I got myself a 2023 St. Nicholas 320KS because of you and love it so much that, I plan on buying a 320KS for my next pipe as well. Really enjoy my 320KS! Thank you for this video, Onion! 😊
You got me smoking the 320s with that amazing Vanizia! It is a kingly pipe and is one of my most fave pipes in the world. Not just because of the look and smoking qualities, but the fact you gifted it to me. I was so humbled and blown away with your huge heart. I too have given away two 320s to others and know that feel the same way. Giving a special pipe to someone is truly amazing for both peeps. Can never thank you enough my dear friend. 😊
When I first saw a 320 I just fell in love with the shape but back then I was just a beginner and I didn't want to invest a lot in a pipe. After 2 years I decided to buy a nice pipe so I started looking. the Savenelli Roma Lucite line seemed like a great option. I loved the way they looked and I could afford one, then I found out how much hype the 673 has in the YTPC and I liked the shape but I decided to go with the first shape that I fell in love back when I started, The 320. that was when I found your channel. I got my Roma Lucite 320 KS two days ago and I love every single thing about it. Not a bit of regret, awsome pipe. Thanks.
Leonine, Congrats on your 320 Roma Lucite! That is scheduled to be my next 320 purchase. I hope you get as much enjoyment and relaxation from your 320 as I get from mine! They are amazing pipes! Obviously they are my favorite pipe shape and I hope they will become yours as well. To me it is the perfect combination of looks, smokabilty and hand feel. It reminds me of a stick shift on a sports car the way it fits my hand. Enjoy your 320, may it bring you many decades of smoking pleasure and calming peace.
For someone to give up something they enjoy and gift it to someone else is a big deal in my book. The world could use more Onions then it already has. Bless you and your family and may God always give you a clear path to walk.
Just got my first 320 today, my son gave it to me for my birthday. I’m enjoying your thoughts while enjoying the maiden smoke. It’s the “Porto Cervo” model, it’s beautiful pipe and it smokes great!
You made this video while I was on a break from my pipes. I can safely say that you had a great deal to do with me smoking a 320 KS. At the moment, I only have an unfinished Series III, but I'm waiting for a Foresta to arrive in the mail. Can't wait to smoke it! My goal, as of now, is to assemble a 7 day rotation of 320s!
One of my first comments on ytpc was how I thought the pipe just suited you. I meant that and you took the time to comment back and that is how I found out it was the 320. I bought myself a serie III for Christmas and do love it! Not every blend shines in it and today I smoked sweet rum twist in it for the first time and it didn’t deliver. I was almost done smoking a tin of ODF which took me quite a while for I didn’t like it at all! The last bowl in the tin was on the large side, so I smoked it out of the 320 and MAN it delivered! I really gave up on that blend, but I need another tin of it! Take care Onion, and god bless
Savinelli 320 and 673ks are my favorite shape pipes although I like the 673ks a little more they both smoke fantastic…glad you enjoy the 320…keep the smoke 💨 flowin “
I had a unfinished 320 before I met you and didn't know anything about them; now it's my favorite shape. I will always cherish the Trevi you gifted me. Love you bro and have a good one. ✌🏽🙂
I have a rusticated 673 with the same stem color. It reminds me of chocolate milk when you drop a few marshmallows in and start stirring and watching them melt and swirl. 👍
My first good pipe purchase was a 320 EX that I purchased after listening to you talk about the 320 series. I now have three 320 series pipes and am looking at purchasing a fourth later this week. I find that they smoke very well and fit my hand.
Savinelli makes killer pipes & i can certainly understand you (and Matches) falling in love with certain models ... I really am fond of my 315 KS Roma Lucite - one of my fave’s for sure ... Great story, bud - very generous of you to gift that pipe to your follower 👊🏻🤘🏻👏🏻👏🏻 keep on puffin’ those 320’s! 😃
I recently picked up a 320 because of you, but only partially. While I like the size of the 320, I'm not a fan of the bulky stem, so I picked up a Savinelli Gaius 320. It has the bowl size of the 320, but the stem is shaped similar to a military mount. The Savinelli Eleganza is very similar. I am enjoying it very much!
Got my first 320 yesterday thanks to you Onion. Man is it a difference from the 673KS. I like it though. The bowl diameter is big, the depth is about the same as the 673, it holds a good amount of tobacco and it smokes very well. I think I’m hooked on them lol.
@@2ampipeonthepatio I get what you mean when you say if fills in your hand very well. It’s very enjoyable to hold and smoke and light enough to clinch and smoke.
A nice story. I am a Savinelli fan but like you mentioned, I felt that the 320 stem would be too thick for my taste. Until...the Eleganza 320. The blue acrylic is beautiful and the more standard stem is perfect. I love my Eleganza 320 (rusticated).
I only have 1 320 love it it’s an unfinished one and you smoke anything out of it. I won it in a GAW . From 16 th day . I definitely will be adding more. Hope you are doing well. Blessings from Gettysburg..
They are fantastic pipes! The Rossi’s are nice pipes I have several myself, but you will find the fit and finish on the pipes and especially the stems of the Savinelli 320 to be a big step up from the Rossi pipe.
Thank you for your insight, because of your pure appreciation of the pipe, I just purchased my first 320 and I am looking forward to my first smoke with it.
I have Kendall Kentucky and GH Dark Birds Eye and will probably always keep them around. To me they are very similar in taste and stoutness. Don’t smoke them nearly as much as I used to, but palates have a way of coming back around and will be glad those jars are full.
Thanks for this video, as a new pipe smoker this kind of content really helps. After watching this and a few other reviews of the 320, I purchased the Roma Rusticated. Can't wait to try this one out.
I don’t have but one savinelli pipe. I’m a 9mm smoker so, I got to be careful to find the pipes that have that and work for me. Great video my friend 👍🏻
If I could only choose 1 pipe, it would be the 320. I picked up an 8320 sitting with you at the SDPC Pipe Show when the Rossi Dealer was there. I've asked Bud if he knows when they might do that again, so I can pick up some more. Feels and looks amazing. But you were the first person that I've ever seen smoking the 320. I have 4 now. Cool story, thanks for sharing. 👊💥 JB
Thanks for sharing your love of the 320. I’m new very new to pipe smoking but the 320 has caught my eye so that had me looking at reviews and that’s how I found your video. I’ll be saving up to buy this pipe.
I have a 320. I love the look and it smokes great! But, I can’t clinch it very well. I just got my first Savinelli 2021 St Nick 673! I think I like it a little better than the 320…but I really admire the look of the 320
The 320 can be hard to clench it’s a heavy pipe. I couldn’t clench it easily at first but now I have no problem. I love the 673 and can see why Matches loved it so much.
I just bought my first 320KS. It's St. Nicholas 2022 with the silver/green ring and red stem, and she's gorgeous. I haven't smoked it yet. But the way it feels when you hold it, is fantastic. I like the feeling of the thick bowl and shank. I like her weight. I like the way it looks. Plus, I can hold it by the thick shank like a cigar. I'm waiting to see how it smokes.
I love the 320! I have two: a Trevi and a KS Series III, which is coloring nicely. I also have a Savinelli 2320 rusticated, which is similar to the 320 and has a military bit. I don't believe it is made anymore.
I need to find a 2320, never even knew they existed! The hunt begins! That is a very cool pipe the 2320! The 320 is such a great pipe. Thanks for telling me about the 2320!
I had no idea T got you on the 320 road. Awesome Onion. Thanks for sharing, hope you get to 21 sooner than later. 🙂 Enjoy your weekend....they should rename the 320 the Onion... it's almost shaped like an onion. 🙂
Great story! They really are a great looking pipe. I don't currently have one. But after watching you enjoy them I'm gonna pick one up for sure. I may start with the series iii unfinished as that's my style. Happy puffin 🔥💨💨💨
Awesome! I have one and I love it! It’s fun to watch it darken up. Mine looks like a dark brown stained pipe now! Just from smoking it and the oils from my hands while smoking it!
About a year ago I bought a Rossi 8320XL from Eddie Gray and it was just way too big for me so I gifted it to Junebug piper. I think Savinelli should come out with a model called the 320 Onion.
I love the 320 it's great to see someone who cares for them like I do unfortunately I only have one but hopefully can afford more someday. I'm starting a ytpc Chanel this week hopefully you will check it out. Good smoking and God Bless
@2am pipe's on the patio : My Question to you sir, is I'm looking to buy my very first Savinelli 320. Do the different names like Dolomiti and Trevi describe the finish ? They all appear to be the same size, they just appear to be differently coated. Anyway I really enjoy your videos, and can hardly wait for your timely response. Thanks in advance, The Salty Rant 👍✌️
My first was a Rossi Vittoria I liked it smoked great, felt great in the hand but like you said didnt care for the thick stem. Recently picked up a Savinelli Eleganza which has a thinner nice looking blue stem and sliver mounted looking pipe. Its perfect. You should really check out that line for your next 320.
I got one a little bit ago and love it. Looking at getting more as I go along. The shank is thick and feels like a good cigar to me. Thanks for sharing your journey pal!
That's is a love story! Your channel should call 320 pipe on patio . Hahahaha Newton gave me one 320 two weeks ago, and it is true is the best mechanics for smoke, I'm constantly looking for another one used at eBay but it is quite a war to win a bet hahaha Nice video
i packed my one and only 320 to smoke while i watched this. the 320 shape could be called the onion. it does sort of resemble one. like the apple and the tomato. i hereby christen the 320 shape as the onion. so there ya go.
since you asked for our stories about our 320 ill tell ya. the one i have was sent to me by a lurker. dead now unfortunately. he contacted me initially just to bs about pipe and tobacco and the industry, having been an insider and a life long pipe smoker. he said he could tell i loved the leaf and wasn't trying to look cool or sell anything or come off like i knew more than i did so he figured i was alright and might like to hear some stories. we had a lot of long late night conversations. he could tell a story thats for sure. he had owned a rather large pipe shop for several decades and knew personally various big wigs and personalities of the pipe and tobacco variety. he had a story for them all and had been a radio host to so he knew how to talk. anyway one night i asked him what pipe he was smoking and he said it was a 320 and he had noticed i didn't have on. he said "boy you are going to want one of these" and about a week later i had in my hands an unfinished sav 320. he never wanted to be acknowledged or talked about online so ill leave it at that. but he was a good fella and i enjoyed his company and generosity.
"The 320 just caught my eye...at first t looked like a whale...then later a sperm...and I knew it was mine...my pipe." -Onion 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Love ya Brother!
Missouri meerschaum corncob they are inexpensive and incredible smokers! Light easy to clench in your teeth and smoke nice and dry. Just truly great smokers! Make sure you get Missouri meerschaum don’t get a Chinese corn cob
I have to tell you. I own 1 savinelli pipe. That will be the last as i spent over 100 dollars on it and did not like it. Gurgles way to much . But i think everyone cant be wrong , but it shows that i am to spread the wealth qith pipes
Fantastic! They are tremendous smokers! I smoke them wide open, no filter, no insert, I love the cool wide open draw. Let me know what you think after you’ve smoked it! Which model did you purchase?
@@nm-ge4tb I love my 320 unfinished! It has colored up so nicely! It’s a deep dark brown now, the grain is showing! I’m about to apply a good coat of carnuba wax to seal it and give it a shine! It’s as dark as I think it will get! It’s fun to watch to color as you smoke it!
I made a comment on this video but cannot find it anymore. I'm sure it is nog here because it had a link in it. But i wanted to show you another brand with the same pipe and shape as the Savinelli 320 And that is "Brebbia 1007" I wil not put the link in here or my comment could be not comming threu. But that really looks like a Savinelli 320 and it is Italian made. Brebbia is a good brand. Check it your self :) You always said you are in love with the shape :D
I haven’t had the pleasure of smoking a 320 yet. It looks like a nice stout pipe. Do any retailers offer a mil discount? They’re a little pricey for my income.
What is your price range? You can get the Savinelli series III 320 unfinished for $52 from tobacco pipes dot com. I love those as you get to watch them color up and they feel great in your hand!
I will smoke several bowls in the same pipe in the same day, then I rest it. I have too many pipes lol I have a 10 day rotation of Savinelli 320 pipes. I rarely smoke the same 320 twice in the same week. I have many other pipes that I add in as well. The old timers before me usually had 2-3 pipes. They would smoke one all day then the next day they would smoke the other, if they had a third they smoke that one the 3rd day. Always give your pipe a rest and a cleaning with a pipe cleaner after you smoke it.
I don’t use a filter at all in mine, but if you are going to use a filter I’d get a 9mm . I’d recommend the 9mm if you are starting out. Now all of mine are 6mm but I don’t use a filter at all in mine. I run mine wide open. I wouldn’t recommend that unless you have decades of experience, as you could get your pipes too hot and cause a burn out. You need to learn to sip your pipe and control the temp of your pipe.
@2ampipeonthepatio yes that's what I'm learning I just found out about the filters, I wasn't aware. I have experience with cigars only. Is the filter necessary? If I come with cigar background would you recommend 6mm or 9mm for my first pipe?
@crazypitbull16 the 6mm pipes come new with some balsa filters and an adapter that fills the 6mm filter spot and makes it a 3mm opening li’e a n9n filter pipe. So you can decide which way you like it best. Savinelli also makes 6mm charcoal filters now.
Well, that’s a tricky question. A lot of old timers only had one pipe and smoked it everyday. I’d would recommend having at least two pipes and letting one rest a full day after smoking it for a day. Some guys have a lot of pipes and will only smoke a pipe once and let it rest, after a single smoke. To answer your question, let it rest at least 24 hours to dry out. They can get pretty rank if you don’t.
The difference is in fit and finish. They both smoke great but savinelli puts more into the finishing steps of the pipes. I notice it in the stem work especially as well as the finish work on the pipe itself. But that’s to be expected when the Rossi’s run from $49 to $79 and Savinelli run from $100 to a$1000
The 320 is your pipe , when I think of you ,you always have a 320 in your mouth . I haven’t got a 320 as yet but I think I’ve gotta get one now DARN you onion now it’s pipes as well as tobacco 🤨😡😱🤬. 😂😂😂🦡
