little bigger. Dogs are too unpredictable IMO.

They're not really "natural enemies," although some dogs may have a very strong prey instinct. It more comes down to whether both parties were socialized to be non-aggressive since birth, which seems to increase the likelihood of them getting along

We rescued a little kitten and all 5...yes 5 of my dogs instantly accepted her and have never shown any aggression at all towards her. They will snuggle and play and let her jump on them. She's been with us 3 weeks.
